Camera 942l is on ver 1.1
D-Viewcam = v 3.2
Both reside on the same LAN
I'm able to view the camera on the browser. And on my phone.
I seem to be struggling to connect more than 4 cameras to my (ISP-supplied) modem/router by Netgear CGD24N via WPS. I'm on my 5th camera now (already have 3x 930L and 1x 942L) but the newest 942L just won't connect to the network at the moment and there's definitely no faults here as I swapped cameras today at the local retailer (and got an A3 942L!).I've even tried connecting the camera to my wireless extender (Netgear WN3000RP) but no luck there.
So far it has only worked twice for short periods of time (enough for me to configure the cameras) but since then I can't actually get it working. I've got a couple of spare wireless routers lying around too and should be receiving a DIR-600 soon (from the Netgear promotion in Australia) which could be useful?
I have been trying to connect a camera to the wifi router at my mother's assisted living facility. The password has a special character, "!".
After hours waiting on the phone with tech support, they confirmed that only letters and numbers are supported. Guess i have to take it back.
Incidentally, the software is changing "!" to "%21", which is the escape sequence used in URL's. The camera software isn't mapping it back. Should be fixable in firmware.
I asked a question recently about accessing camera via a smartphone but I realize that's not really the correct question. The smartphone works fine locally with wifi and has a browser available.
The real question I have is what is the easiest way to access any camera via a browser from a remote location. Years ago tech friend assisted me access my DCS-910 using dyndns.org. It was free and worked great. I guess it went away when they started charging for a basic account.
Is there an easy way to access a camera without using dyndns even if it involves putting in an IP address instead of a convenient domain name? I would just like to see at least one of my cameras in a browser off-site. If I have to pay $20/year for dyndns I can but I would prefer not to if possible.
I'd had my camera offline for the last couple of months, and in the interim I've upgraded both my main pc and the wireless router. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on the pc, and the router is a netgear gigabit dual band wired/wireless. When running through the camera setup I am not able to get setup to find the camera, whether wired or wireless. I know that the camera's online as it shows in the routers device table, and I'm able to access the camera with my browser. However, the failed setup prevents my registering the camera on MyDlink. Any thoughts? Should I be looking at the ports on the router in regard to the camera's IP?My goal is to be able to remotely monitor my home, which the MyDlink service seemed to offer. Based on what I've read, it appears there are other ways to achieve my goal, but I would like to figure out the install problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with one of my DCS-930L cameras. I have successfully installed it and it's connected wirelessly to a Dovado router. However, after some 2 weeks the wireless connection drops and I can't connect to the camera anymore. As the camera is 350 km away I can't restart it. This happens everytime and the last time I was around the camera and indeed the camera LED was green. I restarted it by pulling the powercord and after that the camera worked for som 2-3 weeks and then the same problem again.I have 4 cameras, and it's always the same one that drops the connection and the router is only some 5 meters away from the camera. No walls between the router and the camera. I have the ability to restart the router with an sms, but that doesn't make the camera reconnect.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI connected my camera to my router with a network cable. It is a DCS-2121, H/W Ver A2, with firmware 1.04_FR.It received an IP address and I could access it fine with a web browser. Then I configured it to work wireless.I disconnected the cable but the camera wasn't accessible.Since I couldn't find it I re-attached it with a network cable, but this didn't work.So I pressed the Reset button to start over again. However, now I cannot get it to work anymore. When I plug in the camera and have it connected with a network cable to the router the status light remains RED.When I plug it in without a network cable the status led remains RED.When I connect it with a network cable to a computer directly, the status led remains RED.I've tried changing the network settings of my router to use 192.168.0.x as range, but it makes no difference. In all cases the status indicator remains RED.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHere is the scenario: A mid-sized IP based camera network (150 cameras, 1 management server, several client workstations, and several recording servers) has been implemented on a stand-alone LAN utilizing a class C configuration and is set up as a windows domain. The user now wants to add the ability for workstations on the existing class B network to connect (with client software) to the management server on camera network, network is controlled by enterprise sized domain (Think county). Access is controlled by camera system client software credentials. Here are my questions:
1) What is the best way to do this and what hardware is required? I thought about just adding a NIC to the management server but am concerned about the 2 different domains playing well together. Would a router be best? What do I need to consider as far as setting up firewall and/or gateway?
2) What considerations do I need to take into account regarding the camera network not taking bogging down existing user network?
3) The workstations on the camera network are not as “locked down” as they are on the user network (again, think county network security). Will I be creating a security hazard and if so, how can I prevent this?
Here is what a wired portion of my network looks like:
internet---dsl modem---airport extreme---powerline ethernet adapter****powerline ethernet adapter---5 port switch---(ip camera & ioBridge 204)
The airport extreme is also hardwired to a PC that I use to view the IP camera. The issue I'm having is with the connection to the IP Camera. The connection to the camera worked for a long time, then starting dropping periodically and now it doesn't work at all.The ioBridge connected to the same switch as the camera connects to my network and the internet just fine.
Here's what I've done to troubleshoot: I plugged the camera in to my airport extreme and it worked fine. When I plug my camera into the other end of the powerline ethernet adapters, though, it doesn't work (even though the ioBridge does). I replaced the powerline adapters today (because they had worked before, so I guessed something had fried in them) but the connection still doesn't work.
When I ping the camera (when it's on the other side of powerline adapters and "not working") the response time is around 3ms (good) but there is about a 33% loss rate (bad).I'm guessing it's the loss rate that is keeping it from displaying the video stream on the computer...but I can't think of what changed between when it was working and when it stopped working that would cause it lose packets like that.
i have a n6073 network camera i cannot browse and ping the IP of it.i used CAM FINDER to find the right IP, netmask and gateway of my n6073 network camera. can you check this:
n6073 network camera:
IP: 192.168.0.20
netmask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.254
and my local network connection:
ip: 192.168.0.20
netmask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.254
why i can't browse in firefox nor ping it the ip of my n6073?
I have several network cameras within my home. Some are Panasonic. How can I view the image without using their cgi. I just want to view the camera image within my security program. How can I do this?

The computer in the garage has dual NIC cards installed and working fine. I am trying to get the Camera to feed back to the router from the second NIC card in the garage computer. The first NIC is communicating fine with the router.
Linksys Settings:
192.168.1.1
255.255.255.0
NIC 1:
192.168.1.145 (static)
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1
[code]....
After messing around with many different thoughts and tries, I have successfully contacted 192.168.1.120 (the camera) from garage Computer While camera is connected to NIC 2.Camera wants a crossover cable to function properly and won't accept patch cable, I have tried with new cables...no change it needs crossover cable when connected straight to the NICs.
Camera:
192.168.1.120
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1
Now the problem is I cannot view or access the Camera from my main Computer inside the house Like I need to....
I recently bought 3 DCS-920 to monitor my home while at the office. However I can't seem to get the damned things to stream video using the dyndns service. I linked my router to the dyndns account and host service. I portforward the ports my cameras are assigned. Up to this point its all good, I can access the cameras and their settings pages while outside. However both the Java and ActiveX options for video streaming do not work. Even within the network, using their raw IPs to view the cameras the videos stream works. But putting in the hostname and port they are assigned brings up the camera page, but no video.I can only assume the ports the video and audio run on are seperate, as when I put one camera's IP in the DMZ host on my router, it works with the DNS. Unforunately I can only do that with 1, and I'd rather not do that at all.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed my new DCS-2121 and enabled upnp to be able to watch the feed from my mobile. While being on vacation I noticed that the feed redirected to some strange Russian site,[URL]Back home now, I noticed that the /m/m/index.html file contains an iframe at the bottom, that redirects there. So someone (not me) has been able to alter the index on the wap site and add that at the end some way or the other. While Googling I found only one reference on a French forum, and other than the lack of newer firmware for the camera no direct reactions to this.I tried with a simple PUT to put the original file back, without the iframe at the bottom, but there I get a 403.
- When can we expect new firmware to fix this HUGE security problem?
- How to restore the original (and yes, I tried a factory reset, but that doesn't restore the html files it seems)
- How did they manage?
It seems from the config db that it's an OEM'ed alphanetworks.com camera with a lot more options that d-link put in there. Any input from them maybe, it seems they are writing the firmware?
I've just got my DCS-2121 up and working. But i can't figureout how to access the direct URL for the camera? And is there a URL for still images aswell?I got an iPad and an iPhone, but i can't access the camera because it use Java.I had another DCS-900 where i could access IMAGE.jpg and Video.cgi. Is there anything like those for the DCS-2121?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have configured my new DCS-2130 with periodic transfer of snapshots to my web page. filename prefix which is given as input in the MEDIA TYPE setup however gets extended with additional numbers resulting in unique filenames after every transfer. E.g. SNAPSHOT1320703730_3939.jpg where filename prefix is SNAPSHOT. This makes it challenging when an URL contains a reference to the same file name, and the file names changes over time. Which calls for name manipulating through script or similar.
