Dell :: XPS M1330 Can't Find Network Adapter After Reinstalling Windows Vista
Jan 10, 2013
I am passing my computer on to a family member and wanted to give them a fresh install, so I used the Windows Vista (32-bit SP1) disc that came with the laptop and reinstalled Vista on the computer. Everything worked fine until I wanted to connect to the internet, then Windows said that there were no networks available. When I selected "Why can't windows find any networks" it said that "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured". I put in the Dell Driver's and Utilities CD that came with the computer and installed the drivers that seemed related to networks or communications, but the problem persists. I'm assuming it is some sort of driver issue (as the computer was using wireless internet before the reformat (just hours ago) and so the device itself seems to be working.

I have recently reinstalled windows vista on my dell inspiron 1525 laptop and now when I try to connect to the Internet It gives me the following message. "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured" and it gives me the option to "Install wireless networking hardware, and verify that the correct drivers are loaded" . Where can I get this wireless networking hardware?, is it on a disk that came with the laptop or do I have to download it using another computer and manually install it on my laptop. I have already don't some research online and have download some drivers but can't seem to install them on my laptop.

My XPS M1330 was working fine until today. While using the computer, it disconnected from my home wireless network. Windows Device Manager tells me the device is working normally. The WiFi switch is on but the WiFi catcher doesn't find any networks. I can connect to my home network with an Ethernet cable and my desktop, which is on the same network, can connect so i know its not my modem or router.

I know the wifi in the laptop works, i know the laptop has no issues.I know this because i switched my hard drive from my 1330 to this laptop which is also a 1330...connects and works fine.Wifi IS turned on In device manager the driver is ok no exclamation marks anywhere When i try and connect with the ethernet i get identifying no network access, then it says currently connected to unidentified network, no network access! You cannot browse. So that being said it must be in the setting with windows 7.I uninstalled and reinstalled the wifi driver it did not make any difference.I also tried using a Ethernet connection and it would not connect either. When i use the win 7 trubleshooter it states a network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken.Remember this laptop functions fine with my hard drive in it with windows xp.

I have a Gateway Notebook Model ML6720 that has built-in Wireless. The PC was heavily infected by Virus and I had to re-install Vista Operating system. Now, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter. I went to the maufacturer's website on another computer and downloaded the driver and installed the driver on the laptop. However, it did not work. The blue "wireless" light on the laptop is "lit", however when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option.

I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my PC, and wanted to add a Wi-Fi ability to it.
I have a Dell TrueMobile 1300 USB Adapter, so I tried to connect it to the desktop.
Windows didn't recognized it. I searched really hard across the internet - but couldn't find a proper driver to this device.
The only related thing I've found is a UTILITY from dell site (over here: [URL]
- but still - this installed only the Utility, not the driver. The adapter still stays "Unreconized" on my computer.

Problem I've been having with my laptop. Following the directions of a Dell technician while trying to resolve a separate problem, I deleted the partitions on my hard drive and manually reinstalled both Vista and all the drivers that were on the Dell CD that came with my laptop. When I tried connecting to the internet, Vista said I did not have any wireless networking hardware, but before the reinstallation it worked just fine. I am able to connect to the internet using a wired connection, but my wireless adapter still isn't working. I use Windows Vista 32-bit SP1

I have Dell Latitude D620 and bought it refurbished, I did NOT recieve a backup drivers and utilities disk with the laptop. The computer worked fine for about a year I had no problems accessing the Internet at all. Then it crashed and I had to reinstall Windows XP. After reinstalling Windows XP it will not connect to the Internet at all. Even with the ethernet cord directly to the modem. Since it will not connect to the internet I can not do a diagonostics to see what driver it needs. I have tried downloading a few onto my other laptop and then use flash drive to install it on the Dell but have not had any luck with finding the correct driver. I am not that computer savvy and do not know what type of wireless card I even have.

I own a Dell XPS M1330 laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, service pack 1) that is about three and a half years old. I realize this Dell model has been discontinued. Work with me here. I STRONGLY believe after 6+ hours of personal troubleshooting that the laptop model is NOT the problem. I have lived at the same apartment complex the entire time I have owned this laptop. Up until a month ago when a new management company (the third one I’ve had) took over, I was able to use the free WiFi they offer at the office and the laundry room without one single speck of a problem weekly for YEARS. Suddenly I am getting: Unidentified Network: No Internet Connection with a public park bench (which it is a public network, I suppose) and a “!” over my perfect five bar signal. Therefore, we can rule out signal strength as the problem. I have a Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mino-Card, the card that came pre-installed with the laptop when I bought it brand new. Also, I know the Dell Wireless Card WLAN Utility is installed on this computer but I’ve always used Windows Network and Sharing Center to control the WiFi network I am connected to. I saw something somewhere about this maybe being the problem but since I’ve never used it I don’t think it has anything to do with my problem…
Talk about the router will be brief as it is my apartment complex they will not allow me access to the router so I know virtually nothing other than it is a Cisco wireless router, there are three office computers connected to it that run the internet just fine, and DCHP is enabled on both my laptop and the router (I may or may not have snuck in against their wishes to figure this one out…).
Also noteworthy are two things. One: I can connect to about a dozen other public WiFi networks around the city malls, coffee shops, bookstores, the college campuses, ECT. So connecting to WiFi is not the problem, this WiFi network specifically is (AKA. My NIC is NOT dead). I can also connect to my boyfriend’s private network at his house. The second thing worth noting is that once, I got the manager to cave and re-set the router for me. It connected! I re-started my computer and it still connected! I took my laptop back to my apartment, brought it back re-booted an hour late and it still connected! The next morning; back to the same old annoying problem. I asked him if they did ANYTHING with the computers at night and he said no.
As I stated, I have 6+ hours of troubleshooting pre-done on this problem. I have tried what I am able to with no access to the router (okay, maybe I snuck in and did a couple more things…) including:
Re-start laptop.
Re-start router.
Disable all firewalls/virus protection programs/ect.
Connect to the internet in Safe Mode.
Disable Bonjour.
Uninstall wireless card/re-install wireless card/un-install drivers/re-install drivers/update drivers.
Reset the TCP/IP stack.

Well one day i went onto my gaming PC and started playing, it randomly restarted and did some random windows check while starting. Then when i finally logged on i had no internet connection, my computer didnt sense there being a cable plugged in (Wired connection. The orange light wasn't on) So i figured i should just reinstall windows anyway (Blue screens, ect) After i reinstall i have the same issues. I have moved it to a different room and still the same thing. If i can't fix it then i plan to just buy a USB wireless but i would like to see what others think what i should do before i go making hasty decisions.
The computer say "Windows could not find a driver for your network adapter" I have tried many things i have found on this forum and nothing. So maybe a link to a driver? my Router is a Linksys WRT54GL and has always worked.

I just reinstalled windows 7 on my Intel i3 M380 laptop, and now I cannot connect to the internet wirelessly and I can't connect with a ethernet cable. In device manager, it says those devices aren't installed. I can't install them because the laptop has no internet. I can't seem to find the drivers for them either on intel. Seems like the reinstallation deleted my network adapter.. I can't find the correct link on intel.. I've tried like 3-4 on my laptop and none of them seem to work..

this might sound straight forward, but every other pc or console can find and connect to my router. This issue seems to happen about once every few months, sometimes it comes back by itself and reconnects completely fine.
There isn't a "user limit" on our router.Wireless adapter is dell wireless 1505 draft 802.11n wlan mini-card.
Have restarted PC and uninstalled and reinstalled the card.I tried to set the i.p address to static but it says "adapter disconnected" so won't allow me to edit any settings, despite it being able to find neighbour's wireless very easily.

I am running 32 bit Vista Home Basic SP1.I cannot get online. When I hover the mouse over the network icon in the notification area, it reads, "Connection status unknown. The dependency service or group failed to start". When I try to diagnose the problem, I can't because the Diagnostics Policy Service is not running. When I try to Start the service, access is denied (Error 5). Same scenario for the service DHCP Client. When I click on Start/Connect To - I get the msg Windows Cannot Find Any Networks Meanwhile, I keep getting warnings that my firewall is not enabled. When I try to enable it, I get a message that the Security Center can't turn it on.
Windows Firewall is not listed in services.msc.I ran a full Malwarebytes scan and it found nothing wrong. I did a system restore to several days before the problem, but even though the restore completed successfully, it didn't change my (non)results. The Network and Sharing Center does not display the familiar PC monitor icon with a line to the Network and another line going from the Network to the Internet. Instead it just has the word Unknown with the caption the depencency or groiup failed to start I have heard that this might be due to a permissions issue, but when I use regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServices and right click on Dhcp, select Permissions, I get an error when I try to add anything (either Local Service or Network Service).
The msg is c:Windowssystem32adsldp.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again..I have run sfc /scannow as well as chkdsk /f. Scannow reported that it found some problems but was unable to fix all of them. Chkdsk found and corrected about 10 errors, but neither of these programs worked with the issue.Additionally I have downloaded and installed Process Monitor on the PC, but the amount of information displayed is overwhelming, and I'm not sure what to check. Every time I try to start DHCP I get about 200 lines of info on the screen.
When I open a command prompt and run ipconfig /all, I get that DHCP is running, although it is not. I get the bogus ip address of 169.254.... I get a default gateway of zeroes. Is it possible that this behavior could simply be the result of a bad NIC card? Can I possibly run an in-place upgrade from Vista Home Basic to Vista Home Premium? If it's a Dell PC and I have the Dell Premium CD will it ask me for the product key? If so, will the key on the Basic PC work?

I had to re-install Vista on my Dell Studio 1535, and site the re-install i've not been able to connect to wi-fi because Vista apparently doesnt seem to recognise the wireless adapter. In Device Manager it lists the generic "Network Controller" and has a question mark next to it.
I've installed Dell System software, Dell Notebook System software, Quickset, chipset drivers and the R206848 file that includes the 1397 drivers, yet its still not recognised.

My XPS M1330 right now doesn't show any default gateway after i run 'route print' at Command Prompt. From my experience, once we have connect to the wireless SSID, when we do 'route print' at Command Prompt it is supposedly show like below right?and it mean that we get the clear routing to the internet right?however, on my laptop, i can't get the default gateway after i issue the 'route print' command at Command Prompt.on the other word, Default Gateway doesn't appear at my screen. so, i can't browse to the internet.

I recently swapped in a ssd for this laptop. I reinstalled windows Vista Home Pre and the drivers using the disks that originally came with the laptop. Things basically work. But I no longer seem to have a wireless adapter. Now, I'm pretty sure that swapping a hd and reinstalling software doesn't make a piece of hardware disappear. But I am at a loss. I loaded all the drivers. When I go to the network and share center, the window says there are not networks available. When I click on diagnose and repair, it tells me to install the wireless hardware.

I have an XPS M1330 with an internal Dell Mobile Broadband Mini-card 5720 VZW for Verizon. The Dell Mobile Broadband Utility (DMBCU) now reports an APPCRASH upon launch only when Windows Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) is installed. I'm certain it is due to IE8 and probably the required MeadCo Zeepe add-ins that are required for dmbcu.exe functionality. Upon uninstallation of IE8, the dmbcu.exe works flawlessly.
Is there any update or plan to update the DMBCU for the 5720 VZW minicard?

When I attempt to install R226750. It gets to a point where it tells me to activate bluetooth with the wireless switch. My wireless is always on but even when I toggled it on and off, it did not make a difference.
I also installed the DELL Radio switch patch for turning on my bluetooth and that has not worked. why my machine cannot turn on the bluetooth?
Just FYI - I am trying to install a mouse and printer which I am able to see on other bluetooth devices.

I got a Acer Laptop from my buddy that had windows 7 and when he had it his harddrive had crashed so he put in a older harddrive in it and installed windows Vista. Doing that caused the ethernet and network adapter to not work at all (says it need drivers) and I can't access the internet at all on it. I don't know if I can grab the drivers somewhere else or if I have to just count my losses.

I'm running Windows Vista on a Dell Laptop. Normally I just use wireless wherever I am but now I need to hard wire to the computer. It was initially working for a few minutes but then the connection dropped. Now whenever I plug the cable in, it shows it as being connected but comes up as local only so I can't browse or do anything.
I have tried:
-Restarting the machine
-Ensuring that windows was picking up the IP addresses automatically
-Checking the connection on another computer, works fine.
-Disabling the IpV6
-Disabling/Enabling the LAN connection in the Manage network connections setup
-Uninstalling, re installing the driver for the ethernet adapter
-System Restore
I've also tried in safe mode with networking and have disabled any firewalls that were running.Again, most of the time I never use the hard wired connection, but whenever I have, it hasn't had any problems until now.It always comes up as being connected, but says local only.
Here's the results from the Ipconfig:
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : a-PC
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Mixed
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
