I changed my operating system from vista to vista ultimate because the OS could not start. Now everything is working fine but I can not use my wireless connection. I recieve a code 10 error message stating that my network adapter can be found but the driver can not be installed.

Following the directions of a Dell technician while trying to resolve a separate problem, I deleted the partitions on my hard drive and manually reinstalled both Vista and all the drivers that were on the Dell CD that came with my laptop. When I tried connecting to the internet, Vista said I did not have any wireless networking hardware, but before the reinstallation it worked just fine. I am able to connect to the internet using a wired connection, but my wireless adapter still isn't working. I use Windows Vista 32-bit SP1
View 8 Replies View RelatedI got a Acer Laptop from my buddy that had windows 7 and when he had it his harddrive had crashed so he put in a older harddrive in it and installed windows Vista. Doing that caused the ethernet and network adapter to not work at all (says it need drivers) and I can't access the internet at all on it. I don't know if I can grab the drivers somewhere else or if I have to just count my losses.

I run broadbandspeedchecker and it shows download of 8 and then upload doesn't work at all and shows 0.I can browse some pages, but don't have full use of all pages like my CMSA admin, can log into my hosting using FTP, but can't access directories, Skype doesn't connect.Even stranger is it all works for a few seconds, even connecting Skype, but then stops again.I have completed a few system restores going back a week before the initial problem and still no joy!
View 7 Replies View RelatedI tried to do a a system recovery to my sis laptop a " emachine e620 " but the recovery cd didn't work so I used another vista cd the pc had " vista basic x86 " so I decided to install " vista ultimate x86 " everything was going fine until the pc said error setup cannot be completed I tried like 10 times so I decided to desable some devices and change the hard drive to in the bios to mointed I thik is call like that then the windows did a perfect install super fast now my problem is with the " network controller " I went to emachines drivers and support pick the rigth ones and my network controller still missing the drivers I can see the wifi saying on the screen off and on but not internet.

Now, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter. I went to the maufacturer's website on another computer and downloaded the driver and installed the driver on the laptop. However, it did not work. The blue "wireless" light on the laptop is "lit", however when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option.

I have the Inspiron N4010 and I recently had my LCD screen replaced everything seems to be working awesome...except all my drivers seem to not be working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for the device. I know I could just re-download the drivers except my internet network won't connect to wifi or router so I can not get on the internet to download the drivers!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am passing my computer on to a family member and wanted to give them a fresh install, so I used the Windows Vista (32-bit SP1) disc that came with the laptop and reinstalled Vista on the computer. Everything worked fine until I wanted to connect to the internet, then Windows said that there were no networks available. When I selected "Why can't windows find any networks" it said that "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured". I put in the Dell Driver's and Utilities CD that came with the computer and installed the drivers that seemed related to networks or communications, but the problem persists. I'm assuming it is some sort of driver issue (as the computer was using wireless internet before the reformat (just hours ago) and so the device itself seems to be working.

My computer, first, will not run the software CD automatically; I have to find it and double-click on it. Then, after the drivers are supposedly installed and I restart according to the instructions, my computer is unable to find them when I plug in the adapter. Additionally, when I try to start the driver program myself, it refuses to go.
