View 1 RepliesWe have 2 computers the main one running OS XP and mine running Vista. Previously, we had no problems with my computer finding the main on the network along with the printer. But now the main computer can see mine (printer and PC) but I cannot connect to the main. Mine does not see the printer nor the PC. We are both running the same virus protection, which is Norton. I really want to use the main computer's printer, which I was able to do until for some reason now I go into networking and it is not there. I know it is marked as shared. When I go into setup network printer and type the name of the printer a window pops up "The printer sever spooling service is not available". I have uninstalled the printer software and drivers and reinstalled but still not showing up on the network?
When I click print a document the printer I am looking for is there but it shows as offline, which it is not. I am not 100% sure but seemed to occur when we switched from Mckfee to Norton?
when i connect my laptop to a wireless HP Photosmart 4500 series printer, printer fails to print.I have to connect it with the USB cable to print.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy buddy just purchased a Sharp AR-M450 multifunction printer for his small business and it has the optional network card. He wants to take advantage of the network printing capabilities but we want to avoid having to run an ethernet cable from the printer to the wireless router. The entire network is wireless because running cables would be a huge pain in the building he is in. What could we use to connect the printer to the network without running cables?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a new computer delivered today and it will only connect with the ethernet cable, not wirelessly. My housemate's computer still connects fine, my old computer connected fine, the trouble shooting option doesn't work. I'm using windows 7. The computer recognises the wireless strength as 'excellent' but simply informs me that it is unable to connect.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWe have been working with this for a while. Our computer is a HP desktop Windows Vista 64 bit. It is wired to the router. We have a cable modem and a Linksys Wired/Wireless Router (Wrt54G). We also have other computers and video game systems that we connect off and on either wired or wireless. Every so often our internet will just cut out (much too frequently). All the lights are still on on the modem. On the computer(s) the little globe disappears and we are left with just the two computers sign in the tray. The modem still shows internet coming in though. We usually unplug the modem and router, wait and then plug it back in. We have tried unplugging everything before too and we still have this problem. I have checked Device Manager and unchecked the "turn off to save power" boxes. I also just today disabled Wake-On-Lan. (I saw that on another forum. Was that correct?) I went into our router and everything seems normal but I don't know how to use all of it. Earlier this summer I had to redo the entire computer bc the hard drive failed. I had to replace it and format the computer.
I noticed the other day that the computer was trying to connect through ethernet and wirelessly. I turned off the wireless and checked for it to be manualThis is getting old. It happens fairly often. Our ISP said that our modem was fine. They said it was probably the router but they always say that. We are supposed to have maybe 3 meg cable internet. I have done speed checks before and it is about half that. We live several miles from the station. Our internet also goes out in storms or wind but that goes out on the modem. This keeps happening and the modem acts like it is still connected.I need any suggestions on settings or anything I can try. This is really tiresome and I don't know where to look.
I need to connect my hp printer to my computer but I do not now my network security key. My network is WPA I think.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy home network is of 2 wired computers and one wireless computer (this one) whats strange is that even though i have internet access, I am unable to see any of the shared folders on the wired computers even though the wired computers can see each others shared folders and the shared folders on the wireless one.what im trying to do is connect to a printer, the wireless one preferably, but i can settle for the one thats directly connected to one of the wired computers if i could. i think this strange network blindness on my side might be part of the problem. this wireless one is a xp, the one with the direct printer is a vista, not sure on the last one, im thinking xp, but if xp doesnt have a 64 bit version, then i would guess 7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSmall office setup with a wireless modem/router. We have two computers that are identical HP Pavilion a6807c PCs running Vista Home Premium. Other computers in the office are a bit older and run either XP or Vista.Just purchased a new HP Officejet 7000 printer and connected it via a USB to one of the HP Pavilion Vista computers (which I will refer to as HP1). The printer works fine on HP1 using the direct USB connection.Set printer sharing, file sharing, and even public sharing on both HP computers (HP1 and the other one I will refer to as HP2). Workgroup name is the same. Can access HP1 and see the HP printer on HP1 from other computers in the office. However, when I try to connect to the printer from HP2 to HP1, it locks up HP1 and HP1 requires a hard reset. I tried installing the software/drivers on HP2, but HP2 still tries to install the drivers from HP1.I am not sure its a problem with HP1 as much as it is a Vista issue. The reason I say this is because I have been able to successfully use an XP computer (XP3) to connect and print to the Officejet on HP1.

View 9 Replies View Relatedwin xp I work at a junior high school. A lot of the computers are part of a work group so they can share printers.
I'm having problems connecting to a printer. It has worked for a long time, it's still my default printer, but when I try to access it, it gives me a spooling error.
Now here's why I think it's a network problem.I can't access the main computer's network location (the one hooked up directly to the printer). All the other computers come up on the networkjust fine. And the one in question is only able to access very few computers in the network browser. let me simplify:
computer A/ brother printershared computer B/no longer sees A on network A/ sees only a small portion of other computers on network B/ sees all computers but A
Again, I don't think it's a spooler problem. It probably gives that error because it's a default printer with a lost connection.
just bought a gateway dx4860 with wifi and a epson printer stylus nx230 wifi also. im having a problem to connect it wireless.
