I want to create a home network between a desktop (W7 64 Ultimate) and a laptop (W7 64 Home Premium), wireless.Router is TP Link TL-WR941N, AP (for desktop) is TL-WA701N. From the laptop the network map shows all devices, but the desktop is not connected to the AP.
View 11 RepliesWe have 2 HP Pavillon laptops working with a Netgear DG834GT wireless router and both working fine until a week ago. Now one cannot connect wirelessly (but can using ethernet cable) the other is working fine. ISP is Sky. Anti virus on both laptops is Bullguard. It does connect for a minute or so but with poor signal quality and speed of 1mb ps and then drops connection. At first it said unidentified network but after various attempts trying to resolve it does now actually say Home Network but ipv4 connectivity which should say internet says no internet access. It does go back to unidentified network and then back to home network intermitently. The only thing that has been done recently was that my husband connected a Samsung Galaxy 2 Tab to his laptop (daughters christmas present) to download items to it and whilst connected he noticed that Samsung Mobile MTP Device installed something. Could this have caused an issue. He cannot see how to remove this. Below is ipconfig from both laptops

We have 2 computers the main one running OS XP and mine running Vista. Previously, we had no problems with my computer finding the main on the network along with the printer. But now the main computer can see mine (printer and PC) but I cannot connect to the main. Mine does not see the printer nor the PC. We are both running the same virus protection, which is Norton. I really want to use the main computer's printer, which I was able to do until for some reason now I go into networking and it is not there. I know it is marked as shared. When I go into setup network printer and type the name of the printer a window pops up "The printer sever spooling service is not available". I have uninstalled the printer software and drivers and reinstalled but still not showing up on the network?
When I click print a document the printer I am looking for is there but it shows as offline, which it is not. I am not 100% sure but seemed to occur when we switched from Mckfee to Norton?
I was trying to configure a friend's router, but their laptop wouldn't connect wirelessly. Initially, I couldn't connect via ethernet cable either, but I went into the settings and set it to obtain an IP address automatically. After that, I could connect via ethernet no problem.I was able to successfully connect wirelessly on two different mobile phones.I still can't connect wirelessly to this router (well, technically it says it's connected to the network, but it won't connect to the internet, nor can I bring up the hub settings). However, I can connect to their old router no problem. I'm not sure whether the problem lies with the laptop or the router, and don't presently have another laptop to check

My desktop pc is connected via ethernet and it is working. I tried connecting to a neighbor's wifi and it worked on the same cellphone. WLAN light is flashing, the rest are solid. View 2 Replies View RelatedI received a new hard drive along with recovery discs from dell yesterday. They told me the new drive would be blank and I would have to run the discs. Not a problem. Installed the OS along with the drivers that had check marks next to them.
Today I plug in my home internet and it won't work. Unplug it and turn the wireless back on and it gets online just fine.
I'm having trouble connecting to my Belkin router wirelessly (Wired works fine). I try to get to the IP address (192.168.0.2 and every other version of that) but it does not connect. On the router only Security, Wired, and Router are lit up; Wireless, Modem, and Internet are dark. I have reached the end of my limited computer capabilities trying to fix this problem myself.

I resetted the router, could get to the Interface.. and now i can't And besides that, the internet connection get's picky to what lets work For example i could use gmail .. but not this page.. or instant messaging worked, but not browsing (and the speed was awful)

I'm having a big problem with my connectivity. I can connect to the internet (a BT Home Hub router) using my ethernet cable but not using wireless. My computer is searching and finding wireless networks, but when I try to connect to my router, it says limited access/connectivity.
I haven't used my computer in quite a long time (7 months) as it stopped working and is miraculously working again now (huzzah!) but the wireless does not, when it was perfect previously.
I have run IPCONFIG/ALL and the details are below. This is done with the ethernet cable attached.

Yesterday everything was working fine, but when I got home today I couldn't connect to my router. I tried connecting on my computer, my mac, and my netbook ALL couldn't even find the SSID. I directly connected my mac and netbook to my modem and was able to connect to the internet, so I know it's not an ISP problem. I then re-connected the WAN cord from my modem to the back of my Netgear Wireless-G Router WGR614V10. All the lights come on but I still can't find the router when I tried connecting wirelessly. When I connect an Ethernet cord to a LAN port on the router, I can get connection.

I've gone through my troubleshooting and the wifi light is on, so that's not the issue. I also updated my driver (says it's working fine) and even tried to uninstall and reinstall it. I am not sure what else to do. If I try to connect via wifi though, the computer recognizes all the available networks, including my own, but just won't connect. It says a cable is unplugged (which at that time it is, because it's supposed to connect wirelessly).I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3147sb Entertainment notebook, and it uses Windows 7.

However I am unable to connect the tv wirelessly but I am able to connect wired.I have tried changing various settings on the livebox including taking off the firewall and changing the channel nmber (frequency) and still unable to connect. The tv does pick up the SSID of the router but the router just doesn't seem to release an IP address within its range as I keep getting a 169.x.x.x instead of 192.x.x.x.
