I have tried ever driver suggested on every message board I have read and went to realtek's website as well as toshiba's and I cannot find this driver. I had to reload Vista and for some reason the driver for the ethernet controller is non-existent.

Is there a difference in an ethernet cable and an Ethernet networking cable? I have an Ethernet cable and a 6 port splitter I am trying to connect. I have 4 ports in the router that are in use. When I connect them to the splitter nothing s working.
I have a modem Scientific Atlanta 2100. I just installed windows 8 pro 64bit and when installing the driver to use the usb cable modem does not recognize it and simply not installed. I wonder if it is possible to use my usb cable modem or simply incompatible with my windows 8 64bit pro.
I am having a problem with my Realtek RTL8168D/8111D PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. It is not detecting my ethernet cable, and thus leaving me without internet on my desktop, after i updated its driver. The cable is not the problem as I have tested the cable with my laptop. I tried rolling back drivers, doing system restore and removing drivers with driversweeper and letting windows install the drivers again. However, none of these worked for me. I doubt the NIC is faulty as it was working before i updated the drivers. I am using windows 7 home premium 64-bit.
I have a WAG160N wireless gateway . Yesterday when i tried to power it on after a couple of seconds the power led was solid green and the Ethernet leds were blinking with no Ethernet cable attached to the router . The ethernet leds would keep blinking for minutes . I tried to use a screwdriver to do a hardware reset ( with power on ) and i noticed that the power led would start blinking green/red for minutes . I tried to use another wired router which i have for backup and it could connect to the internet normally without a problem.
What the green / red blinking power led means ( power led is green and then changes to red and then it starts over ) ?
I have a Dell XPS M1530 with Vista 32 bit. When i plug in a cable i get nothing, no error, and the comp does not recognize that a cable has been plugged in. I think that this started after my Hard drive failed and Dell replaced it but i'm not positive. No errors (? or !) in Device Manager and I can't find the Marvell 88E80XX 10/100 Ethernet Controller in device manager. I have attempted to Reinstall the drivers. The wireless is still working. I have one Light to the right of the port that is on all the time solid but no flashing with the cable in or out.
I have had my new computer up and running for 2 days amd have installed 2 games but i couldnt connect to the internet because my driver installation cd says "D: is not a valid win32 application" when i try to run it and i dont know what to do i have tried resetting cd to defaults, installing manually by going in to cd files and have tried running in safe mode but nothing works .i have windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS
I can't find the driver and utility, the manufacturer's web page only has the driver but not the utility and the card does not work, where to find the original installation cd for windows XP for me to download.
Because of a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Upon restarting, I found out that I cannot connect to the Internet using a wired connection (Ethernet cable). I tried going in the Device manager to try and troubleshoot the Network Adapters, but the only object in that category was "Intel (R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN". In a lower category, "Other Devices", I see two "Base System Device", one "Unknown Device" and one "Ethernet Controller", all of them with little yellow exclamation marks on the icon. I guessed the problem was the Ethernet Controller, so I tried "Update Driver...". It told me that it could not find a driver for my device.
Made a big mistake - Installed 64 bit Win7 professional on new HP that had 64 bit Win7 Home premium on it. Computer was a gift, bought as the last one available and was a demo model from Sam's club. Had no idea the ethernet card driver and the wireless software drivers would be lost, but they were, as was the driver for the USB hub. (Used an HP OEM disk purchased on line from Mountain software.)Where to get these drivers, and which ones do I need?
I Have A emachine with windows 7 and we had a storm and now i cant get on line so had a tec come to my house and he said my ethernet driver was not there i need to know how to burn one so i can put it back so i can get online?
I decided to connect my PC to the router VIA Ethernet cable because I got this really long ethernet cable and the router is pretty far so the signal is weak and I want to fix that, so It used to work before until I formatted my PC, now when I go into the internet drivers I do not see any Local Area Connection driver that I can enable.
Where I can find an "ASUS Wireless PCI Driver" for WinXP?I've found many but ONLY for Vista, 7 or 8. The ones that I've found say that their for XP, but when I download them and try to install them on my XP system,it says that the OS (XP) is NOT supported! They all happen to be for Vista.
i upgraded my computer from win 7 ultimate 32 bit to 64 and when i shut down my computer and power up the local area connecion dont recognize the ethernet card my ethernet card is 82578 dc gigabit not onboard card and i installed all the drivers to the ethernet card could it be my motherboard ? dp55wb?
My sony vaio E series VPCEB34EN ethernet driver does not work. It's a one year old machine. The hard disk crashed and my recovery disc also did not work. So, had to re-install. Now, no working ethernet port.Wireless works fine, but I need ethernet connection for my work?
I was updating my Graphics driver (Nvidia Geforce GT 440) today and it asked me to update the other NVIDA things as well that I have. Apparently one was an Nvidia Nforce ethernet driver or something... So pretty much I chose yes. "Installed the Nvidia Network Forceware" thing it said. All of a sudden, my icon down at the bottom right went to a yellow caution sign (Limited/no Connectivity)... Thats where I'm stuck. I tried some of the following:Uninstalled that Nvidia Network Forceware thingWent to Device manager and played a little with it from other forums. (This is how I got my "Caution sign" back...at first it wasn't even showing my local network connection.)System Restored about 7 times...Nothing is working and I really don't know what to do about this situation.[CODE]
I reinstalled windows xp (reformatted c). Installed the drivers in this order: Controller, Video, Audio, Network, modem. I selected the drivers that had the check beside them on the driver disk. Now, in the device manager, there is a yellow question mark beside the ethernet card and I can't connect to my broadband connection. Wire is attached... checked that twice. I have connectivity through other computers, so internet is working in the house.
My hard drive crashed. I have finished installing everything on a new drive that I have from my Dell installation CDs. However, in the Device manager, the Ethernet Contoller shows the the drivers are not installed. I can't seem to find them anywhere on the Dell web site.
when I pull the cover off of the computer - the outside of the Ethernet connection says "418D-J51 10/100 BT"
