Cisco Application :: Traceroute Not Working On ACE Version A2 (3.3)?

My setup is :
Source--- Router 1 ( ip 1.1.1.1) --ACE---router---cloud---customer---router--destination( ip 99.99.99.99).
Traceroute from client to destination shows the following:
traceroute 99.99.99.99
traceroute to 99.99.99.99 (99.99.99.99), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 1.1.1.1 (1.1.1.1) 1.10 ms 1.78 ms
2 99.99.99.99 (99.99.99.99) 1.01 ms 1.97 ms 2.511 ms
3 99.99.99.99 (99.99.99.99) 2.01 ms * 99.99.99.99 (99.99.99.99) 2.330 ms

So on this, the destination is 99.99.99.99.The first hop is the default gateway, which is 1.1.1.1.After that, the next step is the Cisco ACE.After that there are several hops to the destination.Looks like for some reason the Cisco ACE is not recording his ip.( For any destination traceroute result is the saame.ICMP is allowed in the access list and also ther is ICMP inspect in my config. access-list ICMP line 10 extended permit icmp any

there is an issue with tracroute from ASA 5505 with 9.0(2) - here is the running configuration [code] with this running configuration - from the LAN tracerouet to public IP, it is working fine. but once I traceroute from the LAN 192.168.225.x to the corporate networks via the IPSec l2l tunnel - it does not show any hop at all - even the inside interface of the ASA does not show in the traceroute.

I have a problem configuring URL redirect on ACE 30 (Version A4(1.0)).When a user enters IP address or a name of a service [URL], the ACE module should redirect him to the page [URL]. Here is my non-working config:

it works, ACE load balances to rservers. Of course, user must enter full url.With redirection configured, user recieves HTTP url redirect message with correct address [URL], but his browser does not display the page. Even directly entered full url does not display it while redirection is configured.Alternatively, does ACE30 already support url rewrite?

ACE version A2(3.6) is no longer available on CCO. Replaced by A2(3.6a).
1. Is version A2(3.6) a problematic version? If so, suggestion is to implement A2(3.6a) or revert to version A2(3.5)?
2. If ACE version A2(3.6) is OK, on ANM version 5.2, will this support this ACE version? It is not listed in SDT for ANM 5.2, just need confirmation.

I have a CAS array for Exchange 2010 configured to loadbalance on my Cisco ACE 47XX. My question is: Can I run a mixed VMware cluster version 3.5 and 4.1 on my ACE? I am experiencing is dropped RPC connections and I was wondering if that could be the cause of it or maybe I am misconfigured something on the ACE
Another question:Should I seperate the two cluster versions on their own serverfarm and than loadbalance the farms? What I mean is serverfarm 3.5 and serverfarm 4.1 and than loadbalance them.

I have installed the new version of DCNM Prime (Version: 6.2(1) and all installation process went well without any error or warning, DCNM SAN client works well I can loggin and manage my MDS and UCS, but I have big issue to run DCNM LAN client after successful logging I have window that freezing and nothing is displayed (see printscreen attachment) I reinstalled several time Java, installed four version different of Java, tried this client from three different PC and still have the same issue.

I'm using two 5500 WLCs with the version 7.2.110.0 When some AP with the part number AIR-CAP1552E-N-K9 associate with them, the 802.11g stays up and the 802.11a stays down.I saw the AP interfaces in Wireless --> All APs and the 802.11a is down and the regulatory domain show me not supported but the 802.11g is working normally.I follow this document from Cisco [URL] and i just have BR - Brazil to support this part number.

We have an issue with View db (Monitoring & Reports) backup on ACS, version 5.2.0.26. We have scheduled incremental backup daily and full backup monthly. Everything has been working well, but since yesterday following errors have appeared, and full and incremental backup stopped working:

My understanding is that for fully WLC 5508 integration with ISE 1.1.2, it needs Version 7.2.103.0. Question is if customer has 5508 with either 7.0.230 or 7.0.98, and ISE 1.1.2, can AAA part work? what part will not work, any potential issue if they don't upgrade 5508 to 7.2.103?

I have been searching to find out how to allow traceroute from an inside host to an outside IP address. I have found a few articles for IOS versions prior to 8.4 but nothing for 8.4. I can traceroute from the CLI of the 5510 just fine but from a windows host on the inside network all I get is Request timed out

We all know that MS traceroute and *nix traceroute work a bit differently. *nix works by sending UDP packets with low ttls to random high UDP ports.
Of course this creates a problem when trying to create an ip6tables rule where I want to allow traceroute. Anyone got something clean that will make this work? This is an example of current drops in my firewall log:

I've got an annoying problem with my ASA 5520.I have traffic going from the inside interface (security level 100) to the outside interface (security level 0) with a global PAT applied to the outside interface address for all inside traffic - and I can't seem to traceroute through the firewall.The ruleset is simple - basically, allow any IP from inside to outside. The NAT is simple - PAT all traffic unless exempted to the IP address of the outside interface.If I do the trace from my internet edge router it works fine - so I know it's not soemthing my uplinks are filtering - but if I do it through the firewall, I get perfect responses until the hop where it hits the firewall interface - then nothing.Is there something I am missing that I need to do to allow traceroute to just work with all the rest of the traffic?

We have a ASA 5505 and a 5510, that we are using site to site..I need to traceroute from the 5505-5510.. From the outside interfaces.. Don't want to do this through the site-to-site.I have temporarily added a few acl on the outside interfaces..
-access-list outside_in extended permit icmp any any unreachable
-access-list outside_in extended permit icmp any any time-exceeded
-access-list outside_in extended permit icmp any any echo-reply
when i traceroute it only goes one hop.. Maybe thats the way it suppose to be? I need to know all the hops between the outside interfaces on the 5505 to the outside interface on the 5510.

We have 2 ACEs configured as Active/Standby. FT vlan is configured directly using a crossover cable , not using a switch for the FT vlan.ACE is setup in routed mode ,vlan 29 is client vlan and 28 is server vlan ,both are being trunked on ACE-- trunk 3750 switch.
When I shutdown the port on 3750 for the primary ACE , data connectivity wise ,primary ACE is down ,but the secondary is not taking over ,and also when I do sh ft group status on the secondary ACE,I see the status of STANDBY_HOT and the peer state: ACTIVE.

I have ACE 4710 in context mode. I am doing internet browsing (Port 80) redirection to two proxy servers (Transparent Proxy) as well as I am using this ACE box for multiple other servers load balancing.
I have multiple policies applied on my LAN interface (VLAN 300) where all the users and servers are connected.
Now I am facing problem with one application (PLATTS) which is oil company related application. This application is working fine while directly connected with Internet (extrenal internet connection) or by giving explicit proxy in the user browser.
But In transparent proxy This application is not working and my company policy only allow the transparent proxy not explicit proxy.
Now if on my interface vlan 300 i will remove the service-policy input PM_MAIN_BCPROXY my application will start working but i cant redirect the port 80 traffic to my proxy servers which is also my requirement.

This application use multiple destinations for connectivity and I have even tried by passing the destination IP addresses by making bypass policy but still no luck.

I'm working as a network engineer for a service provider, and we had just gone through a pretty large scale upgrade throughout our network and service.But not long after the upgrade (or maybe ever since the upgrade, we can't confirm this because we probably missed it out due to many other links to be tested), we met a peculiar problem.Everything seems to be running fine most of the time, but there has been some weird 'ghost-like' activity which have been causing inconsistent network disruptions. At times, certain portions of the network can't communicate with other subnets.And most obviously is the problem with a continuous ping and a traceroute simultaneously. To show up the ASA as a hop in a traceroute, one can use the 'set connection decrement-ttl' feature in a policy map.During my tests I recognized, that this behaviour only affects IPv4 traffic.
An IPv6 traceroute still does not show the ASA as a hop.How can I configure the ASA to show up as a hop in an IPv6 traceroute?The ASA is a 5520 with v8.4(1) installed.

implementation of the cisco CSS 11501 boxes available as spare on our site into production for an application evry thing worked as expected. i was able to telnet the active/master box and was able to console both master and backup box from the console port.however a week post the activity im faced with this weird problem where im not able to take console or the telnet access of my primary/active box.The boxes are working in BOX-to-BOX redundancy and now im not able to telnet or console my active/master box. The telnet and console window prompts me for username and password and after entering the credentials nothing happens. no prompt or no error message is displayed.
The telnet primary authentication is via tacacs and secondary is via local. however for console im not using any method for primay authentication and local for secondary authentication. however i can successfully console my backup box. below are my obsrvations 1. the left and right status LED on the active CSS box is OFF.- it means my CSS 11501 failed and has no power. 2. upon firing the rcmd command with show line command on backup box i see that the telnet sessions and console session is established with the master box3. the redundancy state of the active box says it is master and has not changed state since my last activity, no application issue reported, all the services are active on the active box and also i can ping the active box ip address from my backup box over which box to box redundancy is established. This confirms the active box is functioning well 4. i initially thought the telnet sessions are not getting cleared, however the show line cmd with the rcmd cmd on the backup box confirms this is not happening. now im stuck as the active box cannot be accessed at all via console or telnet. i was thinking of below steps to be carried out.1. to failover the boxes and make the backup as master2. then try to take the faulty box off the network and troubleshoot (are there any other commands that i should use to troubleshoot)3. if nothing works try rebooting the box and check
NOTE: the software running is version 7.20.30.3 with standard feature set. we are not using cvdm or the CSS GUI. we could access the css initially on CSS gui and that is also not working now.

I have a requirement to load balance OWA 2010 inbound connectivity to 2 CAS servers using a ACE 4710 with sticky sessions enabled.
The CAS servers are currently responding on 80 or 443 at this moment in time. Eventually I want to off load the SSL to the ACE 4710, its currently running on the CAS servers. I need to enable sticky sessions to keep the session to the same CAS server for each internet based connection. I also have a proxy enabled for inbound connectivity so I cannot use source IP.
Here is my configuration but it doesn’t seem to be working, i am currently testing with port 80 connections not SSL.

Traceroute Output, is the output that alternates between 1.1=>10.1=>1.1 normal granted the two routes are "equal metric routes for the same routing procotol in use" or is that "round robin behavior" indicative of a routing problem?
