My understanding is that for fully WLC 5508 integration with ISE 1.1.2, it needs Version 7.2.103.0. Question is if customer has 5508 with either 7.0.230 or 7.0.98, and ISE 1.1.2, can AAA part work? what part will not work, any potential issue if they don't upgrade 5508 to 7.2.103?

My questions is: If I want to setup Active-Passive redundancy, do I need to manually setup the 2nd one exactly as the 1st one and put them in the same group? Or is it a way to copy all of the configs I made on the 1st one over to the 2nd one?

First question is how many MAPS can connect to a RAP generally?Secondly how can I block other cisco AP's that are not in my mesh network from trying to connect to my AP's

Mesh child node '58:35:d9:aa:db:4f' has changed its parent to mesh node '88:f0:77:b7:c6:e0' from mesh node '88:f0:77:b7:c6:c0'.
Mesh Node '58:35:d9:aa:db:4f' failed to join controller, MAC address not in MAC filter list.
I have only added the MAC addresses of my AP's in to my AP Policy under security. Would these other AP's affect the mesh in any way?What I am seeing is the AP's constantly changing the child to parent relationship. I have inherited this network and they have about 20 AP's all within a square mile which is absolutely overkill. Would this close proximity of AP's together be the cause for the constant child parent changes?
How close should I have RAP's together. The network was setup so two raps are about 20 metres apart and the AP's on one side connect to RAP1 and the other to RAP2?How do you deal with Radar? The install is pretty much next to an airfield with radar running and a few times I have seen all the AP's disconnect and change channels.
I have upgraded my WLC 5508 from 7.0 to 7.4 and the AP 1310 no longer can associate to WLC.
Seems that the AP doesn't work with WLC ver 7.4
Except changing these APs to autonomous mode, any other alternatives?
Besides, if we change them to autonomous mode, can Prime Infrastructure manage/monitor these APs?

Now I´ll install on a new site a 5508 local WLC with a newer IOS version which is installed on the other controllers ( Guest and local ). Later I´ve planned to update also the other controllers to the same IOS version. Now my question is, must I upgrade all other controller at the same time ?

I am using WLC 5508 version 7.0 facing issue while enabling global multicast mode .
client machine stops DNS resolution after some time once we enable global multicast mode on WLC .websites are opening with IPs but not with DNS names .
DNS resolution starts working immediately after disabling multicast mode on wlc .
I'm using two 5500 WLCs with the version 7.2.110.0 When some AP with the part number AIR-CAP1552E-N-K9 associate with them, the 802.11g stays up and the 802.11a stays down.I saw the AP interfaces in Wireless --> All APs and the 802.11a is down and the regulatory domain show me not supported but the 802.11g is working normally.I follow this document from Cisco [URL] and i just have BR - Brazil to support this part number.

I lose connection to both devices after the reboot and then have to console in and disable redundancy manually to regain connectivity. They have at the moment one old 4404 with about 70 APs.So the bought the new 5508 with HA Pair.For the HA i will need 7.3 i read in the High Availability (AP SSO) Deployment Guide.There are now two 7.3 Versions, or i can choose the new 7.4 Version.

Tacacs not working for 3 new 5508 WLC's...working fine for 6 old 4400 WLC's.
Before 7.116 code upgrade...I remember 5508 was working on and off and now they are not.
Same configs on SW, WLC and ACS.

We had cisco 5508 with 6.0.182.0All 1041 and 1310 worked fine with 5508. Then we upgraded controller to 7.2.110.0.
1041 still worked, but 1310 - no.

I have a new 5508 that I am setting up. My first one from scratch.
Interfaces:
managment -> 10.10.10.10 ->dhcp 10.10.10.1
voice -> 10.10.7.1 ->dhcp 10.10.10.1
guest -> 192.168.1.2 ->dhcp 192.168.1.2
Local DHCP (via the 5508) is for the guest network while the management and voice use the Windows DHCP server.
My problem, Voice and guest work fine. I have two SSID's (one 802.1X and the other PSK) that use the management interface that will not get an IP. I have enabled dhcp proxy from the cli on the controller. I tried with the management VLAN tagged and untagged.
If we have a mixed environment of 4400 and 5500 controllers will the office extend features still work or will we have to run a seperate wireless domain from the 5508 for the aps that we need office extend on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am beginning to get many emails from users who have recently upgraded to OS6 and saying now they cannot connect to our open access wireless network. We use a separate server that users must agree to a user agreement page and they say they get it, but after agreeing, it goes blank and they cannot connect. I am using mostly Cisco 3502's with the 5508 controller using 7.0.112.0 IOS version. Nobody in our IT department has yet to test OS6 yet.

Two 5508 controllers have been installed in our DMZ for resilience and have been placed into a separate Mobility group. All controllers (internal and external) have been linked together as mobility neighbours in a full mesh and a new SSID for Web Guest traffic has been anchored to the controllers in the DMZ.
Web page authentication works perfectly fine, but I cannot for the life of me get the MAC filtering override to work, i.e. if a MAC address is present, do not redirect to the splash page for web auth. I know I can get around this by just creating two separate SSIDs. But the business is used to just having the one SSID for all guest traffic. Is this a known limitation when anchoring SSIDs to controllers in the DMZ ?

I have installed the new version of DCNM Prime (Version: 6.2(1) and all installation process went well without any error or warning, DCNM SAN client works well I can loggin and manage my MDS and UCS, but I have big issue to run DCNM LAN client after successful logging I have window that freezing and nothing is displayed (see printscreen attachment) I reinstalled several time Java, installed four version different of Java, tried this client from three different PC and still have the same issue.

I just installed a WLC 5508, running 7.4 code. I can not seem to get the Airplay to work with apple TVs. The iPads and Airplay are on the same wireless network. What can I do to get it to work? Is there any documentation on how to get Airplay to work?

On my controller the client machine I'm using appears but the radius authentication doesn't appear to be working. Is there anything on the controller I can do to verify that the request is even being sent to my Microsoft IAS server? The log on the server doesn't show any requests from the controller so my early days guess is the controller isn't actually sending it.
