Before running firmware asa722-k8.bin and asdm-522.bin ASDM "asdm location" config lines were created when we created a network object. After the upgrade to asa722-k8.bin and asdm-522.bin this dissapeared.We recently upgraded to asa724-k8.bin and asdm-524.bin which brought those config lines back.So if "asdm location" is needed, if not can we make sure those lines wont pollute the config file?

Is it telling the ASA-5540 that the IP address is allowed to connect to the device using ASDM?If that is the case why does 'asdm location xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'get denerated for every network object I create?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a server that I need to open up some ports on to allow access to the new internal Sharepoint server we're setting up. I've been having some issues getting the ports open like once I put the commands in and save them that server suddenly stops allowing outbound traffic. After looking at a few things I noticed while I was looking at the config file that the ASDM location is showing 2 IP's, both are the same as the server I'm trying to open ports for one being the private IP and the other is the public IP I'm trying to use. Is this the reason I'm having problems when I try to open those ports to my server? Do I need to use both a different private and public IP for this server so I can get my ports to work? The programmers selected these IP's so if I need to change them I'll let them know in case they need to make changes for the Sharepoint setup. This is on an ASA 5505.

I watched a video on YouTube stating that upgrading the ASA is easiest if you upgrade ASDM, then the ASA. Problem is, I don't think I can upgrade ASDM first because I don't see a version that is compatible with ASA 7.2.x and 8.0.x.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got a PIX 501 off ebay and im trying to upgrade it to have an ASDM image on it.Ive downloaded every copy of the ASDM image i can get my hands on, and when i transfer it to the PIX when its up and running i get out of memory, If i do it through monitor mode, i get the error "bad magic number" no matter what i transfer to itI can transfer a new image to the PIX (a non asdm one through monitor mode.

handshake_failure.

I have successifuly upgraded ASA and ASDM image. My question is how to make it to boot it as default when you do a factory reset of the device. For the ASA image I found out that it will boot the first image it founds on the flash, so I left only the latest bin file and if I do factory reset it boot the latest. But for ASDM it still boots the old one, because there is no "asdm image disk0:/asdm-645.bin" command in the config. I`m not sure how, because I only left the new ASDM bin image. Is there any variable or something that still points to old asdm image?
My ASA version is 8.4(2) and ASDM 6.4(5). The old one was ASA 8.2 and ASDM 6.3.
My macbook pro recently upgraded to the last version of java and now I can open the ASDM for my Cisco ASA 5505, when I try open, only show me the window of Java 7 ..., and don't load the ASDM.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe got some serious issues to get APs running on a WLC 5508 (7.0.116.0). The APs were added and configured in the WCS, but no SSID can be found by clients (802.11b/g Network Status is enabled).
The radio led is blinking green on the APs which indicate that the "access point location command" has been invoked. What's the meaning of that?

We need to get two diferent profiles: one for networking administrators, who are going to manage routing, acls and have the root for ASA, and the other profile is going to be for the vpn administrators. As I read from the ASDM 6.0 user guide is posible define command privilege level. So do you consider posible to define a particular level for all the command related with ipsec vpn (Create, Modify and Delete) and asociate that particular level with the user for vpn administration.

I would like to configure an ASA5512-X in firewall transparent mode, but I am having trouble getting ASDM to lauch when I do.
I have created a BVI interface with an IP address, and I hve enabled the mangement interface, but ASDM does not lauch when I enter the IP adress of the BVI I created.
Apprently you need to use the bridge-group command to assign an interfce to a bridge group. When I enter this command at the (config-if) prompt for Management 0/0, this command is not recognized.
What are the general steps for configuring the management interface to be able to launch ASDM in transparent mode?
I would just like to to open UDP port 123 in the ASA 5510 Firewall so that our Primary Domain Controller could use this port to sync time with an external time source. We have already added an access rule for this port under the firewall configuration in ASDM 6.4 and this port was also allowed in the inbound and outbound rule of the PDC's Firewall but it seems that it was still blocked.

•1. Connect cable to Management port.
•2. Open browser and type https://192.168.1.1/asdmin and download the ASDM-IDM Launcher v1.5(55) and install my laptop(OS: windows 7)
•3. Connect asdm-idm launcher we put IP Address: 192.168.1.1 and username, password enter.

"Priority command is not supported in output direction for this interface" and when I try to add service-policy output VOIP on a V LAN interface I am getting following error:
MQC features are not supported in output direction for this interface. Will I need to change something after upgrading to SUP32..

I've configured a couple of ACL rules via CLI in my ASA. When i checked in the ASDM, it only shows the basic rules that was configured by default and did not show the rules that i've created.

im working on a small project on a asa 5505 and beacuse i do most of the work from the outsidei want to open up asdm without vpn.
i have it working on another asa and the only difference is the rom version.the one not working is 8.0(5) - 6.2(3) and the one working is 8.0(4) - 6.1(5) did they do some changes?

When I issue 'show flash' I can see that there are upgrade_startup_errors.log files, but cannot access them.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been struggling to get ASDM (PDM) installed and running on my PIX 515e. The PIX IOS version is 7.2.4(30) The ASDM version I've copied to flash is 524.
I've followed the Cisco documentation verbatim, however I still cannot connect via the Java ASDM client or via http. When I try to connect via http, my PIX shows the following error: "tcp access denied by acl from..." I do not this this is a security (ACL) issue as I've tested after opening everything up and still no luck.

When I am launching Internet explorer it just said cant connect Chrome shows connection with 192.168.1.1 is was interrupted but i can ping asa and backward .
i have test to access the firewall of ASA5510 with ASA845-K8/asa902-k8bin + asdm-712.bin +JAVA6 / 7, is completely no problem
When i try to install a new ASA5505 existing IOS is asdm825-k8 and also asdm-712 with JAVA7 is not allow to access the firewall with ASDM
After i type in username password, it stuck on the page loading , sometimes it will come up with cannnot to the device something like that.
telnet and SSH is no problem, i still can download the IOS with TFTP.
I think may be the java problem, because i just to connect with wrong ip and password, it also stuck in this page.
