I am having a wierd case, where in i have a 5520 and i am not able to ssh into that firewall. When did a capture on that firewall it shows my connection is getting reset as soon as i try to ssh into the box. Given below is the config for ssh into the firewall.

I am trying to configure a server(192.168.5.50) in DMZ(192.168.5.0/24) to be able to communicate with a domain controller(10.5.44.220) in the inside network(10.5.44.0/24). I made some configuration using ASDM(not familiar with the CLI) but not working and it caused existing NAT not to work, for example RDP(TCP 3389) connection to 38.96.179.220
The things I am trying to achieve are
1. two way commucation between 192.168.5.50 in DMZ and 10.5.44.220 in Inside for SecureAuthPorts and SecureAuthOutbound service groups
2. NAT for 192.168.5.50 mapping 38.96.179.50 for the service groups mentioned above
3. NAT for other hosts already existing

On our cisco 3750 switches we can take config backups with the archive command. After every "write mem" it rights the config to our backup server. We would like to do this also for our asa 5520 with version 8.2(2). I also searched in the command reference guide, but I can't seem to find the proper command to do it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've gotten to the point where I can test against active directory and get in, also I can get AD groups from my server on the ASA. My problem, I can't connect in via my AnyConnect client on my Android. I immediately get a "log in failed" and I know I'm using the right username/pass. Doing a little troubleshooting, I have attached my AnyConnect debug log and the results of the "debug ldap 255" command on the ASA. Also, I've used ldp.exe to determine I can connect in with the username/password combo I'm using.Combing through the AnyConnect logs I see a few instances of "global error unexpected" but no Google searches have brought up anything useful.

I am having a problem configuring a VPN connection from a 1721 router to an ASA5520. The router has already been configured, but I have been asked to setup the VPN.I think the issue is because they are using a Loop back interface (which I have never configured for before).
The "sh crypto isakmp sa" command shows:

5.6.7.8 1.2.3.4 QM_IDLE 4 ACTIVE
where 5.6.7.8 is the ip on Loopback0, 1.2.3.4 is remote peer ip. Pings to the remote network don't work.

The ASA is running ASA 5520 version 8.2(5)33 and is in an active/standby failover pair.when trying to push out the new 3.1 from the pair to windows 7 and XP machines, he gets the error "Failed to get configuration from secure gateway. Contact your system administrator". When he tries to push 2.5.2014 and 2.5.6005 out from the pair this works fine.When pushing the 3.1 out from a stand-alone test ASA 5520 it works fine.

I recently configured WCCP with a Sophos Web Filter on my network it works good but the problem I am having is I have two 5520s so I am directing the device to look at 2 different IP addresses and since the devices are in an Active/Passive failover. The problem is because the second device is in a passive failover it is not responding which is throwing connection errors to my Sophos device. I know you can have a single management connection for the ASA's but is there a way to have a single IP for the ASAs for the WCCP?

I have two Cisco ASA 5520's running software version 8.2(2) set up in a HA pair. The L2L vpn is set up and works as expected between this site and another. The issue is that every few months, one subnet of the VPN, the same one all the time, stops forwarding/receiving traffic. The device in the remote location is not a Cisco device but I am certain the issue lies with the ASA as when I fail over to the slave device the VPN works again, failing back again however stays with the subnet still not passing traffic. I need to reboot the device before it starts forwarding traffic on the subnet again.

We duplicated all the addressing and routing statements from the old router. Now the VPN still connects but the outside host can't ping the inside host anymore. The outside host can't ping any further than the inside interface of the router (10.4.1.1). The Router can ping the outside host, so I know the tunnel is up.I suspect there is a difference in the OS versions that is tripping us up. Perhaps in the way that we have reused the 10.x.x.x address range?

We are having an issue with the the ASA RDP2 plugin, it has been working correctly since the installation of the ASA 2 years ago.1 month ago the functionality stopped working in IE activeX. I performed an upgrade of the ASA software in an attempt to fix, unfortunately this has not resolved the issue. Reimporting the plugin has not solved our issue either.
When using the Java client, there is a warning that -"The terminal server disconnected before licence negotiation completed. Possible cause: terminal server could not issue a licence"When a user clicks on a bookmark or types in a server name that is associated to the RDP2 plugin, the page timeouts and goes back to the home screen of the clientless SSL vpn.
While user's connecting through AnyConnect, AnyConnect doesn`t check endpoint attributes. I've configured checking process of "notepad.exe", but it doesn`t work. There is no checking process of "notepad.exe" in output debug dab trace (see attach).

The reason I ask is that I recently upgraded a firewall from an ASA5505 to an ASA5520 on a small network where the only outside connectivity was a single 10meg Internet circuit with an IPSEC VPN (not landed on the firewall but on a router) to another site.
When I swapped out the firewall the users noticed a big improvement. The firewall is not doing anything out of the ordinary - no IPS or VPN, just standard state full inspection.
I have an asa 5520. How would I configure my dedicated management interface to be able to route off subnet while the firewall is in transparent mode?

The ASA Firewalls 5520 are having the software release 8.4(3)8 installed.When somebody tries to connect thru the Identity based firewalls from a citrix published desktop environment (PDI) the connection is not possible. Checking the ip-of-user mapping on the firewalls (show user-identity ip-of-user USERNAME) mostly doesn't show the mapping of the USERNAME and the PDI the user is logged in. The user-of-ip mapping of the PDIs IP-address shows mostly other users, which then are used to authenticate the acces thru the firewalls.
What is interesting, that on the AD Agent using "adacfg.exe cache list | find /i "USERNAME"" i can't see the PDIs IP-address neither because it is mapped to another user.Is Citrix Published Desktop environment supported to connect thru Identity based Firewalls? How AD Agent, Domain Controllers and Firewalls are working together? On the firewalls with "show user-identity ad-agent we see, the following:
-Authentication Port: udp/1645
-Accounting Port: udp/1646
-ASA Listening Port: udp/3799

I use a little tool where I can user a spoofed address, with a cluster shell and attack the firewall interface with the source of 127.0.0.1 ore the ip address of the interface as the source and destination. Then I get a cpu load of 89% with only two host. With IP tables I can use kernel processes to prevent this. But I don´t find anything for ASA.

I have a serious problem with my corporate firewall, witch is an ASA 5520, fv 8.3, with 8 +1 interfaces. It suddenly started to crash every 10/20 minutes and rebooting alone.
First of all I checked system resources witch are in a very low usage state. I also checked interfaces errors, but nothing strange come out o from error counters analysis. I tried disabling logging and all the service policy rules configured, but nothing changed.
Nothing changed and firewall continue restarting by itself.
