Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750 / EIGRP Router Won't Update Neighbor With New Network
Apr 18, 2012I am working at a client site today on a routing issue. I am currently working on an issue where a 3750 switch running EIGRP will not update its neighbor router when a network statement is added to the eigrp instance.The neighbor is a 3825 router.
Both the switch and the router have a common network which is 192.168.36.0/24.
Both the switch and the router are in a neighbor adjacency.
Both boxes have "no auto-summ" in the routing configuration instance.
I can run debugs on both routers (debug eigrp packets) and then I can watch queries and updates when I issue "auto-summ" or "no auto-summ". Also I see a "graceful restart" for the peers when this is done.I had an expectation that when I added the network (this is just an arbitrary network for testing, which is 172.16.69.0/24). I wanted to watch this network being sent in an update to the neighbor router.When I add the above mentioned network, there are no updates packets sent from the 3750 to the 3845. I have not had success to this point trying to resolve. I have followed the Cisco document "Troubleshooting EIGRP Flow Chart", but have exhausted all it has to offer and now it is at the point where it is telling me to contact TAC.

Jul 4, 2012I got 10 Catalysts 3750 (all of them identical) and I got the IOS Update. Anyway I only have service contract for 4 of them.
Am I allowed to update all of them? Or only the four devices which have the service contract?

It runs version IOS 15.0(1)M1 software, which seems to work well, but I'd like to download a firmware update that addresess some of the security flaws in this software. When I tried the download process it told me I need to buy a service contract first? Is this right, or am I doing something wrong?

know if I could use the latest 12.2? Or has the hardware changed with the IOS versions?
Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750-X Switch Freezes After IOS Update?
Mar 27, 2013I have a 2 member 3750-x switch stack that was upgraded to 15.2 today via CNA. All the files were transfered and expanded correctly and it got to the step where the switches needed to be reloaded but on reload they froze.
I connected a console cable and power cycled the stack. I see the flash initialize and then the IOS image start to load. Lots of @ symbols and then nothing. It just sits there. The system light on the switches, while flashing green during the load, is now off. No light at all. But fans are running and the process will repeat itself if power cycled.

May 28, 2012, I am trying to change the default IP address in vlan 1 on a cisco 861 but everything I do so my connection via SSH hangs and all ssh/telnet attempts are refused.
my commands are as followed:
int vlan 1
ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
[hangs]
my current vlan 1 address is 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
my vlan1pool on dhcp
is an address range of 192.168.1.0/24
do i need to update something in the authenication to allow connections from 192.168.1.0/24 instead of 10.10.10.0/24

Mar 25, 2012I've recently tried to update the modem firmware on an 887M that is actually using an Annex M service and after rebooting to kick in the new modem firmware, the router loses sync. I've tried this with various other 877, 877M, 887 and 887Ms on normal Annex A services with no problems, but this Annex M service doesn't like it at all.

Oct 19, 2011I am having trouble updating the epld image on the 10gb Module of Nexus 7k. we have two nexus and two 10gb module. Tried the other one and it worked fine. its jsut the first one that has problems with the epld image. i have tried on both the nexus on two different slots and still the same error.

Mar 19, 2013This feature doesn't work as advertised on the Release Notes and other documentation. After 12 hrs of lab work and a tlwo day support call to TAC, they finally came back to me that:
IOS Upgrade works well if you use the command force-reload, without force-reload, it won't work. --"of course with this command the complete stack will go down and the purpose of RSU will not serve"
Then they pointed me to a bug that I could not find in the bug tracker unless I searched by the bug ID number ?? CSCua78897
Unfortunately this bug has a closed status and is not slated to be fixed ?

Feb 5, 2012Basically I have netflow which i'm trying to use to export to a netflow collector. I'm pretty sure that the 3750-X does support netflow. I've recently updated IOS on the 3750-X to support flexi netflow.For some reason the netflow packets are not being exported to the server. Mar 9, 2013We recently installed Cisco 6509-E with dual Sup 720-BXL. We are using this switch on internet Edge. Internet connection is terminating on 10GIG fiber port.We do have following line cards installed.
1. 10 GIG * 4 port line card
2. 1 GIG * 8 port line card
3. Empty
4. Empty
5. Sup 720-3BXL
6. Sup 720-3BXL
7. 1 GIG * 48 ports
8. 1 GIG * 48 ports
9. 1 GIG * 48 ports
We do have 2 GB internet pipe.We are running load test sending http port 80 request and when load reach to arround 100 to 200 mbps and connections from out side to inside 80,000 switch start reponding very very slow and start packet loss and when I try to ping from one server to second server it show normal ping but if I tried to ping gateway IP of server which is SWITCH IP it show packet loss and very high letancy.
Switch also throw message "No memory available: Update of NVRAM configuration failed"

Upon reading release notes found that there are two versions of release notes 1 day apart, the one 02 Sep 2012 saying that WS-C3750-48PS is not supported in this version. Then in release next day 03 Sep 2012 that note has been removed. Which one is correct. Is it supported with my model of switch or not.also unable to update boot path in the stack switches, "switch all" is not supported in the current IOS. Master switch has new boot path but unable to change in slaves.

Hardware is E1000 v2 according to sticker on back.The firmware update failed (no reason given) and the router now hangs in limbo where all it does is flashing the power LED.I set my PC to 19?2.168.1.2 and TFTP'd the firmware over to 192.168.1.1 - no errors reported and 192.168.1.1 is pingable. Held reset for 30s, then powered down the router for another 30s. On power-up the router still flashes the power LED.
Wifi Down After Router Firmware Update

1 - Motorola Modem (horrible ISP)
2 - Dlink DIR 655 wireless router (about 2-3 years old)
3 - 2 laptops (windows 7/both)
4 - DirecTV broadband box (can't remember how that hooked up to the router?)
5 - Playstation 3
6 - (3) DTV sat receivers
The problem started while trying to connect the PS3 to the existing network. Only one laptop is wifi, the other laptop and Ps3 are in my room and wired in to the router, and the strange little DirecTV box is in the wired mix(for on-demand i guess?) The PS3 could not log-in to the PSNetwork(still can't), but it could browse the web just fine. So I start manually typing in IP addresses, 6 IP's in all, including the sharing of 3 DTV boxes that show up on the network on my admin laptop. Didn't work, so I get into the DLink router URL and start opening up ports that PSNetwork uses. At this point I think I have it figured out, then I did a firmware update on the router. My laptop, the PS3(internet, no PSNetwork) and even the little DTV box was working fine, all wired in, using 3 of the four ports. The old lady's laptop in the living room not only couldn't get on-line, it couldn't detect a wifi network? So try to set up a new real quick before I left this AM.. No beans!! I looked at the specs for the router, the firmware is up to date but from early 2010, and the features say "NO" to gaming support..
Do I get another router that can handle all the devices and is PS3 friendly, if that's even a thing!? I can't roll back the firmware update cause I wasn't able to back up the settings, and honestly theres a good chance I did something really bad as far as trying to tweak that router to open up ports for the specific IP address that goes to the game console. We'll call it 191.55.55.99. When I thought I was finished, the PS3 IP address had switched to 191.55.55.98? So it dropped down a number, I thought it was static, and all my efforts were for the --99 IP address, basically I have network issues consisting of Satalite tv boxes, a public DTV share folder, a video game console, one wired and one wireless, and a router that I WANT TO SET ON FIRE!

I figured: 'Hey, no big deal, I'll just reset it.' I tried multiple times to no avail.I found out that is was a software issue. I looked up how to update the software, and what do you know? The only way I found to update the software was through the online interface.So, basically,I can't log into my router, can't reset it, and to do so, I need to access the interface which I can't do. Cannot Update Firmware Because Netgear Router Is Owned By VM
Apr 23, 2011so I've recently reinstalled my OS (windows 7 32bit) because I got a BSOD for some uknown reason and it kept booting to NTFS file checker, anyway this is irrelevant.since the reinstall, ive been getting pretty annoying latency spikes. The only game I've got installed ATM is counterstrike: source so no I haven't tried out any other games.My connection consists of a netgear wireless G router routing a 10mb virgin media connection to my belkin wireless G USB adapter.my drivers are all up to date, including the adapter. I cannot update my firmware because the netgear router is owned by VM and they don't allow firmware updates from netgear (I've tried and failed to update) for some unknown reason.
In games, sometimes it runs smoothly, and other times I get really bad latency spikes. It will all be running fine at about 30ping but then it will lag and shoot up to 300/350. it will then keep doing this intermittently, rendering the online game unplayable as I'm being owned by AWPers everywhere. It's definitely me as other people in the server also on VM are experiencing no lag. On top of this, I sometimes find my browser will run extremely slow on occasions, as well as downloads becoming slow on some occasions.

This supports a 802.11g frequency, though I'd like to update my home network to 802.11n. My concern is this, is it worth buying a new router/hub that supports this frequency if the other devices in my home are still using 802.11g, i.e. Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Laptop etc. Would it be worth instead to purchase a homeplug kit instead?

Nov 7, 2012I have an ASA 5510, with Ethernet0 connected to Internet via a T1 line, Ethernet1 connected to LAN1, and Ethernet2 connected to LAN2. LAN1 & LAN2 are independant, but share the Internet connection, via the T1 line. On LAN2, I have another router that connects to the Internet, via a Comcast line. I wish to route some of the traffic on LAN2 (10.38.77.0) to the other Router, on LAN2 (10.38.77.12) (connected to the Comcast line). I have entered the following lines:
route inside2 10.11.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.38.77.12 1
route inside2 10.252.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.38.77.12 1
route inside2 172.22.6.0 255.255.255.0 10.38.77.12 1
I can trace the routes from the ASA 5510 (1st hop is to 10.38.77.12), but not from anything else on LAN2.

May 8, 2012I have an environment of 3 X 3560G of which I have 1st switch-CORE(f0/10) connecting to the VPN router(CE) interface-f0/0. Remaining 2 Cisco 3560's(Access) are connected to Gi0/1 and Gi0/2 on the 1st switch-CORE via gi0/1 . On all three switches I have created multiple VLANs and assigned ports to these VLAN. The switch to switch connection is trunk allowing all VLANs created on all these 3 switches. Now the issue is how I am going to have all these VLANs routed through single interface on the routeri-e f0/0, as all these subnets will communicating to remote site over VPN. What should be default gateway on the 2 Access switches and the CORE switch, also what static route should be on router to reach all subnets(VLANs) created on these 3 switches.
I have read inter-VLAN routing i-e creating sub interfaces on router but dont want to proceed with that and looking for any other way to have my VLANs talk on all three switches and then are accessible to remote site ove VPN?
