Profile in atthach-file. After this profile is uploaded to client Optimal Gateway Selection doesn't work propertly: When 'vpn1.mydomain.com/mygroup' (it best TTL server) is unreachable, then OGS try to be connected to other servers, but without group-url, for example 'vpn2.mydomain.com' (instead of 'vpn2.mydomain.com/mygroup')
i've configured 4 connection profiles (IT,HR,Admon,VIP) on the asa everything works well, but our boss wants to know if it's possible to assign the right connection profile without using group drop-down list, what he wants is to use a unique connection profile (non-default) and via radius attributes using ACS 5.X to assing the right profile.
Working as a consultant I find it annoying I cannot see a drop-down list in the AnyConnect client as you can with the traditional IPSEC VPN client with multiple profiles. How to modify the default profile to list multiple entries?
I am trying to configure a client profile under the Any Connect Client Profile tab in the ASDM but keep getting an error message stating "Check that you have a proper Any Connect package installed in the Any Connect Client Software menu. Also check that your ASDM username have enough privilege." My user has sufficient privilege but I am not sure which Any Connect software I should have to enable this. Right now I have anyconnect-win-3.0.10055-k9.pkg installed. This is a lab setup using GNS3.
we have ASA5510 with version 7.x and asdm 5.X, i upgraded it to 8.3 and asdm 6.2, and i got vpn peers 250 and 2 ssl.when i try to connect through client software , i can see in the logs UDP 500 port is created as shown below. [code]
and currently in right panel of Active Algorithms i have only RC4-SHA1,
The public IP address of my 2800 router where all VPN clients terminate will change shortly. There are some technique to auto-change the client´s profile for clients to connect to the new IP address? I have seen that VPN 3000 concentrator is able to do this so i can´t get one of those right now
I have an ASA5510 that I am trying to set up for remote access using SSL VPN with the anyconnect client. I have followed the config guides on the Cisco website as well as the config guides elsewhere on the internet to no avail. When going to https://(outsdie interface ip address),I get nothing, the browser never loads a page. Here are the commands I have entered:
I have a clientless VPN configured for webmail on an ASA 5510. However for some reason it also displays in the drop down of the Anyconnect client, and consequently if you try and connect you do not get redirected to the webmail page. Does any know how i can either remove the entry from the drop down of the Anyconnect client, or force the webpage to open if connection is granted via the AnyConnect client?
I've got my AnyConnect setup to get an IP from our Windows DHCP server just fine. It grabs the IP, mask, and DNS just fine. But I can't ping any of the lan devices or do any DNS lookups. I need it to work this way since we have a ton of site-to-site's with remote offices and getting them all to adjust their firewalls to allow another subnet is a nightmare.
I have split-tunneling enabled. I'm sure it's a nonat command that I'm missing, but not sure what.
Before connecting to VPN: Home user-------------------> ASA 5510 --------------> Office Lan 192.168.1.0/24 10.10.1.1/24
After they connect to AnyConnect Home user-------------------> ASA 5510 --------------> Office Lan 192.168.1.0/24 10.10.1.1/24 10.10.1.45/24
I have a VPN setup thru a Cisco 5520, Windows clients connect just find and the end users configure there browser to use our internal proxy servers. Users with the MAC OS X Anyconnect client can connect, they configure their Mac to use our proxy server, but the broswers will not work, clients can reach networks and resources behind the VPN gateway and have access to the Proxy(Tried a telnet to that hostname/port). I am running ASA 8.3(2), Anyconnect(OS X) 3.1.01065.
I ve configures an asa 5505 for remote vpn with anyconnect. it works just fíne - from remote i can ping the Clients and Server inside, i can do RDP or Connect via SSH to any machine, map some volumes local and so on but: I can not connect microsoft sql server. It uses port 1433 for the first connect and establishes then a dynamic connection. So i am a Newbie - what rules or configs do i miss?
I have created Remote VPN on ASA5510 (8.0(5)) the Tunnel is UP and client machiches are able to connect to the VPN but not passing traffics between Server & Client.
I'm looking into starting a file sharing server (think this is what its called) which will allow people to login into one of my PC's over the internet and download my files. My goal is to allow family members and friends to access my files and only specific files on this PC. The files could be family videos as well as pictures. Some video files will be in excess of 10gb along with typical jpegs and what not. I'll probably be running windows server 2008 on it. I'm also considering allowing people on some other forums that I'm a member on (cars, hobbies, ect) and allowing people to host vids on my server. My current IP provider is Comcast and I'm on a Dynamic IP so wondering how easy this is or if its recommended I get a static IP.
I' am looking for some articles that you'd recommend on this. I'd also like to have password protection / or login criteria so car members aren't able to view all my family videos, but can only log into some folder labeled (cars) and not my folder labeled family. Or another option would be that people have to login before they are able to even see what folders are accessible. For instance car members could only see car folders Family members could see anything stored on the PC?
I'm in router setting in 1921, I have 40 remote VPN group profile attributes, but I can only connect simultaneously at 30, I wonder if there is a maximum limit of groups configured on a router 1900 IOS
I have enabled the following attribute...Show Pre-connect Message—Displays a message to the user before the user makes the first connection attempt.Where do you actually enter the text for the message?
I am running some tests with Cisco Anyconnect 3.0 and trying to configure profiles with profile editor. my understanding is that when we configure a profile under the AnyConnect profile editor, it will be used automatically when client connects to the SSID.
I have downloaded both the profile editor and AnyConnect secure mobility client, when i create a new profile and save it under "Network Access Manager newConfigFiles" folder, it seems the profile does not take any effect when i try to connect to the SSID, I am still propmted for user credentials when I try to connect to the SSID. I read from somewhere that a profile should be created using profile editor when using EAP-FAST, otherwise connection would fail, I did find failures when using EAP-FAST however this does not happen if I use local auth (on wlc or AP).
so the question is how do I suppose to configure profile editor to work properly with AnyConnect? if I have multiple profiles configured under profile editor, then how does AnyConnect know which profile config file to take when i switch between SSIDs?
verify if the ASA 5520 CSC module way of applying security policy (http, smtp, pop3, etc.) is per network/subnet or group of users? Based on my understanding through reading, web and email protection profile/config is global. It will be the same to every network user that is redirected via service-policy config on the ASA.
Scenario: I have two VLAN, guest and employee. Of course guest and employee have different web filter profile. Can i configure it such that guest web-filter profile is not just strict while employee's access is limited only to productive internet sites.
Is it possible to send profile name as an Radius atribute during client authentication? I would like to match users depends on profile name to sperate Identity Stores in my ACS. ASA 5540 8.4, anyconnect 3.1.01065, ACS 5.1
how we can clear the username in the Anyconnect Connection Profile on a users laptop? Currently it defaults to the last username used but our security group would like that cleared so that the field comes up blank every time. This feature was available in the old Cisco 3030's but I can't find it in the ASA.
Do the problem caused by the modems itself or it just sign of faulty Ethernet switch (using 20 port Allied Telesis ethernet switch). Sometimes I cannot connect to internet due to "unidentified network" buy i can resolve this problem by restarting my modem + switch.
I can't seem to find any documentation to how to get this working. I'm trying to make it so that only users of a certain AD group are authenticated for my Anyconnect VPN on my ASA 8.2.2
I've found the documentation on how to prevent logins using the msNPAllowDialin attribute, but not how to base it on group membership (memberOf) [code] I need to do any kind of restrictions inside the actual group-policy TESTGROUP ?
I just started configuring AnyConnect with ASA 5520 that uses Cisco SecureACS to pass radius authentication. I configured two profiles with different split tunnel restrictions and what I discovered is that when the client connects to the ASA, they are provided a choice of these two groups (I guess there is no way to restrict this) and I can log into either one with any user account. How do I restrict this so that the user can only use one profile? Currently users capable of VPN would be placed in one specific AD group so that is what SecureACS checks. Is there a sample configuration guide to handle multiple profiles with different levels of access?
I'm seeing plenty of these errors on my ASA5510. The ip's in question are IP's that my ASA is assigning VPN connection from my General IP pool.
Here are some examples:

I am setting up a clientless SSL VPN and AnyConnect on a ASA5510 running 8.4. When I login to clientless SSL VPN I get a menu with AnyConnect showing as an option. When I click on that AnyConnect it try to load. Half way loading an error message pop up.Error message:The secure gateway has rejected the connection attempt. A new connection attempt to the same or another secure gateway is needed, which requires re-authentication. The following message was received from the secure gateway: No address available for SVC connection. When I load AnyConnect seperately then it works. I don't have that problem when using 8.2.
I have a small issue with the AnyConnect client. Under Windows XP, I was able to accept and install the certificate from the firewall and get a vpn connection working. But under Windows 7, I have to accept the certificate everytime I conect. Is there a reason for that?

We have an ASA5510 with the Anyconnect Essentials license. I'm in the process of setting up Anyconnect and immediately run into a question. We have a /29 subnet setup and AFAIK i must use the outside interface address for Anyconnect. However i already have an https service PAT forward on this address. So, can i setup Anyconnect to listen on eg. the second ip in my public subnet?
I ve setup Anyconnect on ASA 5510 and it seems to be working fine but cant get Jabber to work on smart phones. When using the packet tracer i see my packets dropped on WEBVPN-SVC. I am not using NAT anywhere and i can normally ping the CUCM from the client , i can open the web page of cucm but jabber says connection error.
For years now we've had an ASA5510 running an old version of ASA/ASDM (7.0/5.0) and couldn't access ASDM through a modern system with a recent JRE, so we didn't bother with this.
However, we've recently upgraded ASA/ASDM for purposes of adding failover and want to be able to access ASDM through our site to site tunnel. The site to site tunnel gives us access to the VLAN that the firewall is the gateway for, but not access to the firewall itself.
This side of the network is the 10.1.55.0 subnet, and that side of the network is the 192.168.1.0 subnet. I can ping devices on the 192.168.1.0 subnet, but not the firewall, (not that I really need to) and devices can ping me back. I can access ASDM through RDP or ssh into a server on the 192.168.1.0 subnet, but not directly from the 10.1.55.0 subnet.
This is the current config relative to the 10.1.55.0 subnet:
access-list trust_nat0_outbound extended permit ip 192.168.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.1.55.0 255.255.255.0 access-list untrust_cryptomap_600 extended permit ip 192.168.0.0 255.255.0.0
[Code]....
As far as I'm aware, the tunnel comes into the firewall through the untrust (public) interface, because that is the destination of the tunnel on the 10.1.55.0 subnet side.
What am I missing here that would allow asdm access through the untrust interface for the 10.1.55.0 subnet?
We assign in our IPSec VPN the tunnel-address from our centralized dhcp server pools. In the profile we have two server's ip configured. In test (whireshark) we noticed that the discover always go to the first configured ip.
I do not understand and could not finf hints how the function is.
- backup server with a timeout when no answer comes from primary ?
- should ASA do simultaneous discover to all configured ip's ?
=>Problem is, that although the first server not answered in a timely manner, we noticed no discover to the second.
