Can we do the load balancing with WIC - 1T card as ISP - 1 and Ethernet card as ISP - 2 and other ethernet card as my LAN Network.
WIC - 1T - connected to ISP Ethernet card - Connected to Secondary ISP Second Ethernet card - connected to LAN Connection.
I would like to have load-balancing & fail-over between this two connections.
I have a 1841 router having 2 ISP links , till now I have been using IP SLA for NAT Failover but now I want to use OER to do Load Balancing and utlize both of my internet links . I went through an article which tells me of the configuration part however It only has 1 default route . In a case where that ISP goes down all traffic will be moved to other ISP link but there is no static default route for that ISP . Following is the article Link

We've got a 1841 router with dual-WAN connection, one is Cable and it goes to Fa0/0, another one is ADSL2+ and it goes to WIC-ADSL card.I'm trying to configure a load-balancing and failover using per-packet or per-destination connection.I can configure "ip sla" for both connections pinging 2 different DNS IPs of 2 ISPs. But I can't configure command "track 1 rtr 1 reachability" and "track 2 rtr 2 reachability". There is no "rtr" allowed to type there. And all examples shows that command for load-balancing. What command to use for that or why I cannot use the above command?

I have an inquiry about a configuration I deploy in a C2960 switch. I have configured a ether channel with 8 ports, the load balanced method is source mac address. The bundling protocol is LACP.
I have found the ether channel is not balanced as I expect. One of the eight interfaces is congested.

What I am attempting to achieve is to aggregate trunk ports out of a VMware server into a single logical connection to give as much bandwidth as possible, the switches are 3750X and are three stacked together with the server connections spread across the stack. What I am not sure about is if two port channel load balance protocols can happy co-exist on the switch, by default the switch is using MAC address load balancing and Vmware wants to use IP Source load balancing. As other trunks and channels exist on the switch I don't want to make a change that will affect the other live connections if changing this is a global setting and not local on the channel.

I have a dual-homed fabric (Nexus 2248 dual attached to two Nexus 5020's via vPC). On this Nexus 2248 is a server that has a four port LACP etherchannel. The ports do not appear to be load balancing correctly. The output below shows the four ports in use and it clearly shows port e138/1/10 as getting the most use. When I use the "show port-channel load-balance forwarding-path..." command on either of the vPC switches for various source and destination IP's that use this link, it shows them correctly load-balancing across the four ports. But we do not see this when looking at stats on both the server side and the switch side.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm setting up a warehouse near Dayton, OH which will require a high level of network availability as there will be no local IT staff. To that end I've decided that a router that supports load balancing of 2 WAN connections, HA, and a T1 interface would be ideal. To clarify the load balancing requirement, the location will have redundant internet access plus a point to point T1 to the main office to facilitate low latency connectivity between a warehouse management system and ERP back-end. Total user count at the warehouse is 5 and 20 at the main office. Neither location has tremendous bandwidth requirements.
I have little practical experience in this area, but I have come up with 2 solutions thus far.
(2) Juniper SRX210
Vyatta Core 6.2 w/ Sangoma T1 interface adapters
The Juniper solution is likely a safer route given access to vendor support, however, this option becomes rather spendy as I'd like to use the same configuration at the main office which will require 4 units. The Vyatta option, although probably less proven and a bit more risky, could run on a pair of Sun x4100 systems at each location which I can purchase for around $200 each plus the cost of the Sangoma cards.
I have a Cisco network on a ship where I work, I have an Ericsson GSM Access point which picks up local GSM 3G signal and broadcasts it onboard. I have two of these units and they are connected to a D-Link Load balancing router which is in turn connected to a Cisco 3560 Series 8 poe switch. Each unit is on a different subnet. The Cisco is on the DHCP server from my AD server (Windows 2003 Server) The Load balancing router has no DHCP and the Ericsson units have their own DHCP servers.On the Cisco switch if I plug in with a laptop I get an IP address for the DHCP on my server. I cannot ping the load balancing router from it. If I connect to the Load balancing router and set a static address for that subnet I can access the internet via the Ericsson units. And if I connect to the Ericsson I can access the Internet.

I then have a cable modem connection going into the gigabit Ethernet GE 0/1 port on the router.
Right now, the cable modem provides a backup connection in case the T1s go down.
What I was wondering is if there was a way to 'combine' the bandwidth from the two T1s with the cable modem?
Can we terminate 2 WAN link first Lease line and second Broadband internet link on 800 series router . As 800 series router have only 1 wan port and 4 switch port. Also we want to Configure load balancing over the 2 WAN link, is it possible or Basic router for SMB.

Looks that when a connection to a site is started with a WAN is not manteined with this one but jump from a wan to the other, causing, in some site like Home Banking to be disconnected every time. I would like to know if it's possible to configure the roouter in Load Balancing but Bindind the source and the destination IP address so the same wan will be used for the entire time this connection is up. In opther words the Load Balancing has a sense beetween connections not beetween the same connection.

I have a Cisco 2811 router with two HWIC-ADSL cards configured for dsl connection. I have two lines from the same ISP and i am load balancing between them. I have created a couple of SLA's to check the state of the connections and add to the routing table the two default routes if both are up or any one of them is up.My problem is that when i try to download big files (especially antivirus updates) the download at some point stops (especially the antivirus exits with an error of unreachability). If i shut down one line everything works fine.Could i use something (configuration-wise) to prevent this problem from happening?????Is there any way i can combine the two lines? They are simple ADSL connctions with static ip's.

There are no static routes configured, so i'm baffled by what could cause some of the UDP packets to go through the wrong WAN.All TCP Traffic from 192.168.5.200 is seen going though WAN2 as it should.
I want to load balance my Internet traffic between two ASR 1001 routers that are connected to our core switches. Both routers are connected to the same ISP (Comcast) going to the same BGP AS on different /30 subnets. Is there a way for me to load balance my Internet traffic using both connections with BGP rather than having one of these connections sitting idle? If not, the only solution I see is to configure my layer 3 devices to split internet traffic between both routers (i.e. default routes with same AD).

MPLS Link runs in BGP
DSL Connection runs in EIGRP.
So the existing scenario is like When ever MPLS link goes down Traffic will be moved to DSL connection. and once it come again it will be moved back to DSL using HSRP we are doing this. in this case most of the times my DSL connection will be in standby mode.Now my management decided to use both the links in active state and want to do some load balance between the links for some specific traffic like Internet, WSUS Updates, Antivirus updates need to go through the DSL connection even the MPLS is up and running.
I have a rv042 router with two internet connections. I have setp the WAN1 and WAN2 and set the load balance mode. Surfing on internet is then not a problem and I checked that I was using the two internet connection.However if I try to connect to my corporate (OWA) outlook web access i am looping on the first page where I should provide my credentials.I know that most of the load balancer could be set up with a sticky bit to keep the session on the same WAN connection.
