Cisco WAN :: Multicast On 4510 Core Switch And 3750x IDF Switches

At our site we have a 4510 core switch and 3750x switches in our IDFs. The 3750 switches are connected to the core via DOT1Q trunks in a server client setup. We are putting in an Informacast/Berbee server witch will send pages and text to the cisco phones. We also have 1 3750 switch connecting to the core via a layer 3 port channel. If we put the Informacast server on the phones vlan would I just need to enable ip pim sparse-dense mode on that vlan only and enable multicast routing, ip multicast routing?
I have a 3750X four-switch stack acting as the core of a fairly simple LAN. All I need to achieve (and this seems inordinately hard, but it is entirely likely that I'm just being dense) is to get access to the internet through my core switch, through the firewall and out through my VSAT. I've spoken at some length with the firewall providers (Cyberoam) and they tell me all I need to do when I migrate onto my new system (Cyberoam is currently in place at the entrance to our existing LAN) is change the local IP address of the Firewall, plug in the new switch to the LAN port, and away I go. Tried that, didn't work, so obviously I'm missing something.
What are the options avilable to add a cat3560 g switch to a stack of 3750x switches.?is there a connector avilable ?or is it possible to trunk via fiber ? cat 3560 has 4 sfps and 224 10/100/1000 ports with poe. cat 3750 stack has a 10 gb up link . What are the possible options?
we are replacing network equipment at one of our sites. The network will have 12, 3750X switches(6 stacks) - one stack will be the core. A 1002 will be the WAN router to the Main campus. The 1002 will connect to the core via 2 ethernet cables. I'm debating whether to use L3 or L2 between the router and Core. I've heard that routing is more efficient if L3 is used and also I will be able to create an L3 etherchannel between the 1002 and Core switch. See the attached doc.
I recently created a stack using (2) 3750x switches. I have three vlans on the stack (1,105,241) Vlan 105 is configured on 6509 core switches with multicasting and are connected to the stack via gigabit fiber. It is working well with clients on the Master or SW1, however clients on SW2 do not participate in multicasting Any client pc that is connected to SW2 vlan 105 does not show up in the "sh ip igmp snooping group" command. I can statically assign a client on SW2 to the mcast groups but but they fail to register on their own. I can take the cable connection from SW2 and plug it into an SW1 Vlan 105 port and it immediately becomes a member of the groups. I can then connect it back to the SW2 port and it disappears from the group membership. IGMP and PIM are configured with the defaults.
We are currently experiencing random multicast data dropouts on ports that are connected to a 3750X in VLAN ports. A test PC was connected to a routed port and we do not have any dropouts of the multicast data.We also took a 2960G and plugged it into VLAN ports on the 3750X. Any test PC that is on the 2960G does not lose traffic. The traffic only drops on PCs that are connected to a port on the 3750X that is in a VLAN. The data drops are random and last approximatly 55-59 seconds before we start receiving multicast traffic again.
I do not see any input/output errors on the interfacessh platform port-asic stat drop also show no drops
CPU runs at about 50% on the 3750X

I have a 4510 with sup7e and I would like to deploy netflow on this switch. The network will contain the 4510 switch where there will be 4 blades installed, each blade contains a separate Zone (vlan) . These 4 zones will then trunk upto a firewall via ten gig link over sub-interfaces. There will be an ip address assigned to each vlan on the 4500 switch but there can not be routing enabled between the vlans on the switch.
If I have two stackable switches one switch uplinks to one 6509 core switch and the other connection uplinks to another 6509 core switch, and also the other stackable switch does not connect to the core switches. Because I am using hsrp and also we are not using vss then one uplink to the core is not in used only ones is so then how does creating an etherchannel between does two uplinks to both core switches benefit me in anyway such as more bandwith and using both uplinks at the same time or I'm I wrong?
If I have two stackable switches were only one stackable switch has two uplinks one uplink goes to one core 6509 switch and the other uplink goes to the other 6509 core switch can a Layer 3 etherchannel be used if each uplink go to a different core switch, by the way hsrp is running between both switches and also can you give an example how data will be routed from the stackable switch through the ethernetchannel to one of the core switch accross the WAN to another core switch?
We have an issue where switches are failing weekly in a switch closet. In the past month we have gone through several 3750G switches and a couple 4510s. The power supplies have eventually made a popping noise and had to be replaced. on the 4510s we've tried two chassis and gone through several power supplies.The switches have been behind UPS systems so should be receiving conditioned power.Could load from the PoE devices really be causing this? I wouldn't think it's power since they are behind a UPS.
We have multiple switches(Cisco 4510, 4507R, 3560's) within our network. I've been looking over the port settings between them and noticed that not all ports that are connected directly from switch to switch are trunked the same. Some are desirable on one switch and forced truck on the other switch.
I am using Cisco 4510 Switch with Default LAN Base image. Now I have purchased 10G Upgrade license. The part number for Upgrade license is WS-C4500-10G-LIC. I have received a CD from Cisco (named as 'Includes License and Warranty'). Any License upgradation is required for this license? Or this is only a paper License.
I could not find out any .lic file on the CD. Also there is no paper with PAK.
I have a Catalyst 4510 that is running IOS version 15.X that has a bug and Cisco recommends upgrading the IOS. Are there additional steps required to perform an IOS upgrade due to licencing Cisco put in place?
We have an existing network with a Catalyst 4510 core switch and departmental 3560 switches connected via fiber. Due to company restructure we can no longer afford to buy new 3560's when anything goes wrong so this week I purchased an SG200-26 which I'm trying to get onto the network.
This is a legacy network which I didn't setup so my Cisco skills are somewhat limited (another reason for the SG200's hopefully), anyway have been looking at the configs on the existing switches and trying to match settings in the SG200 setup however not getting anywhere! I have the config from the dead switch so I can show what needs to be achieved, any experience in downgrading environment in a similar way?
I have a 4500 Catalysts switched (4510 R ) that require the configuration to wiped back to factory default setting, How would i go about clearing the configuration on each module board

I also have a Catalyst 6500 that requires each module within the chassis to we wiped back to factory defaults

I'm having some trouble with a 4510 Switch Line Card. I need some recomendations for troubleshooting it.We have some PoE phones connected to the card number 3. When those phones were restarted, they did not go up again. In order to discard wiring issues, we connected the phone directly to the card 3, and the phone did not go up. If the phone is connected to a different card, it goes up correctly.
Additionally, to restore the service, these phones were migrated to other cards, but when we disconnect the equipment, ports in line card 3 remain in an up / up state (and nothing is connected to those ports!!), and only reflect the actual state after restarting the port.What steps could I do in order to troubleshoot this issue?. What should I look for, or how do I discriminate the problem? Might it be a hardware issue, a PoE issue?
does the SG300 switches can be used with Microsoft NLB in Multicast mode?I know on traditional Catalyst switches you can statically "map" IP's to mac's and then to multiple ports but this doesn't seem to work correctly on the SG switches - it gives an error about the mac not being not Unicast?
i cant find any difference in these two devices when i am trying to compare throughput.I need upgrade our new POP and there will be around 4900 MAC adresses in VLAN 150 and 130 MAC adresses in vlan 200.Uplink is 1 gig routed internet connection and there is 14 downlinks to separate villages.i found a few differences for eg stack interface on 3750x but i dont need it.
My internet router acts as an IGMP Proxy for the LAN and distributes IPTV there. The router is connected to one of my three SG 300 10 Cisco switches (connected to one another via uplink port). Now I want all switches to send multicast traffic to only the recipients of such traffic (PCs with VLC and Network Media Players) connected to either one of them. How do I have to configure the switches to do so and not flood the LAN with multicast traffic, is it enough to enable IGMP Snooping on each switch?
I am experiencing a problem on a Catalyst 4510 (cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-53.SG.bin) with 802.1x configured. Client PCs are connected via a mini desktop switch to a Cat 4510 switched port in multi-auth mode. The configuration of the port follows:

It happens from time to time that the Cat 4510 port stops passing traffic. Reconnecting the mini switch recovers the communication. Client PCs connected to the mini switch seem to be authorized at the moment when the problem occures. The RADIUS Termination-Action attribute is set to RADIUS-Request. The problem is not present if "authentication periodic" is disabled.
In my Company there is a core Switch 4500 series , to which in the 1st module servers are connected and in the second module 2960 , 3750 series Switches are connected, problem is that the Utilization of Core switch is very high and the core gets hanged. the configuration of the senerio is VTP domain i.e core is Server and the rest are Clients....
there are more than 15 servers which include xen,esx,vmware,also san etc..which are connected to L3 core switch directly. And vlans are created for each.....xen,iscsi,vmware,xen,server. wanted to know is there any other technology other than directly connecting servers to core switch and assigning vlans that can be used in place?
We have a L3 core switch with multiple VLANs setup. Is there a way to place an IPS so as to monitor the traffic passing between, lets say, VLANS 1-3 and VLANs 4-10?
I am facing issue with LMS 4.0. The Core Switch is showing in RED color,and device type as UNKNOWN. It was working fine but some how it is showing this problem.

I have configure multiple vlans on both the core swithces below is the example, my question is how will be my VTP server configuration on the 3560E since both the core switches will have identical vlans HSRP 2 configured on them. Do I have to configure both the cores with same DOMAIN NAME ?
The core has VTP 2 so I cannot use primary and secondary option.

I am getting following error in Cisco 6509 switch.BUt there is no impact in the switch.

I tried to implement WLC5508 in my network but when I came to connect it to the switch core which is a Catalyst 4000 the link didn't get up. This switch module is a fastethernet, I wonder if that might be the problem since I also tried connecting my laptop to the WLC and the link got up.
If that might be the cause, is it possible to get WLC to 100 Mbps?
My CORE Switch 4507R Suddenly restarted (Powe is good) , and gets the business down for 30 Mts,my boss came to me and asks why it has restarted , what is the root cause of this restart, i dont have any syslog or NMS enabled in my network to be informed
