Cisco Wireless :: 5500 AP Doesn't Charge Configuration

Apr 18, 2012

I try to configure a Cisco 5508 Wireless controller and 25 Air-lap1041 to use as VoIP and data. I read documents, manuals, etc, but the AP doesn't charge the configuration, or not conect with the Wireless Controller, why? No Radius server present, only WPA security.

I try to put a static ip in the LAP, with lwapp or capwap command, (LWAPP/CAPWAP ap ip address direccion mascara) and the AP returns "You should configure Domain and Name Server from controller CLI/GUI." and i can't change the name of the AP (Command is disabled). [code]

APC 2200VA UPS Won't Charge New Batteries

Mar 8, 2011

I've got an APC 2200VA rack mount UPS. A Smart-UPS series. It's almost 10 years old and the old batteries were obviously worn out so I bought new ones. They are in fact the proper replacements, I triple checked.

Installed the new batteries and plugged the UPS in with no load so they could charge up and let it charge for two days. Everything checked out according to the web interface control panel and the indicator lights.

Now that I've plugged my gear into it, no where near close to the max load btw, the battery light won't stop blinking. Started with one indicator stating no charge, and now all five of the lights are blinking.

The web control panel says my batteries are discharged, battery capacity is 100% (wtf), runtime is 0 minutes, battery voltage is 55.05 VDC.

I ran a self test and it passed. I also did the recommended calibration test because of the new batteries.

Cisco Firewall :: 5500 Blocking Skype Application Doesn't Work With ASA CX

May 12, 2013

I'm trying to build different content security scenarios for a potential deployment of ASA5500-X series firewall with CX module and ran into a trivial problem. A simple access policy has been configured to deny Skype. It's as simple as it sounds. To my surprise I don't see that it is being enforced.I have all my pending changes committed, events are now showing with hits, see attached print screens. Tried to start Skype on my PC with the source shown on the print screen it and don't see any effects of this policy.

As a side note, I know for sure that other type of filtering does work, i.e. I have configured a deny filter for gambling URL category and it seems to work nicely.

Cisco Security :: PIX Configuration To 5500 ASA NAT?

Aug 18, 2011

Our client ( a webhost, they have a lot of servers ) has a an older Cisco Pix, everything works fine with the PIX. They have a Cisco ASA 5500 with ASA version 8.3 , to replace the PIX. Upon migrating the PIX config to the ASA we are running into issues with Dynamic NAT. The static NAT entries are working flawlessly (there is a lot of them), however when Dynamic is enabled for the remainging hosts, outside communication works then drops off.  The remaining hosts need outside access for updates. We have access lists set up but I dont se ehow that could cause a problem when the original ACL's were working fine with the PIX, they have not been altered.

The NAT config may be wrong or cluttered, have a look at the full NAT config.

The static NAT addressing is the same, example 207.11.129.65 will equal 10.10.10.65

Airlink N 150 Mini - Wireless Network Connection Doesn't Have A Valid IP Configuration

Dec 2, 2012

I have a desktop PC using Windows 7 Pro. and a Airlink N 150 Mini USB wireless adapter. My 2Wire modem/router from AT&T was failing to stay connected and was replaced today with a Netgear 7550 modem/router from AT&T. I installed the Netgear 7550 and am able to access the internet with my Asus Laptop, my LG Thrill phone, and my Samsung Galaxy 2 tablet with no problems. However, my Desktop cannot connect to the internet and the Window Network diagnostics returned the following message: Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration. How do I go about connecting my desktop to the Netgear modem/router so that I have access to the internet? By the way I am able to connect to the internet using an ethernet cable and a LAN connection.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRK54G - Network Connection Doesn't Have Valid IP Configuration

Dec 2, 2010

I have a new Windows 7 laptop which cannot connect to internet through my WRK54G Linksys router. Other laptops can connect through the same router, and the same laptop has connected  through other routers. The laptop has it's TCP/IPv6 and TCP/IPv4 internet protocols set to get addresses automaticaly.

ipconfig shows that the IPv6 autoconfiguration address is 169.254.28.183 instead of 192.168.1.XXX.  I tried the ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew commands, as recommended by the knowledge base, but got the following error message: No operation can be performed on wireless network connection 2 while it has its media disconnected.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT160N Local Area Connection Doesn't Have Valid IP Configuration

Oct 11, 2012

The last few days I had been getting the error that: "Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration" whenever I reboot my computer. I have to power cycle the router before I can get back the internet connection. Checked on the web and tried various solutions which did not work. So I tried using various firmwares for the WRT160N V2 like V2.03 Build 7 and Build 9. Still did not work. Finally reverted back to my old and trusted FW2.02 Build 8. And this seemed to improve the situation. However, the error will still appear from time to time though not as frequently.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Local Area Connection Doesn't Have A Valid IP Configuration

Feb 14, 2012

I am setting up a new E4200 modem, and have not been able to use the wired connection. The Windows 7 diagnositic on all three computers tells me "Local Area Connection, doesn't have a valid IP configuration."Model: E4200v1..I am using a new E4200 router, along with a new SE1500 5-port switch and a new SE2800 8-port switch.I am using a wired network that consists of two desktop computers, a laptop computer, a network printer, three Direct TV recorders, two Roku streaming video players, a BluRay player, and an XBox gaming console. Here is what I have done so far.

1- I can bypass the router to establish a direct wired connection to the cable modem. This works to access the internet. It establishes a new wired connection called Network 2.
2- I can access the internet using the wireless connection to the router. It shows a valid IPv4 address.
3- With all cables in place, all the lights are flashing on the router and on the computers.
4- I had changed cables and swapped cable ends.
5- Using the wireless connection, I can access the router home page (192.168.1.1). It shows valid IP addresses.

The problem is that my old Linksys BEFSR81 stopped working, with the same eror message for the LAN connection, "Local Area Connection, doesn't have a valid IP configuration."How often does the WAN port go bad? On both a five-year old BEFSR81, and a brand new E4200?

LAN Doesn't Have A Valid Ip Configuration

Mar 3, 2013

I recently bought a desktop off craigslist, it has been working fine for the past month, but I was about to start up a program and it froze. (was beginning to overheat, so it froze.) So no problem, I reset the computer and when I logged on, the internet had a fashionable yellow ! sign. So I diagnosed it and received the "Local Area Network does not have a valid IP configuration." Now every single computer, wired or not, can access the internet so it is specifically my desktop. I have done literally everything suggested in multiple forums, and nothing I do seems to work. I figure instead of listing everything I have done, I will just assume that I either did it wrong, or was given false information on how to do it, so in case one of those hold true I won't be stuck thinking something didn't work.

-Internet was working
-Computer froze
-Reset Computer
-Internet no longer working on my computer (does on other computers)
-Local Area Network does not have a valid IP configuration

Windows 7 Lan Doesn't Have A Valid IP Configuration?

Oct 9, 2012

I know this question seems to come out a lot but I can't seem to fix it. I am a college student and my internet has worked 100% fine until I went home this weekend and came back. It worked this weekend when I brought my computer home and when I came back today it gives me this error when I try to troubleshoot. The only thing that could have changed is when I went home I set my DNS to be openDNS because it makes a huge difference there, but I changed it back when I got here. I don't know if that would matter, but unplugging and restarting are doing nothing.

Cisco WAN :: New 1921 Doesn't Display Running Configuration

Apr 28, 2013

I've recently received this new Cisco 1921 routers with Cisco CP loaded, so it comes up with the annoying change username and password at first access. I've removed all of those files from the flash memory, and rebooted it, and it came up with the proper initial configuration dialog, which is what I wanted. But, whenever I configure the router with a set of basic configuration, like interface, routing, and snmp loggings, and hit wr mem, it doesn't display at all when I do "sh run". It's weird cause when I do sh run | sec rip  or any other stuff that I have configured, it shows up , but not in sh run at all.

What's the deal with the new routers? Even sh version doesn't show the config-register or memory allocation details.

Windows 8 - Ethernet Doesn't Have Valid IP Configuration

Mar 16, 2013

I'm using an ethernet cord to connect to my internet and it has been working well until Thursday morning when I turned on my laptop (Windows 8) to see a yellow triangle sign in the bottom right hand corner, in front of the ethernet connected symbol. Since then I haven't been able been able to access the internet from my computer. When I hover over it, it says that it is an "Unidentified network" and there is "No internet access". I've run the Windows 8 troubleshooting and it says that the problem found was ""Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration", but I'm unsure how to fix it.

I'm thinking that the problem is to do with my computer rather than my network, because I've tried another laptop (Windows 7) through the same ethernet cable and connection and the internet works fine on the other laptop. I've tried so many fixes that I've found online, with none of them actually working. Yesterday I even tried a full system reset, where I reinstalled Windows 8, repartitioned and wiped everything off the hard drive, but it still appears have the exact same problem.

Today I also purchased and tried a new ethernet cable which didn't work, so I then purchased a USB to Ethernet adapter, to make sure that it wasn't my ethernet port on my laptop that was faulty. That didn't work either, and the same problem still remains.

Powerline (TL-PA2010KIT) Ethernet Doesn't Have Valid IP Configuration

Apr 3, 2013

I have an ethernet connection using a Powerline (TL-PA2010KIT), which I use for online gaming. It's been working perfectly, until today. For some reason, I can't connect - I get the little "Limited access" symbol, and no mentions of an actual connection. However, I have a wi-fi connection that works perfectly, besides fluctuations in connection sometimes, which makes it unacceptable for online gaming. I'm using a Virgin Media Superhub, so I assume that there's no problems there if the wi-fi works. Also, I'm using Windows 8 if that's any concern.
