Xbox Not Connecting To Internet With 75 Foot Cable?
Oct 1, 2011I have a 10 foot ethernet Cable, and a 100 foot ethernet cable. Both cables work great from the router to my Thinkpad PC, and both work through the same port on the router. on my xbox the 10 foot cable works immediately when I hook it up to my xbox. The 75 foot cable will just not work to the Xbox. Again, it works fine to 2 of my laptops in the house. Is there a problem with Xbox and Long ethernet cables?

Oct 20, 2012I have an original Xbox 360 (wifi not built in) and the external wifi adapter. With all previous Cisco routers, I have been able to connect my Xbox successfully and quickly. Now, however, I am experiencing much difficulty.
I have verified I am using the latest firmware for my router, and configured my router like this: [URL] in terms of ports. I have also used the Xbox's MAC address to give a static IP address via my router's DNS.
The Xbox can see both my main wireless SSID and my guest SSID but cannot connect to either.

May 30, 2013WRT610v2 running latest firmware.xbox 360 sees both the 2.4 network (ssid = network1) and the 5.0 network (ssid network2) when it does its scan.Initially, xbox showed network strength for 2.4 network at 3 out of 4 bars and 5.0 network at 1 out of 4 bars.Connects to 2.4 network just fineWon't pull an ip address and reports "Not connected" when I select the 5.0 network.I tweaked the wireless settings per some suggestions I found in this forum and now it shows the 5.0 network at 4 out of 4 bars signal strength. Also turned security on and off and xbox 360 reported the changes in security on the 5.0 network.So the xbox 360 is definitely seening the 5.0 network. and can tell if it is running WPA2 or not..If it can see the 5.0 network and recognizes what security and network type (infrastructure) is set, would would stop it from connecting to the WRT610n router and getting an IP address? No mac filters or firewalls are set and, again, connects just fine and gets an ip address if I select the 2.4 (network1 ssid) instead.

However as all media files are stored on one PC I was thinking about getting a external USB drive and connecting this to the router and use that as the media server, this would save a PC having to be on all the time.
I use one of the xboxes as a media player as well, streaming movies and music. Will the 360 pick up the media server and be able to stream from there?I can not find anything on the internet as well about the possibilities for this.

My current setup: NetGear Wireless router is connected to my D-Link wired router, and I can access the internet no problem. (10 MBPS down, 5MBPS up)When I try to connect the 360 to the Netgear Wireless router, it connects to the Network, but Internet test it reads "DNS error - The router or modem may mot be automatically providing DNS settings. Nov 15, 2012Ive been trying to work this out on XBL forum for a while. all my settings seem to be correct ( UPnP, NAT type: open, no port forwarding or triggering, IP settings on Xbox's are auto).
The two Xbox can play online separately, when either one of them attempts to join the others party it disconnects from Xbox live.
According to the microsoft website, Xbox live only supports the Hardware version 1A and Firmware: 1.00NA.
My router has B1 and 2.00NA. is there a way to downgrade?

I just bought a new Xbox360 and I tried to connect the broadband on it. After connecting I tried to join Xbox Live and it said error. The console redirected me to a part which says test your connection, so I selected it. After selecting it I noticed that there are 4 parts. First the Xbox, second network, third internet, and lastly Xbox Live. I selected Test Connection and after doing so, it started to load. The first thing the console did is to test if the network is connected and after a few seconds the loading is done and it transfers to the other part which is the console will try to connect to the internet, in this part a huge x symbol appeared on the internet sign and it says that it is unable to connect to the internet and so I tried it again and same thing happened.

Oct 9, 2011Iv been having a wierd time with my computer connecting to the internet lately. What we have is a setup of 2 routers:
1st - has my mums computer plugged into it and an xbox 360, and gets access to the internet through a modem.
2nd - is plugged into the first router, and it has my computer and my brothers connected.
Lately the 2nd router can't seem to pick up any internet connection and I'm not sure why. Usually the only way to fix this problem has usually been to reboot the modem and the 1st router, but since my mum often uses her computer its kind of awkward for me to keep rebooting it when she's using the internet just fine. As far as I'm aware the settings on both routers are still at their default values when we originally got them, so why I'm being disconnected 50% of the time is a bit of a nuisance.

Nov 17, 2012I am tethering 4g on my Gs3. i am using the wifi tether app rooted. i can connect to my pc and speedtest gives me 25mbps down and about 13 up. but when i connect to my xbox my connection is extremely slow and i only have 3 bars. dont understand whats wrong. and also when i download files it can never go above 1mb. and its not the files because i have downloaded many and its the same story. my brother has the same connection with a nexus and gets 3mb on his files. why my tether is so slow and anything i can do to fix it.
