View 3 RepliesHad just purchased a new DCS942L unit and had it setup fine. Registered it on the web and the web stated that it needed a firmware update. Connected with hard line and started update. After 5min webapp said device timed out. When I went to rest camera could no longer get a connection of any kind.

When I check for an update to FIRMWARE I get the following message, "Did not get information".In the past when I clicked on there may be a firmware update on our site. I was taken to [URL] which gave me an 401 error and now redirects me to the US d-link page. Which doesn't even list Rev Jx as an option.I am having a lot of trouble with this router in regards to VPN and must have in China, and am hoping an update is available. [code]
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having no luck with DLink support getting an answer. I have the DCS-942L which allows me to set the date/time zone but when I try to add motion detection settings the page always times out during the save. I tried using CaT-5 CABLE instead of wifi for settings (camera on same router and desktop pc) but after the "saving" message appears, it eventually times out and I have to click the Back arrow to return only to find none of my settings saved. I also want to note that each time I log in I see a broken certificate error message. Using Win8 with IE10. Also tried on Win7 with IE9 and XP Pro with IE8.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWell this one should be in the "Firmware DOs and DONTs" post. I updated to FW 1.11 over wifi and apparently this will corrupt the camera so it needs serviving. Would have been nice to know that before I did it. Since the upgrade from 1.02 1030 I get this note:The throughput of the SD Card on your camera is not currently enough for recording. We suggest you to reformat the SD Card or replace it with a higher class one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to update my boradcom 5709c firware, or more acurrately trying to install the Broadcom Network Device firmware, family version 5.2.7 from the drivers page for my PowerEdge T110 running Server 2008 R2 Enterprise x64. Once the package extract and starts running, I am getting an error that simply says "BMAPI Error", and the program bails out. I really need to update this firmware, and have been looking for manual steps and other ways to get it done and have come up short.
Any other ways to get the firmware to update.
I have a DCS-942L. Everything was working fine on my setup until I upgraded the firmware the other day. In the mydlink.com website when I logged in that day, it stated a firmware upgraded was needed. So I clicked on upgrade, let it run its thing and then tried to view the playback and now the thumbnails are just black and when I click on one, it looks like it is loading but then shows the quicktime icon with a question mark over it. I upgraded my Quicktime component and that didn't fix it either. So I went into advanced settings, downloaded the new firmware upgrade from there by saving the zip file and uploading it via the advanced settings website, and still nothing. I have another camera, same setup, that I have not upgraded firmware on yet and that playback is working fine.

I have REV A and the firmwars version is 1.04. I want to upgrade to ver 1.35. I have downloaded the firmware to my computer. When I login to the router page and go to the firmware tab, when I try to click browse for the file nothing happens. I have tried using Internet Explorer and Firefox.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a DIR-615 router, hardware rev. C1 running firmware v. 3.10, dated 4/17/09. I've been beating my head against the wall trying to get this router to properly forward ports for a bit torrent application, but it not only won't do that, it doesn't want to save DHCP reservations and it doesn't want to recognize my computer on the LAN if I set a static IP address (although it does allow my computer to connect and get an internet connection). From the D-Link website, the description of firmware update 3.12NA looks like it might take care of these problems, but I can't get the router to update. When I log into the router and check for updates, it returns a message saying the latest update is v. 3.11, dated 9/15/09. However, when I attempt to download the update, nothing happens. The D-Link website offers update 3.11NA (4/20/09), 3.12NA (3/8/10), and 3.13NA (9/30/10). Why does the website offer me a different update than the router itself? I downloaded 3.13NA and unzipped the folder, which has a text file and a .bin file; I presume the latter is the update. However, when I browse to this file and attempt to upload it to the router, nothing happens. How the heck do I update this router?

I just bought my DIR-825 from Frys and it came stock with 2.02NA B1 firmware, but everytime I try to update it to 2.03/2.04/2.05/2.06 it errors saying it might not be the same hardware or something on the lines of that. But now when I try to upload it, it just leads me to "192.168.0.1 was interrupted" and can't even get to the error screen now.I'm not too savvy when it comes to routers, especially a D-Link since previously I had a Linksys WRT54GL
View 15 Replies View RelatedCurrently running firmware version 1.32NA on DIR-655 (hardware version A4). I have made multiple attempts at updating its firmware, first to 1.33NA and later to 1.34 Beta 3, with no success: on each occasion, it accepts the local .bin file upload, then claims to be in the process of applying the upload (with I think an 80 second countdown), and eventually comes back to the login page, still showing that it's running firmware v1.32NA (verified after logon, refresh, etc -- no update was applied). I have attempted this immediately after a soft reset of the router and even after a hard (power cycle) reset, but still no success.
(Any reason to think that the update might work if performed while the router is disconnected from the Internet? or after a configuration reset?
I bought my DIR-825 three months ago. The firmware seem to be from 2009, and the check-for-later-firmware functionality from the web interface tells me that my version (Current Firmware Version : 2.01EU) is the latest.
I don't believe that the firmware from 2009 is the latest, but have no idea on how to proceed.
My hardware in the web interface say this: (Hardware Version: B1 Firmware Version: 2.01E
The problem I really have is related to PPTP pass through (I think), but I thought making sure I have the latest firmware is always a smart move.
So, can the firmware-checker of the web-interface fail, or do I have the latest firmware?
I've been having wireless range issues lately with my dir-615: a lot of holes seemed to have popped up in my house despite nothing changed (house or router location). This is after at least 2-3 years of good coverage and no issues. Went to look at the firmware & found 2.0 installed. Found out online that (I think) firmware is now at 4.11. Tried to download and install but both finding the update and unzipping it proved challenging. Specifically for the latter, unzipping kept yielding more zipped packages, like a russian doll

View 2 Replies View RelatedI read the sticky related to firmware updates. I have a DIR-655, that has been been giving me good service for quite a few years. I subscribe to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy as I have managed to keep my home network and computers running over the years, but I'm not knowledgable in these matters. I am still running firmware 1.10, and have not wanted to take a chance that if I upgraded I would find myself with numerous devices with no connectivity (running mix of Mac and PC desktops and laptops, XBox, Wii, Roku box, numerous iPhones and iPods, LG TV, and an iPad).
Recently I moved to the cable company phone, and they added a new modem. They have it set as a gateway (I think that is the terminology), and my network works basically as it did before. I have noticed though, that my Roku box, laptops, and skype on my Mac desktop seem to be having periods of slower download (Roku box), skype choppiness, and download that stop. I was thinking that perhaps if I upgraded the firmware, my performance might improve. After reading the sticky, it seems like firmware may not be the answer. This is a reliable but older piece of equipment, and now I'm thinking that I just need to upgrade to a newer and perhaps more advanced router.
Today i has tryed to update the firmware of my DIR-655 router, but in the screen under the administrative tools menu there is nothing to use.
how do I update the firmware and bring up all the necessary tools?Dir-655 works because they are connected to the internet and manages the wireless network.
I have my 942L set up for continuous recording. When I look at the files, the camera will record between 20 and 55 seconds, end that file and start another. The next file then starts between a few seconds and as much as 40 seconds later leaving a gap in the video recoding. The file sizes are all different and the amount of record time is different for each file.
Also, about 80% of the time, the time increments a few seconds on a playback and then stops updating even though the video is longer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded and tried to apply the latest Firmware update to my dcs-930l. It failed or timed out. Now the camera is unusable. I tried the hard reset, several times, holding it in for 10 seconds after 3 seconds did not work. I held it in for 3 seconds, waited 1 minute, and just got a flashing red light. I did the same thing after holding reset in for 10 seconds. I have unplugged and replugged in the network cable on both ends several times and turned the power off and on on the router and camera several times. The camera only blinks with a red flashing light. Is it a brick now? Is there any other magic tricks to try?

I have a DIR-655 router running 1.21. The last couple of years, I've always been checking the firmware version by pushing the "Check Now" button on the web management - it has always responded with "This firmware is the latest version. " I've been researching networking monitoring tools and came across this link: [URL] It requires that you update to the latest firmware - and this time I sued on the on-line link - and it turns out that the firmware version for my device is actually 1.35NA?So... first question is - why does my router tell me that 1.21 is the current version?I'd like the network widget - what are pros/cons of updating from 1.21 to 1.35NA?Have there been fixes to the scheduling portion? - 1.21 cannot handle 24-hour time properly. I also have to reset the router daily - sometimes more often - due to problems when used wirelessly. (Fortunately I try to use wired as much as I can.)

Like many others with the W8968 Modem Router we are experiencing sudden disconnections from the internet every 1/2/3 hours with the only way to cure the problem is to hard reset the modem router. For your tech staff on the phone to say 'I'll just have to do this" is completely unacceptable.I have used 3 other modem routers with the exact same setup flawlessly with no disconnections so it's 110% the modem routers problem.I'm pushing this message for you, TP-Link, to release a new firmware version to fix this problem.
I also believe there are other problems incorporating port forwarding, etc aside from this major flaw.I used to believe TP-Link was a trusted and great company but after my experience I'll be thinking otherwise.

Received a replacement DCS-930L today; using WPS, did setup wirelessly; all OK. Then did firmware update wirelessly (with second, DCS-932L, turned OFF). The v1.03 firmware file was the same one I previously used, I think. Amazingly, The camera menus are now in French, and I can't find a setting to change it to English.
