I recently made an old router into a repeater by using DD-WRT. It seems to be working fine if I use LAN, but I cannot get WLAN to function properly. When I go to add a virtual interface and all the proper info, I all of a sudden cannot connect to the Internet. More specifically it seems to not assign me an IP address.
View 1 RepliesI am having some issues with getting DHCP Relay to fuction properly over our SG300-20 Switch.Out current layout is as follows. Hanging off the SG300-20 are a pair of Clustered Checkpoint Gateways with VLAN'ed interfaces in Both of our 2 VLANs, a 3COM 4200G In VLAN1 which has the DHCP server (And all the other Servers) connected to it, and a Pair of HP Procurve 2520's Stacked in VLAN 2 to provide PoE for our Phones/connectivity for our PCs.The problem is I cannot get the DHCP Relay to fuction from VLAN 1 to VLAN 2. If I assign an address in VLAN 2 manually to a device connected to the Procurves, everything works fine. I am able to reach both VLAN 1 and VLAN 2, but DHCP aquisition fails even if the device is connected directly to a port assigned to VLAN 2 on the SG300. The SG300 is running at Layer 3 currently also.

I have a WRT160N and a WAP4410N but can not get WAP function as a repeater. I have already put as Wireless Client / Repeater and Wireless WDS Repeater. I notice they are both with the same settings security. View attach file.
View 14 Replies View RelatedCant' seem to find any updated drivers for this card. Just installed new AP's supporting wireless 'n', and can't seem to get the speeds past 54MBS. AP's are configured properly. Under the setting in device manager I can see the rate setting for 802.11(b/g), but not n. If this card is not 'n' compatiable why state that it is. Hoping to get an updated driver . My version is 5.10.235.12 1/7/2011.

Whenever I go to the control panel utility, it tells me there are no wireless adapters, yet, the very fact I have this post up shows I am connected to the Internet. I have wanted to specify a specify local lan IP address but I cannot access the utility... yet the device manager tells me its running ok. However, downloading the utility from DELL, it tells me that there are no compatible devices.

I have a Dell Latitude E6410 and the driver from Microsoft worked for the most part but I was having issues connecting to my Windows phone 8 device (Nokia 920). First I though it was my phone but when I tried other devices like my Surface I could connect with no problem. I am also running Windows 7 32 bit, when I boot up that OS I had no issues connecting to my phone. I also had issues with stable connections to my 5Ghz Wi-Fi access point. Well if any of these symptoms sound like something that you been going through then check this driver out. I used the 43224AGN 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 driver and now everything seems to work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedCan a WAP4410N be used as a repeater on an existing WPA2 + EAP-TLS WLAN? The existing WLAN is on a Cisco 871W router; we hope to use a WAP4410N as a repeater to extend it.
I've not had much luck so far with the "repeater" and "WDS repeater" AP modes on the 4410. I'm either configuring it wrong, or perhaps the 871W needs a config tweak? Or perhaps the 871's wireless can't be repeated like this?
i am having a very wierd problem with my current internet connection , Its wired and while accessing websites seems just fine .. Accessing ANY program on the PC that requires internet does not work .. Examples of those can be steam/origin/any messenger/skype/teamviewer/teamspeak and the list goes on.. They all act like i dont even have an internet connection. I tried pinging in CMD by using Ping Google and i always get a request timed out .. I have also tried tracert Google and after the three * * * Its always a request timed out as well.. I have no idea whats causing and its pretty annoying as i mainly use the internet for skype and steam, Also on a side not this is not a problem with my laptop as i tried connecting to some random unprotected network that was near me and it worked fine

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Wi-Fi repeater (Siemens Gigaset Repeater WLAN SE365) to boost my wi-fi signal throughout my house without having to drill through walls of concrete (with a boost in phone wi-fi in mind on the top floor of the house). I was advised to buy one specifically with the make and model of my router in mind, as connectivity might be an issue if these don't match up. I own a Siemens Gigaset SX55 router so there should be no issue there (I can use the repeater on 2 different frequencies, not sure which one is best, 2.4 or 5 ghz). The instruction manual told me to connect the repeater to my pc once (through use of an Ethernet-cable supplied) so I could alter the settings of the repeater to match with that of my router (same SSID, protection method, channel). Whereas naming it the same as the router by modifying the SSID and using the same ASCII WEP-protection password as the router were doable, I could not find an option to change a channel.
At this point the instruction manual was fresh out of ideas and told me that I had set up the repeater as it should be installed. After unplugging it from my pc and plugging the regular ethernet cable back in for internet (There is wi-fi coming from the router downstairs but also a cable through the house to the pc) I was ready to go and seeing the wi-fi bars on my phone jump up to maximum made me extremely happy. Unfortunately the phone (and the app Wifi Analyzer) did recognize the full signal but when trying to open sites or apps that use internet it responded as if it had no signal whatsoever
Suddenly the video function on my computer stopped working. I've restored my system to the way it was prior to this loss, but it didn't resolve the problem.

It worked fine on the old switch's FastEthernet port, which was configured for speed 10 and duplex half, as that is what the device required. The new switch is a 3560X with all Gigabit ports, but the security device's port, also configured with speed 10 and duplex half, does not connect properly.As a temporary test, we daisychained another switch that has FastEthernet ports, and the security device works again.Is there anything else that needs to be added to the configuration, when using Gigabit ports at 10/half?

It remained orange(which is its off state) and so I went to the device manager and the wifi adapter was shown there but with an exclamation mark. Showing the error "the device cannot be started(code 10)". So I uninstalled and rebooted, only to get the same error when it got reinstalled.

My connection speed is 30 gb up and 5 GB down.Until now I used a Linksys WRT54GV ver. 2 router to share my connection between my computers and NAS server and it worked ok. In speed tests I normally get approx 25 - 28 GB speed. To optain more speed on my LAN I want to buy a GB router. And here started my problems. First I tried a D-link DIR655, then a Netgear WNDR3700 and latest a Linksys E3000. I all 3 occations my WAN speed droped drasticaly down to between 3 - 5 GB speed, at under a ping test I have a loss of between 10 - 30 % and time on approx 50 ms.If I connect my PC directly to the modem or re-connect my old router it works perfect. I have tried to replace cables etc. etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night on the xbox 360 i was suddenly experiencing alot of lag on other peoples voices. i took no notice of it and the next day i went on my laptop and alot of websites wouldn't load properly.i can go on google,obviously this and my hotmail(after having to wait a long time for the hotmail to load), but others such as ebay will not load. I cannot even access my router settings by typing in my ip address, instead i get a message saying the page cannot be found. also i was disconnected from xbox live with the internet to xbox live part not working. Obviously the first thing i done was turn the router off and back on but it hasn't made any difference.

I bought a TP-Link TL-WR841N which i have managed to setup up properly, i am able to connect to the wireless and get internet access. However the minute i walk out of the room or a few meters away i am disconnected and i can't re-connect, i get the "windows cannot connect to TP-LINK" message. The signal strength in on excellent and i know it works because when i stand near it, it works perfect.I phoned TP-LINK technical support who were pretty useless and couldn't fix the problem.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen I check the strength sometimes it indicates it's good if I'm practically sitting on top of the router, this seems to eventually degrade to low until finally the connection drops.Repairing' with XP repair facility doesn't work. I can forget about getting a connection if I move further away from the router. At the moment I'm relying on using an ethernet cable snaking across the dining room, which isn't really practical with a toddler and a dog racing around. Recently a friend put a bigger HD in and before this it was working fine, so I suspect that it may be due to this. All other users do not have an issue and i receive the following error at roughly the same time of day when the drop happens. Authentication is done by my AD Server which handles all logins.

I not familiar with the ASA 5510 product. I having trouble since last 24 hours and still cant find out the root cause yet. Here is my scenario, my network should be
WAN --- ASA5510 (FW) --- SERVER (192.168.1.0/24)
Now I face the problem, all the NAT static 1-to-1 is working OK. All my public IP can be ping from outside internet. But the problem happen when I try to telnet to port 80 on each server. I had try telnet from my PC to public IP 124.xxx.179 80, it's work fine, but failed on 124.xxx.180 80, then on 124.xxx.181 80, its work fine.
Then I do try on my colleague PC, in same network as mine, I face another case where the public IP 124.xxx.179 80 cannot be telnet, but it's ok for 124.xxx.180, then failed on 124.xxx.181 80.
FYI.. all our PC can ping to the Public IP and no packet lose.
The scenario is very weird, I cant find any other solution as had review my configuration few times.
check does my configuration is working perfectly or not.
