So I have an HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop with window 8 installed and when I try to connect to the internet I keep getting an error that says the "Ethernet" Adapter is not working properly. I used to be able to go on the internet and then my dad had my computer for a while and now it's not working.

It remained orange(which is its off state) and so I went to the device manager and the wifi adapter was shown there but with an exclamation mark. Showing the error "the device cannot be started(code 10)". So I uninstalled and rebooted, only to get the same error when it got reinstalled.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI've been having some problems with my Ethernet connection lately.I unplugged my laptop from the Ethernet connection I had at my old place.At two different locales, I have tried to use an Ethernet connection in order to get better speed (the wireless at the first locale was non-existent and at the second it is extremely slow in my room). I have done so with two separate cables that I have tested on others' computers and found that they are perfectly fine. That, of course, leads me to believe that it is my computer and is either a hardware or software problem (here's hoping it's the latter).Anyway, my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720 (purchased in 2006). About a year ago, I updated to Windows 7 from the pre-installed Vista. Never had any problems (as I said, everything was fine up until about a week ago). The installed card is a Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller. Everything under Device Manager indicates that the hardware is working properly and has all of its drivers installed, but nothing is working.I have tried to uninstall and re-install the drivers (albeit by allowing windows to find them automatically), but the result is the exact same.I have checked the port and found that there is no debris or obstructions. Now Win 7 64 Device Manager is empty- no network adapter found - I get the notice that "there are no properly installed network adapters". I use the on-board network adapter on the mobo, no plug in network card, hard wired to DSL -- like I said, it worked fine for a few days now it's GONE after reformat.

- The ethernet connection WORKS
- The fn+f2 wireless switch combo seems to do nothing
- I've updated the bios
- I've uninstalled and installed the latest driver
- I've installed external USB wireless adapter but it has same issue
- I've scanned for malware, all clean.
When I go to network adapters it has signal bars on the wireless adapter but when I right click -> connect disconnect -> nothing shows as available. If I diagnose, it just says there may be a problem with the wireless adapter. I've tried DISABLING ZoneAlarm firewall to no avail also.
My laptop keeps saying "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-insatll the driver". I've found the right one and it still want install. Says it's the wrong one but i'm pretty sure it's the right one. I just did a fresh install where i put windows 7 extreme on a laptop and i can't seem to ge the right drivers i guess. I don't know if it's the wrong driver or a bad NIC Card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using the USB network adaptor, Model : WUSB600N version 2. It has worked fine whenever I have needed it. Except now. I received “Your adapter may not be installed properly”” ERROR 211: The network adapter is not installed properly” message last night. Also the Windows pop-up message: “USB device not recognized” message. I removed the adaptor and reinstalled it into another USB port. The same thing happened. I moved it again to a third USB port, I received the same error on all five of my PC’s USB ports. I was not able to access the network at all last night.
I brought in laptop into work today , because the antenna/extension is kept there. I inserted the adaptor and it started right up. After an hour of usage, I disconnected the antenna and the adaptor and reinserting the adaptor without the antenna directly into the USB port. And it still worked fine.I turned the PC off, disconnected everything and went to lunch. When I returned, booted up the PC, and inserted the adaptor and, once again got the error message: “ERROR 211 – The network adapter is not installed properly…. I tried again, this time using the antenna, and it is up and working for now.
Using a small network (WAN) with three 1921 routers (IOS 15.1(T)) connected via E1 links. One host (industrial PC - core 2 due running Win XP Pro) connected to each router. The spare Gigabit Ethernet port on each router is bridged with the active one (so a portable management PC (laptop) can be plugged in there and communicate with the router and the industriual PC.
Multicast routing strategy between the routers is as per "Anycast - Static RP", with PIM sparse-mode enabled on all interfaces and sink RP defined on all three routers.
Problem occurs when a (IPV4) multicast application on one PC communicates with the others:
(a) IGMP V2 membersip reports etc. work correctly at the sender and at the other two PCs receiving the multicast stream
(b) Multicast routing on the WAN is working correctly; running Wireshark on the receiving PCs shows that multicast data is received on the expected group.
(c) But, there is an error in the Ethernet packets
i. The first packet's Ethernet header contains the correct destination MAC address 01:00:5E:aa:bb:cc where aa:bb:cc match with the last three octets of the mulicast group's address, and that packet is received OK by the listening multicast application
ii. However, subsequent packets' Ethernet headers have the wrong MAC address 01:00:5E:00:00:00 (the last three octets are all zeroes and these packets are discarded by Windows on the receiving PC and not seen by the multicast application.
Problem is related to the presence of integrated routing & bridging; if I delete the bridge virtual interface,disable bridging and give the two Gigabit Ethernet ports their own IP addresses, the multicast reception works correctly; all received multicast packets have te expected value on the destination MAC address (matching the group address)I have used the same integrated routing/bridging configuration successfully on Cisco 2611 and 2811 routers and there was no such issue with the multicast packets.Have I overlooked some subtle aspect of configuration in the 1921 router or have I uncovered a bug...?

Ipconfig /all shows the IP address as 169.254.117.71 but this is determined by an entry in the registry at HLMSYSTEMCurre....'DhcpIPAddress' - REG_SZ - 169.254.117.71. Also listed at 'IPAutoconfigurationAddress'. My laptop connects fine plugged into the same port getting it's IP automatically (192.168.2.2) and getting internet fine. I've tried adding a DWORD entry 'IPAutoconfigurationEnabled' = 0, also tried deleting the 2 values.Tried setting the IP manually to 192.168.2.6 - limited connectivity goes away but I get no internet connection from the router nor file sharing.

My connection speed is 30 gb up and 5 GB down.Until now I used a Linksys WRT54GV ver. 2 router to share my connection between my computers and NAS server and it worked ok. In speed tests I normally get approx 25 - 28 GB speed. To optain more speed on my LAN I want to buy a GB router. And here started my problems. First I tried a D-link DIR655, then a Netgear WNDR3700 and latest a Linksys E3000. I all 3 occations my WAN speed droped drasticaly down to between 3 - 5 GB speed, at under a ping test I have a loss of between 10 - 30 % and time on approx 50 ms.If I connect my PC directly to the modem or re-connect my old router it works perfect. I have tried to replace cables etc. etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night on the xbox 360 i was suddenly experiencing alot of lag on other peoples voices. i took no notice of it and the next day i went on my laptop and alot of websites wouldn't load properly.i can go on google,obviously this and my hotmail(after having to wait a long time for the hotmail to load), but others such as ebay will not load. I cannot even access my router settings by typing in my ip address, instead i get a message saying the page cannot be found. also i was disconnected from xbox live with the internet to xbox live part not working. I bought a TP-Link TL-WR841N which i have managed to setup up properly, i am able to connect to the wireless and get internet access. However the minute i walk out of the room or a few meters away i am disconnected and i can't re-connect, i get the "windows cannot connect to TP-LINK" message. The signal strength in on excellent and i know it works because when i stand near it, it works perfect.I phoned TP-LINK technical support who were pretty useless and couldn't fix the problem.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen I check the strength sometimes it indicates it's good if I'm practically sitting on top of the router, this seems to eventually degrade to low until finally the connection drops.Repairing' with XP repair facility doesn't work. I can forget about getting a connection if I move further away from the router. At the moment I'm relying on using an ethernet cable snaking across the dining room, which isn't really practical with a toddler and a dog racing around. Recently a friend put a bigger HD in and before this it was working fine, so I suspect that it may be due to this. All other users do not have an issue and i receive the following error at roughly the same time of day when the drop happens. Authentication is done by my AD Server which handles all logins.

I not familiar with the ASA 5510 product. I having trouble since last 24 hours and still cant find out the root cause yet. Here is my scenario, my network should be
WAN --- ASA5510 (FW) --- SERVER (192.168.1.0/24)
Now I face the problem, all the NAT static 1-to-1 is working OK. All my public IP can be ping from outside internet. But the problem happen when I try to telnet to port 80 on each server. I had try telnet from my PC to public IP 124.xxx.179 80, it's work fine, but failed on 124.xxx.180 80, then on 124.xxx.181 80, its work fine.
Then I do try on my colleague PC, in same network as mine, I face another case where the public IP 124.xxx.179 80 cannot be telnet, but it's ok for 124.xxx.180, then failed on 124.xxx.181 80.
FYI.. all our PC can ping to the Public IP and no packet lose.
The scenario is very weird, I cant find any other solution as had review my configuration few times.

I have one Flex WLC 7510 using software version 7.0.220, And all APs are 1131.
I have some sites with H-Reap, where H-Reap is configured properly.
The Access Points are set with AP Group. AP Group is configured properly too.
Each AP Group was configured for one site, and they was configured with 2 SSIDs. All sites has 2 differents SSIDs. During some basic tests, in one site with 9 APs, I saw:
1. When the Access Points are registred on WLC, all APs are working fine. All APs has your 2 SSID added on slot 0 (radio 0)
2. If I disable the link between WLC and Access Points, 7 access points delete SSIDs on your AP Groups and replace it with 16 SSIDs (SSIDs on Default Group) configured on WLC.
The Network icon in the notification area in the bottom right hand corner of my screen will almost always look like this:Quite frequently, though, I will get an exclamation mark inside a triangle with a message instead saying No internet access (I don't have a screenshot). If I give it a few seconds, usually never more than a minute (30 seconds on average it seems), it corrects itself and gives me back internet access.
I recently made an old router into a repeater by using DD-WRT. It seems to be working fine if I use LAN, but I cannot get WLAN to function properly. When I go to add a virtual interface and all the proper info, I all of a sudden cannot connect to the Internet. More specifically it seems to not assign me an IP address.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI checked what she needed, updated her drivers for Ethernet and Wireless, and the Device Manager is stating that they are both working fine. (no ! or ? on them)When I plug in an ethernet cable it works fine. It gets connection pretty well through my BT Infinity modem.However the wireless will not pick up any connections at all. I attempted troubleshooting, and all it says, "Your network adapter is experiencing problems" etc.I thought that I may need to turn on Wireless Association on the modem, but that didn't work. My dads laptop is also a Windows 7 Laptop and that works fine and will bring up all connections in the area, including mine.
So I googled around, and I found that I may need to turn on a wireless switch. After looking around the laptop, I noticed two things. 1) There is no wireless switch, and 2) There is an orange light above the WIFI symbol.So I googled around a bit more, and found it might be turned off in the FN+f8 Flash card feature. At first I couldn't actually bring this up, so I reinstalled the flash card, and it began to work. It claims the wireless connection is "On".I am not sure what to do next. I have checked the services to make sure WLAN Autoconfig is on Automatic, and Started, and it is. I also tried disabling, then enabling both ethernet, and wireless connections, which did nothing.
I just installed windows xp pro 64bit and i am not able to use it im guessing because i need the correct driver, ive tried looking around but couldnt find anything. I also try it working with Windows 7 ultimate (64bit) and i could not get it working on that either.
