I just installed windows xp pro 64bit and i am not able to use it im guessing because i need the correct driver, ive tried looking around but couldnt find anything. I also try it working with Windows 7 ultimate (64bit) and i could not get it working on that either.

Just got a new router. All of my devices connect fine to it except for the desktop that is using an external Linksys wireless adapter (WUSB54AG).The desktop is running Windows XP (Home Edition) SP3.The latest driver for the adapter has been installed (3.0.18.0).I am able to connect if security on the router is turned OFF.The router has 3 security options:
1) WPA-PSK (TKIP)
2) WPA2-PSK (AES)
3) WPA-PSk (TKIP) + WPA2-PSK (AES)
My understanding (from Linksys tech support) is that the device SHOULD be able to connect using WPA-PSK (TKIP). My Linksys Monitor indicates that the device is connected to the access point but not the internet (when I used WPA-PSK (TKIP). The IP address that is assigned is 169.254.3.129 and not the expected 192.168.1.x.When I turn security OFF on the router, the device can connect and I am assigned a "good" IP address (192.168.1.x).
I am surprised the Linksys support page does not provide the driver of WUSB54AG after I found I lost the CD. Where I can download it?

The Linksys icon shows 'Cannot associate with the access point'. I called Verizon and was told that the adaptor might have problem. View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using the USB network adaptor, Model : WUSB600N version 2. It has worked fine whenever I have needed it. Except now. I received “Your adapter may not be installed properly”” ERROR 211: The network adapter is not installed properly” message last night. Also the Windows pop-up message: “USB device not recognized” message. I removed the adaptor and reinstalled it into another USB port. The same thing happened. I moved it again to a third USB port, I received the same error on all five of my PC’s USB ports. I was not able to access the network at all last night.
I brought in laptop into work today , because the antenna/extension is kept there. I inserted the adaptor and it started right up. After an hour of usage, I disconnected the antenna and the adaptor and reinserting the adaptor without the antenna directly into the USB port. And it still worked fine.I turned the PC off, disconnected everything and went to lunch. When I returned, booted up the PC, and inserted the adaptor and, once again got the error message: “ERROR 211 – The network adapter is not installed properly…. I tried again, this time using the antenna, and it is up and working for now.
I've purchased a wmp600n pci adapter january this year and installed it with no problems and did not encoutner a single problem with it until today. I use windows 7 64bit.
I've just came back from a 3 week absence and turned on my computer for the first time since i left. I notice that I have no wireless connection. So i go to network connections and realize that my wireless adapter dosent even show up..only my lan card. So i check my device manager, and under network adapters, i can see my wireless adapter, but with an exclamation mark next to it. I check the properties, and under the status box, it gives me this message.Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).
So i do what it says, and flash my bios to the latest version. After the update, I check the device manager, and the error message is still there. I check my wireless adapter driver version and it is v3.0.2, which is the latest version according to the linksys driver download webpage. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the adapter but no luck there. I also checked to see if maybe there was a problem with my pci slot and that was not the problem because I was able to use my older wireless adapter.
I have the WUSB600N wireless adapter, and I'm using it with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I'm using the latest driver available, 3.0.10.0. When Windows first starts, the adapter is not working properly and fails to connect to any networks, no matter how long I wait. If I unplug it and plug it back in after Windows is already running, I do not have this issue. This also does not occur when "restarting" the machine; only when turning the machine off and then back on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using my AE1000 for about a month now with absolutely no problems. Yesterday it just stopped working, I removed it from the USB port and just about burned my fingers on the metal part that plugs into the USB port. BTW I am on Windows 7 64-bit.
Now it won't work. I've tried reinstalling the driver and the device just blinks in the "Devices and Printers" control panel. I removed it again and it was very hot to the touch after only being in the port for about a minute.
Ive been using my linksys wusb54g network adapter for a while. I have windows vista and until today it has been working fine. I reinstalled my OS because i had been having blue screen of death problems. Now that i've done this, i cant seem to get my adapter to work againIve seen a bunch of sites saying i need to install ralink rt2500usb or something, but the links for it never work as these pages are several years old.I cant figure this out. All i need to do is get my internet working and this adapter just doesnt work. Theres no support for vista i guess.

I have installed and downloaded the latest drivers ( Driver11/09/2009 Ver.3.0.3.0 (64-bit)). Device manager reports everything is fine, but i can't find the adapter anywhere in the Network and Sharing Center on both machines, not even if i run ipconfig it won't show up. As a result of course there is no wireless connection available. Although adapter has worked fine when tested under win7 x32. But win7 x32 is not my case.

Before I used a cable for xp and wireless for Ubuntu. Now I use cable for ubuntu and I try with key usb on windows xp sp3, but doesn't work, I see led, System says that connected, but If I do ping to a site via dos terminal it doesn't work. It doesn't work also if I use internet explorer to see google, but system says connected via linksys.
So I need to solve issue with windows xp, then I hope to solve also for Ubuntu.
My AE1000 has worked for about 2 weeks, but just stopped working. Have tried to reinstall but it won't recognize the adapter. I can't click the "next" button to continue the installation. I have chagned the USB ports and restarted the computer. But it still wont install. I have Windows Vista. I also have Norton, do I need to uninstall this?

I never got the screen with the four "bubbles" (as per the instructions here on the Cisco website)

I have a E2500 router and just got this AE3000 adapter. Thought that would bump up the wireless signal for using my laptop at the other end of the house about 75 feet from the router. The new E2500 Wireless N has been a big improvement. The AE3000 installed perfectly and shows up as working properly. It's just that the signal strength on my laptop shows 2 bars and the signal strength for the adapter shows 2 bars.

I've uninstalled the software that came with the adapter and I've tried to reinstall it. However, when I got to the installation step to insert the adapter, the computer would not identify the AE2500. View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the WET610N Wireless Bridge to use with my Samsung BD-P1590 Blu-Ray Player. The player has a few built in apps that include Netflix, Bockbuster, Pandora and YouTube. I successfully setup the bridge and hooked it up to the blu-ray player. It wasn't that hard. All the internet apps on the player work fine except Netflix. The first time I use the netfix app, it is supposed to give me a code that I use to register the device with netflix. However, I get a message that Netflix is temporarily unavailable. I have called netflix and they assure me that this is not the case and that it is most likely my wireless setup. The troubleshooting on Samsungs website points to the same thing. With that said, I disconnected the player from the wireless bridge and wired it directly to my router. Netflix works just fine then. Below is a list of things I have attempted:Disable the firewall on the router to see if it was blocking the app. (had the same results)Checked my firmware on all my devices (they are all current)Powered down all my devices and started them up back up starting with my DSL modem and ending with he blu-ray player (same results)Configured the bridge and player to use a static IP vs using the IPs automatically assigned by the router. (same results)Disabled aggregation on all WMM categories. I don't think the WRV54G router supports aggregation,, so I though this might cause a conflict with my setup. (same results)Enabled the broadcasting of SSID (same results)Chatted with linksys support. They basically checked to see if I had the latest firmware and that the bridge was working. They then recommended that I exchange the bridge for a new one. (I have not exchanged it for a new one yet, just because I am not convinced that there isn't something else wrong with my setup)My Configuration

I am not sure if the problem lies with the routewr or the bridge. I am hoping someone out there can confirm that the WET610N truly does work whne using it with a BD-P1590 blu-ray player. This would lead me to believe that there is something wrong with my configuration or with using it combination with my older router. I would like to note also, that I have had one instance where BD Live didn't work. However, it has worked on other disks.
Im having a problem with my wireless. My whole family is connented. to wireless. But when we all use it together it goes so slow. Like 4 some times only 2 people using it at the same time.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen I check the strength sometimes it indicates it's good if I'm practically sitting on top of the router, this seems to eventually degrade to low until finally the connection drops.Repairing' with XP repair facility doesn't work. I can forget about getting a connection if I move further away from the router. At the moment I'm relying on using an ethernet cable snaking across the dining room, which isn't really practical with a toddler and a dog racing around. Recently a friend put a bigger HD in and before this it was working fine, so I suspect that it may be due to this. I think it's due to the wirless card in the laptop, as I have a number of other devices in the house which all work fine.

(no ! or ? on them)When I plug in an ethernet cable it works fine. It gets connection pretty well through my BT Infinity modem.However the wireless will not pick up any connections at all. I attempted troubleshooting, and all it says, "Your network adapter is experiencing problems" etc.I thought that I may need to turn on Wireless Association on the modem, but that didn't work. My dads laptop is also a Windows 7 Laptop and that works fine and will bring up all connections in the area, including mine.
So I googled around, and I found that I may need to turn on a wireless switch. After looking around the laptop, I noticed two things. 1) There is no wireless switch, and 2) There is an orange light above the WIFI symbol.So I googled around a bit more, and found it might be turned off in the FN+f8 Flash card feature. At first I couldn't actually bring this up, so I reinstalled the flash card, and it began to work. It claims the wireless connection is "On".I am not sure what to do next. I have checked the services to make sure WLAN Autoconfig is on Automatic, and Started, and it is. I also tried disabling, then enabling both ethernet, and wireless connections, which did nothing.
I've got a Gateway 2wire 3800 HGV-B router which works fine wirelessly, but when using an ethernet cable to connect to the internet, it doesn't even recognize the computer.
