View 3 RepliesDue to me losing the install CD for this card in a recent move, I am trying to download this driver from the LinkSys site and the process never starts, i.e. the download dialogue box comes up and I choose "save" because I need to sneaker-net the thing to another PC in the house.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a WM600N wireless N dual band, I downloaded the drivers off linksys site for my vista 32/64 OS, the file is zipped, I copied it to cd from a different pc then the one it goes onto, and cannot run it, I also opened up the zipped file and copied its contents onto a cd and still couldn't get the pc to see them as drivers.Anyway, after I download the zipped file, which I have to do on a second pc in order to put on a second pc, how do I do that? What do I do with the zipped river file in order to get vista to see it and install it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got a new router. All of my devices connect fine to it except for the desktop that is using an external Linksys wireless adapter (WUSB54AG).The desktop is running Windows XP (Home Edition) SP3.The latest driver for the adapter has been installed (3.0.18.0).I am able to connect if security on the router is turned OFF.The router has 3 security options:
1) WPA-PSK (TKIP)
2) WPA2-PSK (AES)
3) WPA-PSk (TKIP) + WPA2-PSK (AES)
My understanding (from Linksys tech support) is that the device SHOULD be able to connect using WPA-PSK (TKIP). My Linksys Monitor indicates that the device is connected to the access point but not the internet (when I used WPA-PSK (TKIP). The IP address that is assigned is 169.254.3.129 and not the expected 192.168.1.x.When I turn security OFF on the router, the device can connect and I am assigned a "good" IP address (192.168.1.x).
My desktop can go to internet with ethernet wire on. After installing wireless adaptor driver, the adaptor shows green solid light on 'power' and blinking light on 'Link'. The Linksys icon shows 'Cannot associate with the access point'. I called Verizon and was told that the adaptor might have problem. I want to know if really the adaptor's problem or the adaptor installation problem.

I have an E1000 router and have updated the firmware to v2.1.02 Build 6. Also have the AE1000 Wireless-N Adapter and wanted to see if there were any new updates. According to this Linksys page the latest driver is Ver.3.1.12.0 (04/27/2012). I have downloaded the file and unzipped it to the desktop.
I am running Win 7 64-Bit so I opened this folder: C:UsersJOHNDesktopAE1000_Win7_3.1.12.0-WHQLWin7_64_v3.1.12.0
Which file will actually install the new driver:

I had an antenna break on a WMP54g v 4.1 and I was able to replace it with a WMP54g v 4 but I'm not having a lot of luck getting the driver to install. This is on Win7 32 bit Home Premium. I assume this is due to the fact that I was using a newer and switched to an older piece of hardware and there is some driver issues. How to uninstall the old driver completely so I can start fresh I have tried everything I know to do and can't seem to get anywhere.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhere I can find a driver for:WMP54g v2 for Vista SP2 32bit It used to work just fine, until I recently reinstalled Vista (and installed all the updates) and now my internet connection is "limited." This means that it connects, but is extremely slow and the connection goes in and out. Here are some random notes about my problem:
Nothing is disabled, there are not any conflicts, and the problem remains even if I restore the OS back to restore point that I created right after reinstalling Vista (and before doing anything else). If I hook the computer directly up to my netgear router via cable, Windows Update will download and install a more recent version of said driver (no improvement).Other laptops in the house have no problems with the wifi. I have turned off both my cable modem and wifi router several times. The adapter does connect to the internet, and the signal strength is "excellent", but if drill down to the properties of the connection, it says that IPV4 is connected to the internet, but IPV6 is "limited." This then results in a very weak connection to the internet that goes in and out. I have tried unchecking IPV6 per some recommendations, but that did not work. I have tried resetting everything (winsock, etc) via command prompt. Firewall is off, no antivirus software
I just installed windows 7 on my wifes new com and the device couldn't detect any connections using the default drivers (windows called it an nvidia wireless network card). I downloaded the drivers put them on her hd via flash drive and attempted to update the device drivers through the device manager but it says the drivers are already up to date. I uninstalled the device and windows called the device MCF-J415W and when I tried to update the drivers again it said the drivers were not correct. I'm not sure what is going on here and why linksys doesn't just have a .exe driver installer. I've had the same issue with my wife's computer when it had win xp except it didn't have any generic drivers to install. Also I tried selecting the driver from the list of pre-loaded drivers and found one for the exact device but it would not install those either.
