View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought this adapter (WUSB11) not knowing there were two different kind of wireless networks. We have a wireless-G router and NOT a wireless-B. I do not want to open the boxes to try the adapters. Will the wireless-B adapters be compatible with the wireless-G router?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a bit of an issue. A friend of mine has recently gotten windows 7 installed into his desktop. When he tried to install the network adapter (wusb11 version 2.8), it installed. However, when we searched for it in the device manager, it did not appear. does Version 2.8 only cover up to Windows XP or is there software to make it work for Windows 7?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using the USB network adaptor, Model : WUSB600N version 2. It has worked fine whenever I have needed it. Except now. I received “Your adapter may not be installed properly”” ERROR 211: The network adapter is not installed properly” message last night. Also the Windows pop-up message: “USB device not recognized” message. I removed the adaptor and reinstalled it into another USB port. The same thing happened. I moved it again to a third USB port, I received the same error on all five of my PC’s USB ports. I was not able to access the network at all last night.
I brought in laptop into work today , because the antenna/extension is kept there. I inserted the adaptor and it started right up. After an hour of usage, I disconnected the antenna and the adaptor and reinserting the adaptor without the antenna directly into the USB port. And it still worked fine.I turned the PC off, disconnected everything and went to lunch. When I returned, booted up the PC, and inserted the adaptor and, once again got the error message: “ERROR 211 – The network adapter is not installed properly…. I tried again, this time using the antenna, and it is up and working for now.
I am trying to install a WPC54G adapter in a Compaq EVO N610C Laptop with Windows XP SP3 and it has a Texas Instrument PCI-1420 CardBus Controller. Adapter is inactive. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, download updated drivers from Linksys.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat are the maximum number of AE2500 wireless adapters can be installed on a PC running Windows XP SP3 using the windows wireless zero configuration? Recently I'm working on a program that needs multiple seperate wireless connections on a Windows XP SP3 PC. Each wireless adaptor is given a static IP address to respond to traffic at some specific ports. I can install four AE2500 adaptors without problem, but it disconnects the first AE2500 device when I plug in the fifth AE2500 adapter. I've tried on different windows XP machines. They all get the same problem. I wonder if it is a limitation in the AE2500 driver.BTW I've also tried to install an Valet AM10 adaptor as the fifth adapter, it seems ok. Yet installing more AM10 adapters beyond the fifth (4 AE2500 + 1 AM10) requires some luck. It may disconnect the other AM10 devices when I plug in another AM10 adapter.

I have an E1000 router and have updated the firmware to v2.1.02 Build 6. Also have the AE1000 Wireless-N Adapter and wanted to see if there were any new updates. According to this Linksys page the latest driver is Ver.3.1.12.0 (04/27/2012). I have downloaded the file and unzipped it to the desktop.
I am running Win 7 64-Bit so I opened this folder: C:UsersJOHNDesktopAE1000_Win7_3.1.12.0-WHQLWin7_64_v3.1.12.0
Which file will actually install the new driver:

I had an antenna break on a WMP54g v 4.1 and I was able to replace it with a WMP54g v 4 but I'm not having a lot of luck getting the driver to install. This is on Win7 32 bit Home Premium. I assume this is due to the fact that I was using a newer and switched to an older piece of hardware and there is some driver issues. How to uninstall the old driver completely so I can start fresh I have tried everything I know to do and can't seem to get anywhere.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhere I can find a driver for:WMP54g v2 for Vista SP2 32bit It used to work just fine, until I recently reinstalled Vista (and installed all the updates) and now my internet connection is "limited." This means that it connects, but is extremely slow and the connection goes in and out. Here are some random notes about my problem:
Nothing is disabled, there are not any conflicts, and the problem remains even if I restore the OS back to restore point that I created right after reinstalling Vista (and before doing anything else). If I hook the computer directly up to my netgear router via cable, Windows Update will download and install a more recent version of said driver (no improvement).Other laptops in the house have no problems with the wifi. I have turned off both my cable modem and wifi router several times. The adapter does connect to the internet, and the signal strength is "excellent", but if drill down to the properties of the connection, it says that IPV4 is connected to the internet, but IPV6 is "limited." This then results in a very weak connection to the internet that goes in and out. I have tried unchecking IPV6 per some recommendations, but that did not work. I have tried resetting everything (winsock, etc) via command prompt. Firewall is off, no antivirus software
I just installed windows 7 on my wifes new com and the device couldn't detect any connections using the default drivers (windows called it an nvidia wireless network card). I downloaded the drivers put them on her hd via flash drive and attempted to update the device drivers through the device manager but it says the drivers are already up to date. I uninstalled the device and windows called the device MCF-J415W and when I tried to update the drivers again it said the drivers were not correct. I'm not sure what is going on here and why linksys doesn't just have a .exe driver installer. I've had the same issue with my wife's computer when it had win xp except it didn't have any generic drivers to install. Also I tried selecting the driver from the list of pre-loaded drivers and found one for the exact device but it would not install those either.
