Linksys Wireless Adapters :: Will WUSB11 Be Compatible With G Router?
Apr 13, 2007
I bought this adapter (WUSB11) not knowing there were two different kind of wireless networks. We have a wireless-G router and NOT a wireless-B. I do not want to open the boxes to try the adapters. Will the wireless-B adapters be compatible with the wireless-G router?

I've got a bit of an issue. A friend of mine has recently gotten windows 7 installed into his desktop. When he tried to install the network adapter (wusb11 version 2.8), it installed. However, when we searched for it in the device manager, it did not appear. does Version 2.8 only cover up to Windows XP or is there software to make it work for Windows 7?

I have a WUSB11 Wireless B and wonder if it accepts WPA2 security, I originally had my router set to WPA, and the wireless B worked fine, I have since changed to WPA2 and notice the Wireless B device won't connect.

I have had no problems with the WUSB54GS connecting to the WRT54GS up until last Friday...it can no longer connect to the router and reports that the network cannot be found. When i refresh the list of available networks i can "see" the router on the wireless PC but when an attempt to connect is made,it fails.OK,i rang up Linksys tech support today and we tried everything possible to work out what the problem was e:g uninstalling/reinstalling the software, updating the routers firmware, disabling security, trying all channels 1 thru 11,using WEP,using WPA,changing SSID name, using secure easy setup, using windows wireless configuration, changing USB leads nothing will make the device connect.

I'm having trouble connecting using this new card i bought. i have installed the latest drivers and i can find networks and the signal strength is good too but when trying to connect after ive entered the passkey i get the message " no network found" or "did not receive response from router" or something along those lines. i can connect with my older card which is a wmp54g but that one shows less signal strength and my connection breaks from time to time (hence the upgrade to wmp600n) on a sidenote, my wmp600n card works perfectly fine under linux but i want it to run in windows (mainly for gaming) Im running windows vista 64 bit and the wmp600n has the latest drivers installed.

I am using my wireless adapter..a Linksys AE1000..to connect to a friend's ATT U-Verse high speed internet for a few weeks. Due to a petty argument with his girlfriend..I overheard her and her friend and discovered that she had logged into the Uverse router/modem (192.168.1.254), which shows all devices that are connected. On this page it has links to access files for each device. Clicking on that, she was able to read all my files. Nothing to hide, I just don't like snoopers and even wonder if she could change settings or do something to mess up my computer. I cannot figure out how to block access by her Uverse thru my Linksys wireless adapter.
I normally do not allow any sort of file sharing and everywhere I have looked on my PC, nothing is enabled to file share or remote desktop share or anything like that. I'm not a total noob but have no clue if and how I can change this on my end so that she cannot get into my PC while I'm connected to their internet. Their router/modem is a 3800HGV-B.

I recently bought an AE1000 wireless adaptor, but I have run into a problem. The range on the device is very low, as the only way to get full signal is when the router and device are right next to each other.I have read that this could be due to the device operating on 5.0Ghz frequency, and that this setting is changed through the Cisco Connect software. This software was not in the Setup CD, and the online installer did not install the software either.

I have been having problems with my Linksys WMP600N adapter and trying to connect to the internet. It started a few weeks ago in my old house, where it wouldn't connect unless I rebooted the router, or it would take a long time (over half an hour after being turned on to connect.)Then when I moved it got worse. At the moment it finds the wireless signals avaiable to it, but when I click connect it fails very quickly. It doesn't even try and connect, as it doesn't ask me for my wireless password. When I do get it connected, if I reboot the router and mess around, it kicks me off after a while, and then instead of showing the network available to connect to, shows it with a red cross beside, and I have to go and edit the security settings, or delete the profile and try and connect again. I have tried googling, but various different searches have turned up empty handed. My desktop is running Win 7 64bitThe rest of the specs are Core i7 920 CPU, Asus P6T Deluxe v2 Mobo, 12Gig RAM, Asus GTX 670 GPU, a Corsair SSD, 2 1TB HDDs and 1 2TB one.My Windows 7 laptop connects fine, and our Media Centre PC had some problems before I was here, but works fine now too.

Cannot connect to network with WUSB11. A few days ago I installed driver version 4.0 on a Windows 7.0 OS. I was able to connect. Then I had to change the modem to a Motorola nvgs10. The wireless adapter recognizes the modem as it appears in my available networks from the systray. However it will not connect.

I have been using the WUSB54GSC for several years with no issues until a few months ago. Periodically, it will lose connection to the network. It shows it is connected, but I can not ping the router or do anything else unless I reboot the computer. Thinking it was the WUSB54GSC (I had the Ver 1) I got a new one (a Ver 2). Same thing except now it seems to be happening more frequently (one time, less than an hour after rebooting). I have moved it to other USB ports, uninstalled and reinstalled it, everything I can think of.

with my Linksys WRT150N router in "N-only" mode, the usb adapter WUSB100 doesn't connect. In the datasheet is written that it is B-G, but also N compatible..[URL] It connects only when the router is on "mixed mode" (B-G-N).
The device works great, the only thing is that it doesn't connect to N networks.... cause i think it is not N compatible. When i look for networks, Windows shows me that there is my N network, but when i click connect, after a few seconds, appears "impossible to connect".... but if i set the router on "mixed mode", no problems.

I recently purchased the WET610N Wireless Bridge to use with my Samsung BD-P1590 Blu-Ray Player. The player has a few built in apps that include Netflix, Bockbuster, Pandora and YouTube. I successfully setup the bridge and hooked it up to the blu-ray player. It wasn't that hard. All the internet apps on the player work fine except Netflix. The first time I use the netfix app, it is supposed to give me a code that I use to register the device with netflix. However, I get a message that Netflix is temporarily unavailable. I have called netflix and they assure me that this is not the case and that it is most likely my wireless setup. The troubleshooting on Samsungs website points to the same thing. With that said, I disconnected the player from the wireless bridge and wired it directly to my router. Netflix works just fine then. Below is a list of things I have attempted:Disable the firewall on the router to see if it was blocking the app. (had the same results)Checked my firmware on all my devices (they are all current)Powered down all my devices and started them up back up starting with my DSL modem and ending with he blu-ray player (same results)Configured the bridge and player to use a static IP vs using the IPs automatically assigned by the router. (same results)Disabled aggregation on all WMM categories. I don't think the WRV54G router supports aggregation,, so I though this might cause a conflict with my setup. (same results)Enabled the broadcasting of SSID (same results)Chatted with linksys support. They basically checked to see if I had the latest firmware and that the bridge was working. They then recommended that I exchange the bridge for a new one. (I have not exchanged it for a new one yet, just because I am not convinced that there isn't something else wrong with my setup)My Configuration
DSL Modem --> WRV54G Linksys Wireless Router --> WET54G Wirelss Bredge --> Samsung BD-P1590 Blu-Ray Player
Router is broadcasting in Wireless G only on channel 1
Using WAP-PSK encryption
I am not sure if the problem lies with the routewr or the bridge. I am hoping someone out there can confirm that the WET610N truly does work whne using it with a BD-P1590 blu-ray player. This would lead me to believe that there is something wrong with my configuration or with using it combination with my older router. I would like to note also, that I have had one instance where BD Live didn't work. However, it has worked on other disks.
