Purchased about 1 year ago. I was told that Belkin designs it this way so we have to buy a new one regularly. But 1 year!!! That is terrible. Is it true? Is this older router no good? View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently, I have setup a demo lab with the UC320W + IP Phones and OnPlus Network Agent all connected to a SG300-28P. I have just obtained an SRP547W because I wanted to use the 3G/4G internet connection via the router as my demo lab is an isolated network.Now, I tried to a couple of 3G modem (UMG181) and 4G Telstra modem (MF821) on the SRP547W but none of these work. I had a look at the compatibility tableI guess those modem models are not listed there. However, when I went on say the Optus website to scout for a more compatible model, none of them hit it right on the mark. The matrix says it can support E180 (while Optus has the E188), E353 (while Optus has the E353). I have already wasted my money on getting the earlier stated 3G/4G Modems and I ain't going to take a chance again.

When I connect the adapter, after a while, the 3g modem disconnects and turns red, and the modem connection software says it cant find the usb 3g device. It feels like the windows is somehow mixing the adapter, and the 3g modem or somthing. Again this same problem happens with multiple devices. Is there some settting im missing.

I am using my wireless adapter..a Linksys AE1000..to connect to a friend's ATT U-Verse high speed internet for a few weeks. Due to a petty argument with his girlfriend..I overheard her and her friend and discovered that she had logged into the Uverse router/modem (192.168.1.254), which shows all devices that are connected. On this page it has links to access files for each device. Clicking on that, she was able to read all my files. Nothing to hide, I just don't like snoopers and even wonder if she could change settings or do something to mess up my computer. I cannot figure out how to block access by her Uverse thru my Linksys wireless adapter.
I normally do not allow any sort of file sharing and everywhere I have looked on my PC, nothing is enabled to file share or remote desktop share or anything like that. I'm not a total noob but have no clue if and how I can change this on my end so that she cannot get into my PC while I'm connected to their internet. Their router/modem is a 3800HGV-B.
there could be complications, but it appears the WPM300N is 'bad'?my wife's computer (XP SP3) recently started freezing at random times. Once while surfing she got a BSOD. The last few days it had gotten much worse, sometimes the freeze occuring during the boot process, and again at random points.
What I tried was determing all new s/w installs and deleting them still didn't fix the problem. Next I used some Norton Ghost back-ups restoration from the time period she had the freezes... still was freezing. Next an image from long ago and it still froze. Got me thinking it was h/w related. She has a wireless mouse and keyboard. Put in wired units, still froze.
A few days ago my router died. It couldn't get a WAN IP Address from the ISP's cable modem. ISP verified the modem was working by having me attach directly to it one of my wired computers. This router was a new (2 months old) ASUS RT-N56U. I put back my old LinkSys WRT600N. In doing so I had to change the passphrase. This turned out to be a big assist to me determining what went wrong.
On each of the restores of an image, the system never froze, not until I connected to the router by giving the proper passphrase, but usually after that. When it happened (I did multiple image restores) when I was in Safe Mode with Network as it was connecting, the implication was clear it was the WMP300N.
As luck would have it, I had another card taken out of my old computer. Put that card in and so far, he computer has NOT frozen up. I've restored all the deleted items and Windows Updates and all other Updates (Norton ISS, Flash, Adobe) and it is running fine.
So I just got hooked up to the internet via qwest the other day with my room mate. We have a wireless modem (PK5000) and he's using the AE2500 usb adapter to get online. Now, he can get online, but if he ever turns off or sleeps his computer, he can't connect when he turns it back on. His computer can see the network, full signal, but when he tries to connect it says cannot connect and under troubleshoot options suggests we should move his computer closer to the modem, but its only about 20 feet away and shows full signal. To get it to work, we need to go into the modem config and reset the wireless options. No changes are made, just scroll to the bottom and click apply, and presto change he can connect with no problems.He's running windows 7 home edition 64 bit. The modem's security is WPA/WPA2.

While the card incorporates Bluetooth, it's a very basic wireless card.While I had a 'G' series router, the laptop connectivity was great and never dropped me off the network, however when I upgraded my router to a new 'N' series, my laptop would constantly drop off my network, requiring a constant resetting of my wireless adapter to get me back online. Other devices were fine on the same router.Thinking my laptop was faulty, I sent it back to Toshiba under warranty and while it tested ok, they replaced the wireless card as a precaution. When I got it home, it was exactly the same, constantly disconnecting.I've tried every troubleshooting measure available and I've come to the opinion I need to put a much better wireless adapter in my machine, especially if I want to utilize 'N' routers.

I have an E1200 and an AE2500 adapter..I cannot get the ae2500 to connect to the router. I have another Belkin adapter that connects just fine but it only has speed up to 150mbps. I want to connect using the other adapter but cannot seem to get it working with this router.
