View 2 RepliesI'm visiting at my aunt's house and her Linksys was not working properly, so I reset it to factory default, and it's working now, except now I cannot seem to find the how-to page on how to set up the WEP security again (or another security variation...whatever is appropriate now for a home-based router).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to restore my laptop yesterday and i reset my router (WRT100). I ran all the Microsoft updates, but I didn't do anything with the router other than going to the Linksys site to try to make it secure. My computer seems to be recognizing the router (although it is still saying it is an unsecured connection) but I cannot get on the internet. The problem seems to be when I pull up the Network Connections window the "Internet Gateway-Internet Connection" is showing disabled. I cannot enable.Everytime I try, it says "connecting...Connection failed!". I can plug the ethernet from the modem to the computer and it works and the "Internet Gateway" doesn't appear, but when I try through the router it does. I want to set up the router because I have two computers that need internet access.
Three connections are listed--Wireless Access, LAN, and 1394 Connection. All are listed as connected, firewalled. The second computer is also giving me a problem. There is the wireless issue, but when I connect the ethernet from the computer directly to the modem I am asked if I want to connect via Broadband and am asked for a username/password. There is no username/password. I've contacted my ISP (Cox cable) and confimred there is no password.
I have a WRT100 wireless router, which is configured for a PPPOE connection to my ISP. After running one of the tools to determine responsiveness of DNS name services, I would like to manually configure my DNS services, placing a more responsive service as my first DNS choice. In the router administration, I can configure three static DNS IP's. However, I don't see any place in the configuration to turn off the automatic DNS configuration from my ISP. So, when I issue an IPCONFIG /ALL on my computer, the DNS listing shows two DNS Name Services from my ISP ahead of the three static DNS IP's that I configured.

I am unable to log in to my wireless network with my TV. It worked with my old router but the EA4500 recognizes the network but will not accept the password. Even if I open up my guest network which is not secured by a password it will not connect to my home network. I've chatted with Cisco and Visio on this problem and Visio says it's an encryption problem with the router. Cisco wants me to have someone call me who charges for tech repairs.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have several devices connected to my Linksys EA4500. Two of them are my Apple Mac Pro and my Logitech Squeezebox Radio. For some reason, in 'Device List', my Apple Mac Pro has the manufacturer 'Logitech' and the model 'Squeezebox Radio'. As for my Logitech Squeezebox Radio, it doesn't have a manufacturer nor a model. It appears that there is a mix up with these two devices. I have cross checked the IP addresses and MAC addresses displayed in Cisco Connect Cloud with those displayed on the devices and they match - so it's not a case of mixed up names. Could this be an issue with Cisco Connect Cloud?
