View 9 RepliesMy problem is this: Randomly, the DIR-825 will prohibit streaming to my AirPort Express via AirTunes. It'll also disappear from Bonjour Browser and AirPort Utility. I can connect directly to it, if I enter the IP into the AirPort utility directly. The only way to get it to come back is to either reboot the DIR-825, reboot the AE, or unplug the ethernet to the AE.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an Apple TV 2 and am trying to use it with Airplay at my business. We have a WLC526 controller and three 521 access points.
We have a guest VLAN on our network which spans both the wired and wireless networks. The guest VLAN is VLAN # 100 and the numbering is 172.16.1.0/24. On this network, 172.16.1.1 is an interface on our ASA which clients on the guest VLAN use as a default gateway. On the wireless side, there is an SSID configured in the controller called LPGA-Guest which is bound to VLAN # 100. Clients that connect to this VLAN get addresses in 172.16.1.0/24 and can access the Internet through the ASA without any trouble. This has all been set up and working for quite some time.
What I have done is attached both the Apple TV and an iPhone 5 to the LPGA-Guest wireless network. I verified that they both have IP addresses in the same subnet, but when I try to bring up a list of airplay devices on the iPhone, nothing shows up. From what I gather, this is because multicast traffic is not being handled properly.
The following two threads have some info that I was looking at:

This is how I have the multicast options configured in my controller. I don't see an option to enable IGMP snooping.
I've got an apple Airport Express and have managed to set it into my network. Airplay works on both Itunes and my phone. However after 10-15minutes the Airplay drops out and the network map shows that the airport express is 'offline'. however the airport express LED remains showing it still have connection to the network. The only way to get it back is to reset the AE. The apple forum has lots of people stating the same problem with WAG120n routers.
-Router Firmware V 1.00.16
-Airport Express firmware version 7.6.1
-windows Vista
I need a wifi extender for wag 120n , and i want to connect it with WDSI use wag 120n as main and only modem and access pointWhat is the best and cheapest device for me?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an E2000 router that has an intermittent issue where Bonjour drops out. Suddenly my Apple TV won't see my computers, and my iPad won't see my network printer. This happens whether the Apple TV and computers are connected via wired or wireless interfaces.
Restarting the devices does not solve the issue.
Restarting the router solves the issue (until it happens again...)
My router is version 1.0, with 1.0.04 firmware.
I read an earlier posting about an issue between SPI on the latest WRT610N Version 1.0 firmware and a user's Apple TV. This pointed me to a "solution" to a perplexing problem I was having.
I have 4 machines, 3 connected via WiFi and 1 on one of the wired ethernet ports. I also have 2 Apple Airport Express units for audio streaming as well as 2 iPhones connected wirelessly.
Now for the symptoms, which are all new since updating to firmware ver.1.00.03.15:
1. The WiFi machines see the Airport Express units and can stream audio to them. However, the iPhone Remote app has trouble staying connected to iTunes running on any of these machines. A router reboot is a temporary fix, but connection is eventually lost again.
2. The wired machine cannot see the Airport Express units, nor can the Remote app pair with iTunes on that machine. It's as though no Bonjour-related functions work. Here, a router reboot also provides a temporary fix, but one that lasts only minutes.
Based on that prior post, I disabled SPI on the router and, lo and behold, the wired machine suddenly sees all Airport Express units and can pair with the iPhone Remote app!
I was going crazy, verifying that I was not having Windows Firewall issues, that there wasn't an incompatibility with Windows 7 (which I'm running on all), that this wasn't a Homegroup incompatibility of some sort, that Bonjour was up to date, etc. Only turning off SPI fixed the problem entirely.
So, Linksys ...Any firmware bug fix in the works for this? Can I safely go back to the prior firmware update without security or function concerns? If so, where can I get my hands on the older firmware file?
WRT610N Version 1.0 running 1.00.03.15
I have an issue when I use Airplay through my iPhone4S, my router reboots after 30 secs or so. I have a WRT54G2 v1.5 and the receiver is a Pioneer VSX-1021-K.
However, when I used Airplay through itunes from my laptop, it works just fine. In addition, when I borrowed my neighbors router's(BELKIN) it was working fine also. So this lead me to believe that it's my router that is causing the issue.
After some time of usage (typically days), I notice that Bonjour networking degrades. That is, the various Apple computers on my network can no longer see each other via Apple's Bonjour protocol. They can still connect directly using IP addresses however. The only solution seems to be a reset of the router. Are there some detailed logs I can look into to determine what the problem may be? The logs shown in the web interface don't seem detailed enough.

I have apple TV connected directly with the bridge router on one of the Ethernet port.I notice that when you start apple Airplay mirroring on the iPad2 both the routers will hangs with no reason and the only way to fix it is to reboot the routers. View 9 Replies View RelatedCan the WRT110 forward Bonjour packets? I have one WRT110 running my home wifi network with firmware version 1.0.07. I've spent hours trying to get my iPad to print to a wireless printer (HP D110a). I can print and scan from several wireless PC's on the same network but cannot see the HP printer. I started with the WEP 128-bit and then switched to WPA for a while but no luck so I switched back to WEP. I've read that other's have had similar problems with this and other Linksys routers.
From the iPad point of view I have iOS version 4.3.3. When I try to Airprint, for example through the Safari web browser, I see no printers available. I've tried many apps all with the same problem.
I've just confirmed that everytime I try to stream music from my MacBook Pro (iTunes) that is connected to my WiFi network using the 5GHz mode (channel width is Auto, channel: Auto (DFS)) to a couple Airport Express cubes are connected via the 2.4 GHz WiFi (channel width: Auto, channel: 10) the E4200 router reboots. When I set the MBP to use the 2.4 GHz mode I can stream music without causing the E4200 to reboot. The E4200 is running firmware 1.0.03.

I have tried everything I can think of, including disabling all antivirus software, removing wireless network and allowing auto reinstall, obtaining DNS servers automatically, etc. I have checked the IP addresses with Linksys support and all indicators suggest that it should connect. My laptop does connect perfectly well when directly connected to the router via ethernet cable. Plus my iMac connects wirelessly to the router. I run XP sp 3 on the laptop. The wireless adapter is an Atheros AR5007EG, driver version 7.6.0.239.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy WAG120N wireless router disconnects every hour, precisely at the same time. This problem has started a few days ago, until then everything was fine. When the connection is gone, the "Internet" light goes off, the other lights remain on. For example, it disconnects at 07:30. It takes a minute or two to reconnect. Then it disconnects at 08:31. It reconnects, and then disconnects at 09:32.. and so on.Here are the things that I have tried (with my limited knowledge.. I'm not good with technology):- Turned the power on/off. No matter what time I do this at, the router disconnects at the same time again. For example, if it last disconnected at 07:30, and I turn it off and on at 7:50, it still disconnects at 08:31.- I tried resetting it, by pushing and holding the reset button on the back for 30-60 seconds (did it several times). Reconfigured the router (manually, not from a backup config file). Same situation as above, disconnects at the same time as always.
- I upgraded the IOS to v1.00.16, which I found here: [URL] reset and then reconfigured again. Still it didn't work.- Looked in the configuration pages for any values that resemble a 60 minute time span, and changed them. Only thing I found was the security key renewal period. Or was I sold a faulty product?
I have my internet coming into my WAG120N and going out wirelessly. I want to setup a wireless bridge between this and an E1500, so I can connect my TV to the E1500 (via an ethernet cable) and have it access the internet. Unfortunatly I can run a cable from the WAG120N to where the TV is. So it I can get the E1500 wirelessly bridged to the WAG120N? I have updated the firmware ont he E1500 to get Bridging support, but from what I can tell it only provides bridging via an ethernet cable. Is there away to bridge wirelessly?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using it since approx 6months ago. Previously it was working well except for some major signal issues. However, 3 days ago it decided to go haywire. 1) It does not connect to the internet 2) It does not detect/connect to the computer when LAN cable is plugged in (does not load in 192.168.1.1) 3) I have tried resetting the router many times and even holding the reset button for 30 secs and switching off and switching on but to no avail. 4) I have had a linksys live chat with Johnel and he determined that it may be a possible hardware problem 5) Current Status of the Router: It makes no attempt to establish any connection/load whenever turned on, as seen when no lights are blinking when switched on. Upon switching on, Power Light becomes Red and Internet Light becomes Red and the middle Refresh Button become Red. 6) I have tried installing the driver for the router but there is no way I can install the driver because the computer does not detect that the router is connected What can I do about these? 1) Can I get a replacement of a different model? This router has been giving me problems since Day 1 2) I am seriously considering switching my service provider from M1 to Starhub.
