My wireless internet company recently installed a Belkin N600 router. I had a Linksys G router with a Linksys Booster in the past. The design of my house makes my signal difficult to get in multiple locations which is the reason i had the booster. My question... Is the linksys booster compatible with the belkin router or am I going to have to by a belkin booster to increase my coverage area

I am in the process of upgrading my home broadband from ADSL to ADSL2+ which, in theory will increase my download speed from approx 5mbps to 17mbps. I have been offered a free Thomson (Technicolor TG582n Pro) router. This will involve reconfiguring the current set up with all the devices currently connected to my network. Not a big deal but will there be any benefit over my existing Belkin set up?

Purchased about 1 year ago. I was told that Belkin designs it this way so we have to buy a new one regularly. But 1 year!!! That is terrible. Is it true? Is this older router no good? Downstairs I have an older Dell PC that I use for my business. I have an Ethernet run from upstairs to downstairs. The Ethernet jack upstairs is near a cable outlet because we used to have cable internet. Now we have DSL and the phone jack is on the other side of the room. Here's my question... I have a Belkin N600 wireless router, is there any way I can plug it into the Ethernet port on the other side of the room, and use it like a wireless adapter? I have tried a few time to set it up as an "access point" but it doesn't seem to work. As soon as I do, I can no longer access the Belkin router to make any changes and I need to do a manual reset. can I plug my downstairs PC into the Belkin N600, and have wi-fi internet access from the wireless modem/router upstairs?

Under the Belkin desktop I can clearly see 2 SSID's. One shows 2.4 GHz SSID & network name and the other 5GHz SSID & network name. media. I have unplugged the router and modem several times and that does not work. When I check the various wireless systems available (on the TV screen) I see mine there but it will not connect. View 1 Replies View RelatedA N600 Router Model F9J1102v1 router first installed in July 2012 with WPA-PSK, MAC Address Filtering and "Self Healing" enabled would not allow a new PC to connect via an RJ45 port. Belkin support ask for the unit to be reset to factory settings which is done and the Security system re-enabled again. Valid MAC Addresses start to be added and midway a PC is discovered in the Network without its MAC address added. Closer scrutiny reveals that another unknown device has also found a way into the router and that the 'Block' option on the MAC list is also failing to work. Anyone think of what one should do with this security shambles other than turn the thing off quick?

I unplugged the router to reset it and whenever it starts up it flashes green and the green light goes solid for less then a minute before turning red. It's a solid red light. I've tried unplugging everything and restarting it and nothing. Ironically it still lets me connect to the internet but when I access the control panel on my computer it shows as disconnected. Is this means my router is busted. This is my second Belkin Router and the only reason I had to replace the last one is because it was a G+Mimi router and I upgraded to an N Router.

View 3 Replies View RelatedPlay Max N600 HD (F7D4301) Dual network operation - on behind Belkins firewall. I have just changed the structure of my network for reasons of additional services being added. I now have in the front room the ADSL modem connected to a switch and 2 PC's. The switch is also pbugged into an ethernet plug in the wall which feeds to the other end of the house where the Belkin router is. I have all devices working on the internet correctly. The issue is getting access between the two networks and the devices on the two networks. I have added the ip addresses of the PC's to the router's LAN/Static Route, but that didn't work. The network in front room (after ADSL Modem is 192.168.1.x and after Belkin router it is 192.168.2.x. Is there a way I can allow access between the two networks between devices?
