Linksys Wireless Adapters :: WUSB54GC - Way To Installing And Loading The Driver
Aug 11, 2010
I have my brand new WUSB54GC and I can't install it. My operating system is Windows Me and every program on the CD accompanying my new adapter tells me "This version of Windows won't work" or words to that effect. My machine realizes something is there--indeed it knows there is a Linksys wireless adapter and even tells me it was manufactured by Cisco Co.--but it says NDIS cannot load the driver. Do I need a different driver?
All of the other threads on this forum have expired links to the driver. Where can I find it? I've looked for hours & the cisco website offers nothing for Windows XP for WUSB54GC Version 3
I recently installed this adapter, and it's connected to a wireless-N router right now (WRT102N), the problem I'm having is it's not sending out internet connection once I boot up the next day. It'll work once I click reconnect to connect to the network again, but still, I don't think it should be doing that.
I had installed the wusb54gc wireless adapter on my desktop and I have not used the computer in a year. When I tried to connect to the internet I couldn't. the adapter was in the network, now it is not. Now all I get is unknown device. I downloaded the drivers from Linksys removed the unknown device from the usb listing and used the utility to unstall the adapter drivers. Followed the instruction to install new drivers but after restarting the computer the only thing that is there is the unknown device. On this computer the OS is Me.
I need to download XP drivers for my WUSB54GC ver3 Wireless Adapter. I have lost the CD (or can't find it at least) and on the site there seem to be only Vista/windows 7 drivers for the version 3. Will downloading the version 2 XP drivers do? Or should I do something else?
I am having problems installing this with the cd that was given, so I went on the site to DL the drivers, i downloaded the zip file, but when i open it there is no setup.exe. Do i need to exract the contents to a certain file?
I have been having trouble lately getting a desktop pc that formally worked to now access the internet. I deleted the drivers and re-installed them and now it is saying it cannot renew the IP address. how to get this connected again? When I look at the hardware under device manager it says it is working properly. When I downloaded the driver again it did ask if I needed ver1 or version 3 Since my device has no version on it I chose version one.I also have a new N Rangeplus Linksys router because I thought maybe I was having router problems but that isn't it. This router is a Linksys G router and all the devices will work with it accept the one with this wireless card., I do want to change to the N router eventually.
Using a WUSB54GC that's installed on a PC and then used in a DVD recorder. So the installation procedure takes place on the PC.After installation WUSB54GC is disconnected and placed in DVD - recorder. I want my DVD recorder on my home network in order to be able to burn movies.
i just got a new computer and just got windows 7 for it. I was installing my wireless adapter when the error 211 came up. I saw on your website how to manualy install it but i cant do the first step which is: Search and download Windows 7 driver for your Adapter. I cant do this because i cant get on the internet on that computer without a wireless adapter because it is to far away from my routor. What can I do?
Whenever I try to install the drivers for the adapter normally, Windows 7x64 gives me a message that the device name "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter" already exists and is in use, preventing me from installing the wireless driver properly. In order to get around it, I changed all "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter" fields into "Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter B" in the netr28ux.inf file to make the driver install under a different name.I tried everything I can to remove all evidence of linksys drivers from my computer, uninstalling and removing driverstore with pnputil.exe, but I cannot seem to find the originating files to uninstall. For now the way I edited the netr28ux.inf file works, but I'd rather be able to install the driver as intended.
So I bought the WUSB54GC wireless adapter today. My computer's OS is Windows XP Professional. Whenever I load the disk and click "Start Setup" a window pops up that says "This version of Windows in not supported."
I've just bought this wireless usb today and attempted 2-3 times to be able to connect with my router (D-Link's DIR-601) but it for some reason failed to do so, until the little usb didn't have its green light flashing anymore... and when i reconnected it to my Windows XP it rang its error sound... and I kept having this message from the Wireless Wizard that it's not connected appropriately or something...and that i have to run the setup wizard again.
I have a Linksys wusb54gc, after downloading driver and install, system performance changed. Tried several fixes suggested at another site which failed Cannot delete (access denied) Trying to remove through control panel error "critical file missing" win xp os. Would like for this to work as it had on the computer it was originally purchased for. "gina.dll" interferes with the os.
I would like to use my WUSB54GC ver2 adapter with a WIN7 ultimate 64-bit PC. Do I have any chance to use it on this computer? Linksys' website says that only ver3 adapters can use the WIN7 driver.
I have installed manually drivers for wusb54gc v3, but the wireless manager still write error 211. I do see the adapter in device manager and it's writen than it's working, bat still the manager doesn't work and ican't see any net. OS Win7 32bit.
I want to use this adapter on a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OS.Downloads lists versions V1.0 and V3.0 for this adapter. How can I determine the version I have?V1.0 list no driver for Win 7 64bit. V3.0 list a driver for Win 7 64bit.Research I found looks like the adapter is not computable with Win 7 64bit.
I have tried running all versions of the setup program that came with the adapter. Even when I ran the compatibility program I still get error 211 adapter not recognized. When I looked in the device manager the adapter is listed but with problems. Under properties it shows windows cannot load the drivers required for this device error 31. I also tried updating the drivers from the device manager using the ones I downloaded directly from linksys website. The ones for the 64 bit windows 7?
I have had an issue with my AE2500 wireless adapter. I am using a LInksys E2500 dual band router but my samsung laptop's wireless adapter doesn't support 5ghz band, so bought the AE2500.I disabled the internal adapter and got the AE2500 connected up. I've set up the 5ghz channel with wireless N, and left 2.5ghz as it was. Somehow I am now experiencing slower speeds on both bands, when using speedtest.net's speed test. It's the 2nd time in my life I am having an issue like this, where I am adding something with capacity for more speed but end up things being worse. Previous was with a netgear adapter and router a few years ago. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I honestly don't think so.Also best sequence to get the new adapter connected? Should I do it before I disable the existing adapter?
I just bought a WMP600N adaptor and although windows 7 recognizes it I would like to install the official drivers from Linksys. When I try to update the drivers that I downloaded from the linksys website I het an access denied error. I am logged in as the administrator. I have already tried uninstalling the default drivers, but still I get the access denied error. I even tried the windows safe mode and still got the access denied error.
With the default windows 7 drivers the connection is quite poor. how I can install the official windows 7 drivers?
After installing a WMMP600N on an HP Pro 3410 (BIOS 7.04) the computer "freezes" after booting or doesn't boot at all. On the other hand, installing the same board on an HP (Compaq) DX2390 (BIOS 5.3) doesn't cause any problem: both the machine and the board work nicely together. Both machines run on Windows 7 Ultimate, with the latest driver from Linksys.
Where can i find driver for WPC54G ver.4 (FOUR). I looked for on official site, and there are drivers only for ver. 1, 2, 3, 3.1, 5, and 7! Where can i find drivers for ver.4?
