just got a new hard drive and need to download a driver for my wifi air card. i've been to the download web site, but can't figure out which one to download. i've got an OLD Inspiron 1150. how do i find the correct driver to download?

I searched every CD that came with the darn thing and I still cant find the driver I need... In the device manager the " Network Controller ", has a question mark by it meaning it doesnt have the driver installed
View 5 Replies View RelatedHere's my internet connection: modem to router (via ethernet), router to desktop (via ethernet). I should have a LAN connection. However, my desktop is on a wireless connection. Diving in further, I notice I do not even have a LAN connection available on the "Change Adapter Settings" screen (see attached photo).
How can I get my LAN connection back? I have tried to download different drivers, but to no avail.
If it matters, I have a Dell XPS 8300 desktop.
I just formatted my hard drive and installed Windows XP from scratch. I have a Dimension E310. When I looked at the Device driver menu I saw that I didn't have an Ethernet Driver installed. I have looked all over Dells site for the correct one but, can't seem to find it on the list for my Service Tag model. Possibly I don't recognize the drivers terminology as far as the list is concerned?
I have the original Dell Resource instalation disks with various drivers on them but, I can't seem to work out how to use them.
So my grandpas Dell insperon 6000 crashed and now he cant connect threw a wired connection but he can connect threw a wireless it says the drivers missing i tryed to just reinstall but windows couldnt find it and now idk how to get it to install and also the video controller and vga whatever them are also are missing im not worried about them but i would like the wired connection to work

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently reinstalled windows 7 on my dad laptop after he <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU> it up beyond repair. After installing the appropriate drivers I still had no detection on my w lan adapter so I checked out the device list, and it says I'm missing drivers for two things: one is the network controller, the other is just listed as an unknown device.
I already installed every driver for the appropriate devices on the laptop, in the correct order, or as i could best manage it, but still no dice. The only network driver on the disk for my inspiron is one for an Ethernet controller.

So I entered the express service tag and found a recent driver which says it supports WPA. I downloaded it, installed it, and it does allow me to enter WPA-PSK mode and allows me to input the key but it will not connect. I spend almost two hours on the phone with a Dell Wireless Support Agent, who finally tried to convince me that 802.11b does not support WPA. (ACK---_) When I asked why my service tag, input on the support page, takes me to a network driver for the TM 1150, which states the reason for the driver update is (Support of WPA in Windows XP), she placed me on silent hold, then elevated volume music hold, then transferred me to General Hardware support.... How to be successful in utilizing the True Mobile 1150 (aka Orinoco) and WPA.

I recently tried to uninstall some of my USB ports to resolve a problem I was having with my iPod... but in the process it seems tohave knocked out my internet connection. In Device Manager under Network Adapters, it shows two devices --
1. Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network connection
2. USB 10/100 LANThe Intel device seems to be working, but the USB LAN has a warning exclamation through it.. and it says the drivers are not installed. How do I get these drivers? All links I find are for the Intel product.. if I downloaded this, would it correct the missing drivers on the USB LAN device?

It too is missing the network controller, I can access web through wireless usb but not though cable or wireless. I have the disc but I can't install from it as I get message saying it is outdated. I checked for problems and found out it was missing the wireless network controllers driver. I tried connecting it with a normal network cable and it recognized it but still couldn't reach the internet. I found the origional Inspiron 6000 drivers in the drivers section of the dell support website but I am unsure if they would work with a Windows 7 OS.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhenever I plug in an ethernet cord into the integrated ethernet port in my laptop, I do not get a connection and the "Local Area Connection" icon doesn't show up in the Network and Sharing Center or the Device Manager. When I do plug it in, the "Local Area Connection" icon shows up for a second saying it's unplugged and disappears. I have tried different ethernet cables as well as an ethernet adapter (which does show up in the Network and Sharing Center, but I still don't get a connection).
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron N2010, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and my ethernet port "RealTek PCIe GBE Family Controller".
I recently had to re-install Windows 7 on my Inspiron laptop, no problem did that easily, put in my CD and done.
But when it had finished, I realised I couldn't connect to the Internet, so I got my old laptop, entered in my service tag, and downloaded the 3 network drivers listed. Stuck them on a USB stick, copied them onto the newly restored laptop, installed them, restarted. And it still wasn't working, to my dismay.
I have a Dell Inspiron 14z 5423 ultrabook.
I only need to connect to the Internet, I can let the online thing do the rest, I just need to connect to the Internet to do so.
