So my grandpas Dell insperon 6000 crashed and now he cant connect threw a wired connection but he can connect threw a wireless it says the drivers missing i tryed to just reinstall but windows couldnt find it and now idk how to get it to install and also the video controller and vga whatever them are also are missing im not worried about them but i would like the wired connection to work

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently reinstalled windows 7 on my dad laptop after he <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU> it up beyond repair. After installing the appropriate drivers I still had no detection on my w lan adapter so I checked out the device list, and it says I'm missing drivers for two things: one is the network controller, the other is just listed as an unknown device.
I already installed every driver for the appropriate devices on the laptop, in the correct order, or as i could best manage it, but still no dice. The only network driver on the disk for my inspiron is one for an Ethernet controller.
I recently sent in my Inspiron M5040 laptop in to get repaired because it got severely water damaged and when i got it back i culdnt connect to the internet wirelessly so i tried pluggin in my ethernet cable an that wouldnt work either so i played around with my computer a little bit and saw that my ethernet and network controller drivers weren properly installed. How do i get those two drivers with no internet connect? Is there any way i can get a disk mailed to me with all of the up to date drivers i ned or do i need to ship my laptop back in to dell?

I checked for problems and found out it was missing the wireless network controllers driver. I tried connecting it with a normal network cable and it recognized it but still couldn't reach the internet. I found the origional Inspiron 6000 drivers in the drivers section of the dell support website but I am unsure if they would work with a Windows 7 OS.

So, like any normal and quite capable PC user, I went to the Dell site and entered the Service Tag. So far so good. However, no driver to be found for my Wireless component. Believe me, I attempted to install ALL Communication and Network drivers available. The message I got in the wizard was always "Installation not possible. Please contact your administrator". I tried to phone, got stuck in a waiting line for 11 minutes 35 seconds, which I mentioned before ripped me off for €10 and then the line went dead. All mails have been so far left unanswered. Angry doesn't come close.
Without telling me to go to Microsoft or Dell or any other obscure website which then leads me back to Dell, where I can get the proper WiFi (WLAN for you modern machine users..) Network controller driver for my notebook, which is a Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook.
Made a big mistake - Installed 64 bit Win7 professional on new HP that had 64 bit Win7 Home premium on it. Computer was a gift, bought as the last one available and was a demo model from Sam's club. Had no idea the ethernet card driver and the wireless software drivers would be lost, but they were, as was the driver for the USB hub. I just formatted my hard drive and installed Windows XP from scratch. I have a Dimension E310. When I looked at the Device driver menu I saw that I didn't have an Ethernet Driver installed. Whenever I plug in an ethernet cord into the integrated ethernet port in my laptop, I do not get a connection and the "Local Area Connection" icon doesn't show up in the Network and Sharing Center or the Device Manager. When I do plug it in, the "Local Area Connection" icon shows up for a second saying it's unplugged and disappears. I have tried different ethernet cables as well as an ethernet adapter (which does show up in the Network and Sharing Center, but I still don't get a connection).
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron N2010, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and my ethernet port "RealTek PCIe GBE Family Controller".

The Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller driver (I've tried both the download and CD) works fine for the Card itself, but it doesn't work for the Network Controller. When I first restart after running the installation program included with the driver, XP tells me that a new Network Controller device has been found. As I go through the driver installation for that device it fails, and I receive a message telling me that the Hardware Update Wizard "Cannot Install this Hardware...The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." The device then appears in the Device Manager under the Other Devices section with a yellow question mark and exclamation point indicating trouble.

I also installed a new wireless card which still did not solve my problem. As I said, this is a Dell Inspiron N5030. Operating system is Windows 7 32-bit The network adapter is an Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller.In the Device Manager the Network Controller is listed under "Other Devices" The new wireless card installed is listed as a DNXA-95-D1. That is really the only information I can give you about this card.
Side note: I can get on the internet if I hard wire in, just can't access internet wirelessly.
I can't find the driver for the Network Controller on a Inspiron 1150, I just did a clean installation of WinXP, I used the Dell CD-ROM that came with the piece... I searched every CD that came with the darn thing and I still cant find the driver I need... View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed a fresh Windows XP Pro on my Optiplex gx270 last week. Everything was fine but now I cannot get an internet connection. I followed all the steps on the dell support web site for the windows reinstall, putting all the drivers on in the correct order, all from my original resource CD. Then downloaded the new recommended driver for my service tag from the dell site, and still no ethernet controller driver is found (a yellow question mark with an exclamation mark on top in windows device manager). Tried a couple of times with the dell online chat, but was disconnected right away. Then spent another 1+ hour on the phone with dell tech support this morning. After uninstalling and reinstalling the same drivers I had previously installed, they apparently had no other suggestions and disconnected me. So I'm left with what was a pretty decent machine that is incapable of connecting to the internet.

There doesn't seem to be a driver on the PC for it, although this may be dowon to the PC having a slight "accident" a few months ago which meant we had to reinstall XP. I don't have the utiliites disc, this wasn't a problem previously as we were able to connect our PC up via USB to the modem.
I have an old PC currently connected to the Internet trying to download the drivers from Dell's support section & tranferring these but this isn't working either.
I recently purchase a refurbished Optiplex GX620 with WXP Professional OS. The ethernet controller, along with number of devices, needs a driver. I have downloaded what I think are the approprite files but get the message that the unzipped file is part of a series of disks and I need to insert the last of this series of disks. The service tag returns a desk-top, and not many drivers. What was listed/installed was incorrect. The unit got stuck on stupid, display reverted back to 400x600, speed problems as well as many other problems. Unit is very slow now however somewhat usable. .Recovery disk would be nice. Currently utilizing external Wifi hardware and software. Have same problem w/ other Dell units.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computers inability to connect to the internet. It is a 2006 Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 1370 WLAN card. I just moved into a new house and was able to connect to my roommates wireless connection with no problem. Then a couple weeks ago we both lost our ability to connect. When we disconnected the router and modum and then reconnected she was able to get on the internet again. I was unable to. A computer savvy friend came over and through some finagling was able to get my connection going again. I might try cleaning my computer up and putting stuff onto an external hard drive. Since then I have tried some different stuff I have seen on the internet, such as ipconfig to no avail, tried repairing the connections doesn't do anything.
