Dell :: Inspiron 6000 Notebook Wireless Driver Not Found Anywhere

Mar 30, 2010

I have a used Inspiron 6000 and obviously the recovery CD doesn't contain the driver for my WiFi.

So, like any normal and quite capable PC user, I went to the Dell site and entered the Service Tag. So far so good. However, no driver to be found for my Wireless component. Believe me, I attempted to install ALL Communication and Network drivers available. The message I got in the wizard was always "Installation not possible. Please contact your administrator". I tried to phone, got stuck in a waiting line for 11 minutes 35 seconds, which I mentioned before ripped me off for €10 and then the line went dead. All mails have been so far left unanswered. Angry doesn't come close.

Without telling me to go to Microsoft or Dell or any other obscure website which then leads me back to Dell, where I can get the proper WiFi (WLAN for you modern machine users..) Network controller driver for my notebook, which is a Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook.

After installing the Windows 7 beta on my Dell Inspiron 6000, the wireless adapter was not found by Windows so the only way to connect to the network is through Ethernet. The adapter is the Intel Pro/wireless 2200bg.  I've tried the latest driver from Dell with no success.

Dell Inspiron 6000 Intermittently Connecting To Wireless

Jan 13, 2011

I've been having a few problems keeping my laptop connected to any wireless network I use. It'll connect fine and work for a while and then it'll stop loading or refreshing pages. If I got to network connections and hit 'disable' and then 'enable' it'll connect fine again and run for a little longer but it's really beginning to get frustrating having to do this every 5 minutes.

Dell :: Wireless Network Not Shown Inspiron 6000

Jan 31, 2012

I have a recently-purchased Inspiron 6000 running Windows 7.  I have set up a home wireless network on a wireless router (D-Link) but it does not show up under wireless network connections (others in the neighbourhood do).  It does appear however under "Manage My Connections", where it is listed correctly to automatically connect.  The SSID is not hidden.   Network adapters in the Dell are all reported as working normally, and the drivers are also reportedly up to date.  Wireless networking is switched on.

I just moved to a new house so I deleted all old networks and tried to connect to the new wifi, which works on my roomates laptop and on my iPhone. I click connect and it says waiting for connection and then prompts me with "windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Dell :: Inspiron 6000 Non Stop Authenticating

Mar 15, 2012

My computers inability to connect to the internet.  It is a 2006 Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 1370 WLAN  card.  I just moved into a new house and was able to connect to my roommates wireless connection with no problem.  Then a couple weeks ago we both lost our ability to connect.  When we disconnected the router and modum and then reconnected she was able to get on the internet again.  I was unable to.  A computer savvy friend came over and through some finagling was able to get my connection going again. I might try cleaning my computer up and putting stuff onto an external hard drive.  Since then I have tried some different stuff I have seen on the internet, such as ipconfig to no avail, tried repairing the connections doesn't do anything.

Dell :: OS Update And Missing Drivers - Inspiron 6000

Sep 22, 2012

I received a refurbished Dell Inspiron 6000 as a gift. The computer was originally XP but was updated to Windows 7. When I tried to connect to a network, I couldn't. I checked for problems and found out it was missing the wireless network controllers driver. I tried connecting it with a normal network cable and it recognized it but still couldn't reach the internet. I found the origional Inspiron 6000 drivers in the drivers section of the dell support website but I am unsure if they would work with a Windows 7 OS.

The 6000 shows that I have a connection (with strong signal)  but it won't connect to the internet anymore. (The M1210 still works fine - connects to internet.) I went back to several restore points on the 6000 but it didn't work. Rebooted and check everything I could think of but didn't resolve problem.

Whilst internet connection  has since been restored I've noticed that there are now orange lights above the port where the ethernet cable connected to on our notebook. If the modem has blown, how much are they usually to replace and is it relatively easy? I have a Inspiron 1525 Notebook.

Dell :: Inspiron N5050 / Which Driver For Wireless Card

Oct 14, 2012

Inspiron N5050.Fresh install Win 7 sp1 home premium.I have the Dell drivers disc.when I go through the list of drivers to install, there is one listed for the wireless card for this computer, but it does not have the 'tick' which says the device has been detected.i try to install that driver anyway and I am asked to "Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless Switch". I went here [URL] and then did a search for DW1702, which is the card listed on my customer invoice. From that search I am taken here [URL] which lists 3 kinds of drivers: A01, A02 and A03. I have tried all three. A01 and A03 give up quite quickly. With the A02 the InstallShield Wizard starts up and most of the installation seems to take place and then it gives up. Windows tells me the driver was not installed properly.Whenever there is a problem over drivers, Dell tells us to install the Notebook System Software. There is no NSS on my drivers disc. (It does not come up on the list of drivers to install when the disc is first inserted and is not listed under 'System Utilities'.)  Since I can't connect to the internet without at least an ethernet driver installed, how am I supposed to install the NSS first? In any case when I enter my service tag on here or do a search for the N5050, I am given 11 filtered results and 33 'all related drivers' but no NSS.I was charged extra for the drivers disc and it doesn't have what I want. The laptop without a wireless card is useless to me.
