View 6 RepliesAfter installing the Windows 7 beta on my Dell Inspiron 6000, the wireless adapter was not found by Windows so the only way to connect to the network is through Ethernet. The adapter is the Intel Pro/wireless 2200bg. I've tried the latest driver from Dell with no success.

I have looked at several posts and tried them but nothing has worked so far. I unplugged the router and reset. I know I am missing something. I unplugged cable and ran an ipconfig /all and saved to a disk.

View 19 Replies View Related have an Inspiron N5030 (Model 5030-8277) which says it runs Windows 7 as a 64 bit OS. When I looked in the System Properties it confirmed it was a 64 bit OS.
However, upon trying to load the Windows 8 Consumer Preview (through VM Ware 8 - which has worked on my other 64 bit system so its not the file which is corrupt or the wrong VM Ware) the OS doesn't load in the virtual machine due to my system apparently being 32-bit and therefore incompatible with a 64-bit .iso file...
I have updated my BIOS to the most recent version available for my model.
So am I actually running on 64-bit or do I need to download specific drivers?
It appears that the 1395 WLAN mini-card on my computer does not support 802.11n wifi. Although the file implies that some 1395 cards may have 1500/1505 draft 802.11n capabilities. When looking at the driver details, it does not have any options or settings for 802.11n. Confusing. Since my computer is a number of years old, it may be that the wifi card is pre-cards with the 1500/1505 draft 802.11n capability.
My question is there an update driver for the 1395 mini-card that would allow the card to access my 802.11n router?
Is there a newer or compatible wifi card for the Inspirion 1525 (dell or otherwise) that can replace the 1395 mini-card so that I take advantage of my 802.11n router (Netgear N600 Dual Band Router) higher speed capabilities?
My computer is a Dell inspiron 6000. It's old and slow but has never had any trouble connecting to the Internet until now. I just moved to a new house so I deleted all old networks and tried to connect to the new wifi, which works on my roomates laptop and on my iPhone. I click connect and it says waiting for connection and then prompts me with "windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. " but tjis network is at full strength and at the top of my networks in range list.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computers inability to connect to the internet. It is a 2006 Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 1370 WLAN card. I just moved into a new house and was able to connect to my roommates wireless connection with no problem. Then a couple weeks ago we both lost our ability to connect. When we disconnected the router and modum and then reconnected she was able to get on the internet again. I was unable to. A computer savvy friend came over and through some finagling was able to get my connection going again. I might try cleaning my computer up and putting stuff onto an external hard drive. Since then I have tried some different stuff I have seen on the internet, such as ipconfig to no avail, tried repairing the connections doesn't do anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently reinstalled Windows XP Professional onto my Dell Inspiron 6000 again. And I try to connect to my home wifi and i get a message saying "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. refresh the list of available networks, and try to connect again." I refresh the networks and it still shows the network ive been trying to connect to then i retry and same message pops up. I can connect to other networks fine but not my home wifi. My wifi router is a Netgear N600 Dual Band Router.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been having a few problems keeping my laptop connected to any wireless network I use. It'll connect fine and work for a while and then it'll stop loading or refreshing pages. If I got to network connections and hit 'disable' and then 'enable' it'll connect fine again and run for a little longer but it's really beginning to get frustrating having to do this every 5 minutes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI received a refurbished Dell Inspiron 6000 as a gift. The computer was originally XP but was updated to Windows 7. When I tried to connect to a network, I couldn't. I checked for problems and found out it was missing the wireless network controllers driver. I tried connecting it with a normal network cable and it recognized it but still couldn't reach the internet. I found the origional Inspiron 6000 drivers in the drivers section of the dell support website but I am unsure if they would work with a Windows 7 OS.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron 6000 (inherited from my kids). It worked great for a while, at home or on the road whenever I needed to connect to the internet via a wi-fi hotspot, until recently. I can still connect at home (wireless) automatically, but outside of the house, I can't get any wireless connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a recently-purchased Inspiron 6000 running Windows 7. I have set up a home wireless network on a wireless router (D-Link) but it does not show up under wireless network connections (others in the neighbourhood do). It does appear however under "Manage My Connections", where it is listed correctly to automatically connect. The SSID is not hidden. Network adapters in the Dell are all reported as working normally, and the drivers are also reportedly up to date. Wireless networking is switched on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave Dell Inspiron 6000 (XP SP3) and Dell XPS M1210 (Vista). Both were working fine through my home network WiFi. Now only the M1210 is working. The 6000 shows that I have a connection (with strong signal) but it won't connect to the internet anymore. (The M1210 still works fine - connects to internet.) I went back to several restore points on the 6000 but it didn't work. Rebooted and check everything I could think of but didn't resolve problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a used Inspiron 6000 and obviously the recovery CD doesn't contain the driver for my WiFi.
So, like any normal and quite capable PC user, I went to the Dell site and entered the Service Tag. So far so good. However, no driver to be found for my Wireless component. Believe me, I attempted to install ALL Communication and Network drivers available. The message I got in the wizard was always "Installation not possible. Please contact your administrator". I tried to phone, got stuck in a waiting line for 11 minutes 35 seconds, which I mentioned before ripped me off for €10 and then the line went dead. All mails have been so far left unanswered. Angry doesn't come close.
Without telling me to go to Microsoft or Dell or any other obscure website which then leads me back to Dell, where I can get the proper WiFi (WLAN for you modern machine users..) Network controller driver for my notebook, which is a Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have just got our daughter a brand new Dell laptop for her birthday, it is fine apart from she cant get into half the websites she wants to. On these websites internet explorer just hangs.
Examples of hanging websites are:Argos, Travel Republic, Easy Jet, Vue Cinemas, Bin weevils, National Rail, Expedia, Ebookers
The laptop has Windows 7 and Internet Exolorer 9.I suspect it is something to do with the dreaded Flash but the laptop has Adobe Shockwave Flash Object enabled and any attempt to download Adobe Flash Player results in a 12% timeout download (always 12%)
Funnily enough I have an old Dimension 5000 which behaves in exactly the same way including the 12% download but I expected a brand new laptop to work..Is this a known bug with Dell products ie. you cant access half the websites on the internet without a load of grief ?
I'm using Dell Inspiron 1525. i just reformatted it because of some hard disc's problems. the first night after it is repaired, everything is okay. the internet is fast. but the next day, the internet is just running really slow, i dont even think i have loaded a complete page for the past 3 days, let alone downloading stuff.
well, i've tried most of the solutions i found online like turning off IPV6 and something else but the internet is still slow. and im using a ADSL modem, not a wireless one. the internet works just fine with other laptops. i called my technichian and asked. he said its the matter about laptop brands. every laptop has different.. i dont understand what he's talking about. so..
i used to have slow internet connection before reformatting but i thought its cause by my overloaded laptop memory, but now that it's reformatted i hardly have any software in it so what can i do?
I have a Dell Inspiron 530s desktop running Vista SP2. When I attempt to get online using a cable or a wireless USB adapter I get a self-assigned IP Address. When I manually add an IP and DNS addresses I can't get online also. I have removed my security software (webroot) and have disabled Windows Firewall. The same ethernet connection works on another one of my computers fine.

I am trying to transfer photos from my Nokia phone. The phone cannot find the laptop. If I slide the button next to the CD drawer I get visibility of Wireless, or accidently turn it off (!).Under Dell drivers I can see WIDCOMM, R14035 & R159805.If I type BTTray.exe, it takes me there but double clicking it does nothing. Ditto if I run R159805twon.
I was online then all of a sudden i got disconnected and now it won't show any network available. My other laptop and xboxes are online just fine, so I know then it's an issue with my one laptop. But I don't know how to fix it. No networks are found at all and internet only works when it's wired. I have a HP laptop running windows 7.How do I get my network to show up so I can have wirless internet again? Someone thought maybe new drivers but no clue what I really need to download. I only know basics of computer stuff.
