Dell :: Is Inspiron N5030 Actually Running Windows 7 64-bit
Apr 12, 2012
have an Inspiron N5030 (Model 5030-8277) which says it runs Windows 7 as a 64 bit OS. When I looked in the System Properties it confirmed it was a 64 bit OS.
However, upon trying to load the Windows 8 Consumer Preview (through VM Ware 8 - which has worked on my other 64 bit system so its not the file which is corrupt or the wrong VM Ware) the OS doesn't load in the virtual machine due to my system apparently being 32-bit and therefore incompatible with a 64-bit .iso file...
I have updated my BIOS to the most recent version available for my model.
So am I actually running on 64-bit or do I need to download specific drivers?
I have a Dell Inspiron N5030. Due to virus issues, I had to reinstall Windows 7 again using the Reinstallation DVD. Right now I am unable to connect to my home Wifi. I'm guessing I have to reinstall the drivers as well, but cannot find the CD for the drivers right now.
My set-up is as follows.Orange Livebox (with no wireless network card), which is hooked up to a Buffalo Airstation HP-G54. Which is in access point mode.I have an old desktop PC (Medion from 2003/2004), and a new A52J laptop. Everything works perfectly fine, and I had great internet access all over the house.I have a new housemate who has moved in, and she has brought with her a Dell Inspiron N5030 laptop. This laptop is causing me nightmares!!All of us are on Windows 7.Basically, the internet is disconnecting all of the time, and right clif**king the icon and trying to fix does nothing at all. The only way to fix things are to reset both the Orange Livebox modem and the Buffalo Airstation router. My laptop/PC are using static IP addresses, I've tried hers on a static IP and also using DHCP - neither worked. I have tried ALL channels on the Buffalo Airstation - nothing works. I've tried updating her wireless network card driver - it did nothing.
I have a Dell Inspiron N5030 laptop that I just installed a new hard drive in. Prior to the new install had no issues with wireless connectivity, now I have none. I have researched this issue for the past three days without success.
I also installed a new wireless card which still did not solve my problem. As I said, this is a Dell Inspiron N5030. Operating system is Windows 7 32-bit The network adapter is an Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller. In the Device Manager the Network Controller is listed under "Other Devices" The new wireless card installed is listed as a DNXA-95-D1. That is really the only information I can give you about this card.
Side note: I can get on the internet if I hard wire in, just can't access internet wirelessly.
I have an Inspion N5030 running Windows 8 with the Dell 365 Bluetooth chip installed. Up until recently I was able to use my chip to connect a Sculpt Touch Bluetooth mouse, but as of late, I am not. When I place the mouse into discovery mode I am able to see the mouse, but when I try to connect to it I get an error that says, "That didn't work. Try again and make sure your mouse is discoverable." I know the Bluetooth chip is still working as I am able to control my iPhone from the computer. I have all the updates installed for my system, including the driver for the Bluetooth card.
It appears that the 1395 WLAN mini-card on my computer does not support 802.11n wifi. Although the file implies that some 1395 cards may have 1500/1505 draft 802.11n capabilities. When looking at the driver details, it does not have any options or settings for 802.11n. Confusing. Since my computer is a number of years old, it may be that the wifi card is pre-cards with the 1500/1505 draft 802.11n capability.
My question is there an update driver for the 1395 mini-card that would allow the card to access my 802.11n router?
Is there a newer or compatible wifi card for the Inspirion 1525 (dell or otherwise) that can replace the 1395 mini-card so that I take advantage of my 802.11n router (Netgear N600 Dual Band Router) higher speed capabilities?
when tryin to install new WLAN driver of the following details from dell website wit my service tag WLAN half mini card 1501 it displays no compatible hardware found
Inspiron n5030 notebook. It no longer connects to networks "completely"(wifi or through cord). When I attempt to get connection from my own home network, it says "Limited access" and doesn't allow me to go onto the internet.I've tried flushing DNS, releasing and renewing the IP and checked if everything was set on automatic regarding the notebook's IP and gateway. Even when checking things through ipconfig, I see no actual IP. Default gateway is shown blank.
I'm using Dell Inspiron 1525. i just reformatted it because of some hard disc's problems. the first night after it is repaired, everything is okay. the internet is fast. but the next day, the internet is just running really slow, i dont even think i have loaded a complete page for the past 3 days, let alone downloading stuff.
well, i've tried most of the solutions i found online like turning off IPV6 and something else but the internet is still slow. and im using a ADSL modem, not a wireless one. the internet works just fine with other laptops. i called my technichian and asked. he said its the matter about laptop brands. every laptop has different.. i dont understand what he's talking about. so..
i used to have slow internet connection before reformatting but i thought its cause by my overloaded laptop memory, but now that it's reformatted i hardly have any software in it so what can i do?
I have a Dell Inspiron 530s desktop running Vista SP2. When I attempt to get online using a cable or a wireless USB adapter I get a self-assigned IP Address. When I manually add an IP and DNS addresses I can't get online also. I have removed my security software (webroot) and have disabled Windows Firewall. The same ethernet connection works on another one of my computers fine.
I have followed instructions and installed R140135.., also R159805
I have not received any error messages. Fn+F2 did not work, so I tried to activate BTTray within both of the driver programs. Nothing has happened. My Bluetooth devices (via Control panel) is empty. Bluetooth settings displays nothing.
I am trying to transfer photos from my Nokia phone. The phone cannot find the laptop. If I slide the button next to the CD drawer I get visibility of Wireless, or accidently turn it off (!).Under Dell drivers I can see WIDCOMM, R14035 & R159805.If I type BTTray.exe, it takes me there but double clicking it does nothing. Ditto if I run R159805twon.
Mine is Inspiron N5030 Laptop(New). When i try to install Blue tooth driver it asks me "Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless Switch" . I tried to press f2 & fn+f2. But no changes. I went to BIOS and Everything was enabled and proper.
I am now unable to access the internet with my Dell 560 running windows7. I have Verizon Fios for internet access. Windows network diagnostics reports that the connection between my access point, router or cable modem and the internet is broken and the network gateway is accessible but windows could not receive network traffic from the internet. Verizon's in-house -agent reports that there seems a connection problem between my router and the wall jack. I am able to access the internet with another computer and the the same router. I also have no problems with my iPad. I have interchanged cables and ports on the router.
I have a dell studio 1557 running windows 7. I live in my own apartment with roommates in college, and i've been having some very bad issues with slow internet or constant down time. Here are some key points:
- I have Charter internet.
- My 2 other roommates have NO ISSUES.
- My laptop works in my family's house. They have Comcast. I went on vacation a week ago and there were no issues on the hotel internet. No issues from the school's internet.
- I have been using my android phone as a tether because the internet is more stable. It's slow, but consistent for the most part. This is extra frustrating because I shouldnt have slow internet. And I sure as hell shouldnt be paying for internet I can't even enjoy.
- Charter has replaced 2 routers. Both are brand new. They are net gear. Charter is clueless to my problem.
- I have reinstalled windows. Dell told me to try safe mode. I noticed NO ISSUES WITH STANDARD BROWSING IN SAFE MODE. This leads me to believe it is a software issue.
- The connection is non-existent when coming out of hibernation or rebooting. In the morning, i have to boot up, make my coffee, and only then will it give me access to the internet. Otherwise, page timeouts. It can take up to 10 minutes for the internet to work.
- Youtube and general multitasking is very bad. Slower connection than ever, page timeouts, and I often need to wait for a video/music to buffer before I begin enjoying it.
My laptop has been this way for upwards of 6 months.
On my desk in my basement I have two computers, one HP Pavilion running Windows 7, and a Dell Precision running Windows Vista. Now I was wondering if it is possible to share the internet received on the HP to the Dell by the ethernet connections?
I installed Windows XP Professional SP3 x64. Naturally, the Device Manager informs me of missing drivers with the yellow question mark. I am looking for the driver called "Ethernet Controller".
I have looked under Drivers & Downloads for Dell Precision Workstation T5400 with my service tag <ADMIN NOTE:Service tag removed per privacy policy>. I have installed over 45 drivers but I still can't find the ethernet controller I'm looking for. I'm frustrated because I cannot connect to the internet or use ipconfig without this.
Its a Dell Inspiron comp with Windows 7 & a BT buisness Hub router/modem,When searching for available wifi several come up in box as normal but his own router name comes up but there is a red cross where the rest have the usual green signal strength bars. When you hover over router name it says "this computer settings are not compatable" His router appears to be working as both him and myself coneccted our phones through it OK.
I've upgraded Windows 8 from Win 7 home premium. the installation went ok and my Bluetooth mouse was initially working minus the roller and 'back' function.
I tried to install the Bluetooth 365 driver in compatibility mode as advised in this post:

Now my Bluetooth does not work at all and I can't connect any Bluetooth device.
My Dell Inspiron E1505 was running really slow and usually when this happens we reboot [reset] Windows XP and it is fine again, well the last time we did that it was good just like all the other times. But now my internet wont connect with the computer, we have AT&T DSL.
After installing the Windows 7 beta on my Dell Inspiron 6000, the wireless adapter was not found by Windows so the only way to connect to the network is through Ethernet. The adapter is the Intel Pro/wireless 2200bg. I've tried the latest driver from Dell with no success.
I have a laptop that I have to reinstall everything again and have 4 cd's and not sure where to begin inserting them into my computer to reinstall everything. I tried doing it once and my internet connection wouldn't work and many items had a ? under my computer and properties so must not have downloaded the drivers right?
We have a new Dell Inspiron15R with Windows 7 installed. Our internet provider requires a User ID and password and therefore requires a redirect to their website.
I get a Windows security message recommending I do not allow the redirect (which I can choose and force the redirect). My question is - Is there a setting I can modify to allow this redirect to eliminate the security warning? Our old laptop ran on XP and redirected without any security warning.
I have Inspiron 1440 Just installed windows 8 Pro after installing Bluetooth is not working only wifi is working.Windows 8 . Drivers are not available in Dell website.
i've been having problems hosting a wireless network on my dell inspiron 7720, windows 8. each time i set up a new network, it successfully sets up but then i don't find it afterwards, neither do others who try to connect.
when I upgraded to windows 8 pro on inspiron 14r 4010, Bluetooth doesn't work. I installed all the latest drivers except the drivers for Bluetooth which didn't install...even tried compatibility. when I press the Bluetooth key ( sign marked on F2 key) nothing happaens....no any message. previously on windows 7 ultimate,it was working fine.
