I have set up a home wireless network on a wireless router (D-Link) but it does not show up under wireless network connections (others in the neighbourhood do). It does appear however under "Manage My Connections", where it is listed correctly to automatically connect. The SSID is not hidden. Network adapters in the Dell are all reported as working normally, and the drivers are also reportedly up to date. Wireless networking is switched on.

Apr 21, 2012I recently reinstalled windows 7 on my dad laptop after he <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU> it up beyond repair. After installing the appropriate drivers I still had no detection on my w lan adapter so I checked out the device list, and it says I'm missing drivers for two things: one is the network controller, the other is just listed as an unknown device.
I already installed every driver for the appropriate devices on the laptop, in the correct order, or as i could best manage it, but still no dice. The only network driver on the disk for my inspiron is one for an Ethernet controller.

Mar 15, 2012My computers inability to connect to the internet. It is a 2006 Dell Inspiron 6000 with a 1370 WLAN card. I just moved into a new house and was able to connect to my roommates wireless connection with no problem. Then a couple weeks ago we both lost our ability to connect. When we disconnected the router and modum and then reconnected she was able to get on the internet again. I was unable to. A computer savvy friend came over and through some finagling was able to get my connection going again. I might try cleaning my computer up and putting stuff onto an external hard drive. Since then I have tried some different stuff I have seen on the internet, such as ipconfig to no avail, tried repairing the connections doesn't do anything.

Mar 30, 2010I have a used Inspiron 6000 and obviously the recovery CD doesn't contain the driver for my WiFi.
So, like any normal and quite capable PC user, I went to the Dell site and entered the Service Tag. So far so good. However, no driver to be found for my Wireless component. Believe me, I attempted to install ALL Communication and Network drivers available. The message I got in the wizard was always "Installation not possible. Please contact your administrator". I tried to phone, got stuck in a waiting line for 11 minutes 35 seconds, which I mentioned before ripped me off for €10 and then the line went dead. All mails have been so far left unanswered. Angry doesn't come close.
Without telling me to go to Microsoft or Dell or any other obscure website which then leads me back to Dell, where I can get the proper WiFi (WLAN for you modern machine users..) Network controller driver for my notebook, which is a Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook.

I have no problem connecting to the internet when I power up if I go through "repair connection". I have to do nearly every time I power on. How do I get it to stop? Jun 13, 2013I have got this new Dell inspiron 1521 with windows 8 and I am facing some weird problem with its DW WLAN NETWORK CONTROLLER.
it uses more of cpu resources (as seen from task manager) and causes the active window to become non active.
this makes it frustrating to work, means I am typing some username or anything in IE or Chrome or anywhere else and it suddenly becomes non active window (non selected as if some thing else is selected) and again becomes active in few seconds or I have to click anywhere in the window to make it active.
some times a pop up opens that "DW WLAN NETWORK CONTROLLER HAS STOPPED WORKING" send this information to microsoft.
This happens randomly and I'm not able to figure out when this thing occur, means I'm running on battery or power supply.
I have not used wifi on this laptop and I don't have wifi modem. I always use internet through ethernet cable.
One more thing whenever this problem occurs, I stop all the process related to WLAN in task manager and the problem of active-non active window and popup message disappears.
I have tried to uninstall and install the network adapter. also tried latest drivers from dell website.
