I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop and Netgear WGR614v6 that connect wirelessly, however I cannot connect to the internet. I can however connect the laptop to other wireless connections with no problem (ie McDonalds), and can connect other laptops to the router with no problems (ie company laptop).

The laptop with the slow connection (takes 5 HOURS to load a website, sometimes will not even load), i re-installed the OS, and installed all the drivers needed, and it still wont work. it shows strong connection to me, and im sure the password for the router is right. below is the ipconfig/all information. Having this problem for 2+ weeks now!!! I think this problem started when i restored my router to factory setting, my router is Netgear WGR614v6.

I just moved into a new house and was able to connect to my roommates wireless connection with no problem. Then a couple weeks ago we both lost our ability to connect. When we disconnected the router and modum and then reconnected she was able to get on the internet again. I was unable to. A computer savvy friend came over and through some finagling was able to get my connection going again. I might try cleaning my computer up and putting stuff onto an external hard drive. Since then I have tried some different stuff I have seen on the internet, such as ipconfig to no avail, tried repairing the connections doesn't do anything.

I have cable Internet and I have had to constantly reset router to get it o work. Even when on main computer a web page will fail to load two three times abnd then will work. I am at my wits end and don't want to buy a new router for fear of having to set up the bridge again and make an error when doing so.

It'll connect fine and work for a while and then it'll stop loading or refreshing pages. I checked for problems and found out it was missing the wireless network controllers driver. I tried connecting it with a normal network cable and it recognized it but still couldn't reach the internet. So, like any normal and quite capable PC user, I went to the Dell site and entered the Service Tag. So far so good. However, no driver to be found for my Wireless component. Believe me, I attempted to install ALL Communication and Network drivers available. The message I got in the wizard was always "Installation not possible. Please contact your administrator". I tried to phone, got stuck in a waiting line for 11 minutes 35 seconds, which I mentioned before ripped me off for €10 and then the line went dead. All mails have been so far left unanswered. Angry doesn't come close.
Without telling me to go to Microsoft or Dell or any other obscure website which then leads me back to Dell, where I can get the proper WiFi (WLAN for you modern machine users..) Network controller driver for my notebook, which is a Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook.

Yesterday the wireless no longer worked on my laptop. I have a small wireless icon (looks like a computer monitor) with a yellow triangle with an explanation point inside. The messages are 'Signal Strength: Excellent' and 'Status: Limited or No Connectivity'. I have tried the following with no success:
- Rebooting the laptop (multiple timess)
- Resetting both the cable modem and router
- Turning off the desktop, resetting both the cable modem and router, and rebooting the desktop
- Took my laptop to work where a wireless connection is available and received the same messages
Thinking my wireless adapter / wireless card is bad I purchased a Linksys wireless USB adapter and just installed it. However it also cannot connect to my wireless network and issues a 'Open network Failure' error.
The Internet works fine from my desktop but is directly connected to the modem. I have not tried connecting the modem directly to my laptop to see if it would pick up the connection.

Basically even though the signal strength is shown as excellent and hovering over the little monitor in notification area shows "Internet access" i cannot connect to the Internet via WiFi.
