View 1 Replies View RelatedI just did a fresh install of Windows 7 (x64) on Dell laptop- Dell Inspiron N5110 . I did not rebuild it from the factory restore disc as that failed to work. The installation is complete. I am trying To get my Wi-Fi to work by pressing FN+F2 however it is not working, the Bluetooth icon appears instead which doesn’t work either.I have tried to look for the wifi adapter in the device manager, but it does not exist in the list.I understand that I have to install the drivers. Will that do the trick? I also don’t know what the name of the wifi adapter is, so don’t know which driver to install.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi just reinstalled windows on my laptop and i figured i could just download drivers from the dell website. after following the installation order specified on the website.. installing first the NSS and then the chipset, etc.. I realized there wasn't a driver for the NIC on the website. i also noticed that the steps didn't include a step for ethernet drivers, so i replaced the NIC step with installing the broadcom integrated controller. unfortunately, after completing the rest of the installation steps, my Network Controller driver is still not installed (looking in the device manager), a hardwire connection through the ethernet cable gives me "limited or no connectivity" and there is no wireless capability whatsoever.

This never used to happen but has been occurring for about 5-6 months without an end in sight. The problem is that it takes ages to connect to a network and that networks are not joined automatically. Basically, whenever I open my laptop from sleep, I will see the little blue rotating symbol in the bottom right hand of the screen and it stays there for 2-3 minutes (usually) before it connects. Windows usually pops up an icon which says 'it is taking longer than usual to connect to the network' and it seems to often successfully connect when the connection attempt times out.
Steps I have taken to fix the issue:
- Update the network driver (it is up to date).- Never allow the system to turn off the wireless network adapter (via device manager).- Check that the network has 'join automatically' ticked in the settings.

I am having difficulty connecting my Inspiron N5110 to WiFi (I managed to when I first bought it last week through a different network but when I bought it home it didn't work).
When I try and connect, it asks for the key, which I enter. It then searches and says it can't connect to the Network. The WiFi Network then becomes unavailable and loses signal with all Internet connected devices then taken offline. The network then reconnects but the laptop still doesn't connect to the WiFi. Is there a setting I need to change in the laptop to get it to connect?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy pc is connected to the ethernet chord at home. I can go anywhere else and connect with a wireless connection but I can't in my own house. Every time I try I get an error the the network adapter isn't found. The trouble shooter can't even fix it. Everyone else in the house has no issues connecting with a wireless connection. The wireless connection has worked maybe twice for me since I purchased the laptop (May 2012). Since I am more comfortable at my desk it's no issue but there is a new printer that I can't connect to because I can't download the driver because I have to unplug my laptop to go in the other room to get to it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to reinstall Windows but upon reinstallation, I noticed that wireless does not connect. I tried pressing Fn +F2. Nothing. No LED light for wireless.
First I started the WLAN AutoConfig service under services.msc. After starting/enabling this service - nothing.
I searched the forum and found a post for Quickset. I followed the instructions given and restarted. When I press Fn+F2 the screen flashes the wifi symbol and my wifi LED comes on. However, when I go to connect to a wireless network - none can be found (I have connected to this network before and know that it works). I searched support and navigated to Manage Wireless Networks. I click on the Add button and get the following message:Windows cannot detect any wireless network interfaces.
ive read some of wat u said but my problem is that my wifi network goes well working then it goes to limited access when i try to fix it the screen freeze and i have to shut it down and then turn on....then it goes well working....idk wat is causing it to do so...sometime it does it every month or so and sometimes 5 times a day!

I just bought a brand new Inspiron 15R SE 7520. After a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (service pack 1) I've visited the Dell Product Support section, entered in my service tag and downloaded all the recommended drivers & applications. Everything works fine on the laptop right now except for one major issue: I can't connect to the internet. The wireless switch is ON, but there's no sign of any wireless networks in the Network and Sharing center or in the system tray icon next to the clock. This is what I see in the device manager:When I double click the Network controller the device status reads:The drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28),I checked this thread which seemed to have a very similar problem to mine, and I updated the bios to Inspiron_7520_A07_BIOS.Next I installed this driver [URL]. After unpacking the latter file (WiFi_Intel_W74_A01_Setup-G6Y8G_ZPE.exe) and running setup.exe I got his error message.

Where can I get the correct driver for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have got this new Dell inspiron 1521 with windows 8 and I am facing some weird problem with its DW WLAN NETWORK CONTROLLER.
it uses more of cpu resources (as seen from task manager) and causes the active window to become non active.
this makes it frustrating to work, means I am typing some username or anything in IE or Chrome or anywhere else and it suddenly becomes non active window (non selected as if some thing else is selected) and again becomes active in few seconds or I have to click anywhere in the window to make it active.
some times a pop up opens that "DW WLAN NETWORK CONTROLLER HAS STOPPED WORKING" send this information to microsoft.
This happens randomly and I'm not able to figure out when this thing occur, means I'm running on battery or power supply.
I have not used wifi on this laptop and I don't have wifi modem. I always use internet through ethernet cable.
One more thing whenever this problem occurs, I stop all the process related to WLAN in task manager and the problem of active-non active window and popup message disappears.
I have tried to uninstall and install the network adapter. also tried latest drivers from dell website.
I am having a problem with my network controller after upgrading to XP Professional. The Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller driver (I've tried both the download and CD) works fine for the Card itself, but it doesn't work for the Network Controller. When I first restart after running the installation program included with the driver, XP tells me that a new Network Controller device has been found. As I go through the driver installation for that device it fails, and I receive a message telling me that the Hardware Update Wizard "Cannot Install this Hardware...The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software." The device then appears in the Device Manager under the Other Devices section with a yellow question mark and exclamation point indicating trouble.
