I've got a Dell Inspiron 1545 which won't connect to my wireless. It's been working fine for months and then just stopped connecting one day and won't connect again since!My iPhone and the other laptop in the house can still connect and my laptop works if I plug the ethernet cable in.

My laptop restarted at some point during the night and now it can't connect to my normal wireless network. when I use my phone as a wifi hotspot, my laptop can connect to it.My desktop connects to my home's wireless network fine so I'm not sure why my laptop, which can connect to other networks fine, can't connect to my working home network

My Dell inspiron 1545 with vista won't connect to the internet. I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with the router because i'm currently posting this through the same router on a different laptop.Everything was fine and i hadn't changed any of the settings and suddenly when i tried to connect it would say "connection taking longer than usual" and then "connection unsuccessful"When i look on availiable wifi's the strenth is excellent and when i diagnose the problem it says "Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card"?

In the Device Manager the Network Controller has a yellow triangle with a exclamation point in it. I have tried to search to find the driver but it says it is unable to locate it. When I download the Intel driver from the Dell website, it downloads but nothing ever opens.

When I go to Network and Sharing Center it shows a drawing of my PC and then a green line to "Identifying" and a line with an X to Internet. It also says my access is local only.

The message "this computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured" popped up. So I tried to plug in a an ethernet cable and it still wont let me connect to the internet! In my device manager bar under other devices a network controller is there with a yellow excplanation point. View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to Windows 7 today and got the message "Your Bluetooth Software license does not include use with this Bluetooth device ." I can see the 590Plantronics in the "Bluetooth Headset Operations and Settings" window but it would not connect.
I looked for and installed the latest driver for Windows 7 on the Dell driver downloads site "Widdcomm Bluetooth Software 6.2.0.9600". When it installed it gave a "Device unplugged" message for four instances of "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" but despite a "Ready to use" message for "Bluetooth Hands-free Audio" the overall message is "Device did not install properly" and I still cannot connect to my P590 headset.

I have had problems with this laptop ever since i recieved it, i have an old laptop with a worse card which picks up my signal perfectly fine and the speed and signal stays constant. With this inspiron 1545 with a "even better" wireless card i have many problems:,losing signal,poor signal strength and quality,speeds going from decent to slower than dial up,I will be checking this as often as possible.

For some reason my laptop connects to my network for a few minutes then disconnects, then it reconnects for a few minutes and disconnects. This happens repeatedly. I replaced my old Linksys WRT54G v.8 router with a DLink DIR-655 N Router thinking this would solve the problem but it didnt. I also positioned the new router higher than the last one, about 5 feet from the floor. The drivers for the Intel WiFi Link 5100 Mini Wireless Card on my laptop appears up to date, the current driver version is 13.5.0.6 from Intel. I don't experience wireless connection problems with my iPhone, apple tv or Xbox 360. Additionally, my DLink routers firmware is up to date.

My Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop computer recently had a problem with its hard drive. I took it in and the computer guy had to get me a new hard drive. I picked it up today and my internet won't work! No networks show up. I've tried pushing the F2 key that usually turns the wireless on and off, but nothing. I went into my control panel>network and internet>network map, and it says, "The adapter is not connected." What do I need to do to get my wireless to work?

I have Inspiron 1545 and I've installed the latest available "Windows 7 Ultimate", but the OS could not detect the Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module.
The Nokia N95 bluetooth finds the laptop bluetooth module, but there is no reaction from the Windows 7 OS. There is no Bluetooth device in the "Device Manager".
I have just bought a v313w printer & cannot get it to connect wireless to my inspirion 1545 laptop (windows 7)During the wireless set-up, it gets to the third of the five stages ok. These are configuring printer, resetting printer & connecting to wireless network. It fails on Acquiring network address & communicating with the printer!
I have tried the following without any luck, uninstalling & re-installing, powering down cable modem/router, changing security settings on router from 64bit wep to 128 wep & WPA/PSK, dell expert taking control of my laptop & trying to connect (which resulted in Dell sending me a new printer because the expert seemed to think it maybe a faulty wireless card in the printer, this is not the case becuase the same problem occurs with the second printer dell have sent me!). I have downloaded & installed the latest drivers for this printer from the dell website & I've switched off my security (anti virus/firewall) when trying to install.
I am completely stuck as to what to try next, the printer works perfectly fine from the USB cable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWireless service on Dell laptop computer had been running fine for 4.5 months until underground Comcast cable failed, presumably due to freezing and thawing in cold New England soil. All Comcast service went out, TV, Internet cable modem, etc. Service was restored with above ground cable, and wireless service returned to other devices in household, but not the Dell laptop. I am wondering if my wireless card itself was damaged in the event, as no software fixes I have tried have worked. However, the device manager says the Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-card is working properly and the driver software for the service is up to date.

I got a (one year old) Dell Inspiron 1545 and I'm using it always with wifi on to get connected to the net.Since a couple of days this Wifi connection often goes off and on (by itself) and I got no clue what it source of this problem is.My Eventlog says that it switches off very irregulary (between 3 and 10 minutes). I've installed the newest drivers and got the latest updates for the Wifi card and on my Windows Vista.

The WiFi worked before I re-loaded windows from the recovery disc, The radio switch indicates it is on but it doesn't seem to find any signals. I am running windows vista sp-2.
