Wireless doesnt get enabled on pressing fn+F2 key, it turns on for a fraction of a second signified by the sound but it again sounds and turns off.Just cant get it enabled...Is there any other way to turn it on, on my Inspiron 1545?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't really know much about computers, but I have a Dell inspiron 1545 and it fell off my bed by accident a while back so now I notice glitches here and there, but recently it just doesn't connect to Internet anymore, and I know my wifi is fine because I'm using my iPad right now to write this. When I go to Network and Sharing Center it shows a drawing of my PC and then a green line to "Identifying" and a line with an X to Internet. It also says my access is local only.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have configured cisco LAP1240 in H-Reap Mode for multiple branch offices with Local switching and central authentication. one of the branch's AP does not join the controller in HQ while the others are all ok. i have firewall only in HQ, i did priming first for all APs like let them join the controller and configure controller IP in high availbility, and H-Reap config and assign SSID to map with the branch local vlan. when i faced this issue first time i brought back ap and configure a static IP address for AP than recheck them again but the problem still same. since i have only one firewall in the network and also other branches joined the controller through that firewall and no issues.

I have a Flex 7500 with 200 1142AP's working fine in remote office and local setup. We have since purchased 3 OEAP 602's and looking to distribute to teleworkers.
I have configured the OEAP to point to the NAT'd IP of the WLC, the OEAP does connect and is listed briefly in the WLC wireless listing but I am not able to make any configuration changes, it will then dissassociate and try the join process all over again. I have attached below the OEAP 600 event log. I see that the WLC does not support data DTLS encryption and looking to make this work.
I have tried to install the DTLS license file from the Cisco website, but says license failed to install, with no other errors.

I have had problems with this laptop ever since i recieved it, i have an old laptop with a worse card which picks up my signal perfectly fine and the speed and signal stays constant. For some reason my laptop connects to my network for a few minutes then disconnects, then it reconnects for a few minutes and disconnects. This happens repeatedly. I replaced my old Linksys WRT54G v.8 router with a DLink DIR-655 N Router thinking this would solve the problem but it didnt. I also positioned the new router higher than the last one, about 5 feet from the floor. The drivers for the Intel WiFi Link 5100 Mini Wireless Card on my laptop appears up to date, the current driver version is 13.5.0.6 from Intel. I don't experience wireless connection problems with my iPhone, apple tv or Xbox 360. Additionally, my DLink routers firmware is up to date.

My Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop computer recently had a problem with its hard drive. I took it in and the computer guy had to get me a new hard drive. I picked it up today and my internet won't work! No networks show up. I've tried pushing the F2 key that usually turns the wireless on and off, but nothing. These are configuring printer, resetting printer & connecting to wireless network. It fails on Acquiring network address & communicating with the printer!
I have tried the following without any luck, uninstalling & re-installing, powering down cable modem/router, changing security settings on router from 64bit wep to 128 wep & WPA/PSK, dell expert taking control of my laptop & trying to connect (which resulted in Dell sending me a new printer because the expert seemed to think it maybe a faulty wireless card in the printer, this is not the case becuase the same problem occurs with the second printer dell have sent me!). All Comcast service went out, TV, Internet cable modem, etc. Service was restored with above ground cable, and wireless service returned to other devices in household, but not the Dell laptop. I am wondering if my wireless card itself was damaged in the event, as no software fixes I have tried have worked. I seem to have a problem with my Dell DW1520 wireless LAN card installed on a Studio 1747 laptop.The LAN card seems to have a mind of its own and is rarely enabled at start up. Repeatedly restarting the laptop a few times somehow magically enables the network card though.When disabled, I can see the red cross on the task bar (network connection). The network card is not even detected and is not visible in device manager. However, when I restart the laptop a few times, the bars appear, the LAN card appears in device manager and I can connect to the wireless network.
I logged a call with Dell Technical support for this and a different issue (BSOD and restart). They replaced my motherboard and asked me to monitor the situation. While the BSOD/restart issue seems to have disappeared with the motherboard replacement, the wireless LAN card issue still remains. The person that came to install the motherboard also tried installing new drivers for the LAN card but that hasn't worked. Dell tech support now say that I must reinstall the whole Operating System (Windows 7), drivers etc from scratch.
I am running a DIR-825 I believe one of the original's no updates or anything. I run it mixed mode. The 2.4 shows up and I can connect to but the 5 ghz (n) speed says it's enabled but I can never see it when I scan on any of my wireless n products (laptops and other computers). Dlink support told me to change to mixed mode g and n. I was running it in mixed mode (a, g and n). D link told me to change to mixed mode g and n and to make sure they stay on channel 6 and 11. Is this correct. Which firmware should I upgrade to and is there any easy way to do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've an Inspiron 1521 with Dell wireless minicard 1505, running Vista that was running fine except for 'BCM42RLY service failed to start, can't find file' messages logged in the event log, so I thought I would stop that by uninstalling the device driver and re-installing a later version. So I *deleted* when I did the un-install (didn't want any nasty bits left behind) and re-installed the later R174292 drivers. Install went ok, and device manager likes it too, no nasty exclamation marks and it does say "This device is working properley"! On dear, the Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility tells me different, it says "There are currently no wirelss adapaters available and enabled". When you try to 'connect to a network' it too reports "Windows cannot find any networks".
Done "SFC /scannow" just in case, and no probs reported.
I seem to have deleted something really important when I nuked the driver, that R174292 did not replace? Needless to say I cannot roll back the driver! And, just to be sure, that little 'ole network switch on the side of the 'old lappie is firmly ON!
I've enabled RDP on a laptop, but I can't connect to it. Pinging the laptop works. nmap shows ports open, but not RDP. netstat on the laptop shows nothing listening on 3389. I've also tried rebooting. [code]

Other function keys work properly. I vaguely remember seeing this icon when I first purchased the laptop, but soon after purchase I had to completely reinstall the operating system and have not had a need to a wireless connection to notice it was no longer there.Because I cannot access wireless connections I assume there is a problem with enabling this feature of my laptop.
