View 5 RepliesI have a three year old Inspiron 1545. About a month ago the computer stopped detecting the wifi at home. It never had this problem before, and the other household laptop and iPhone had no problem detecting and getting onto the the wifi. The problematic laptop will connect to the net via wire. I get a red x over the connection icon, and when I put the cursor over the icon, a message reads "connection status unknown: the dependency service or group failed to start."

The Nokia N95 bluetooth finds the laptop bluetooth module, but there is no reaction from the Windows 7 OS. There is no Bluetooth device in the "Device Manager".
i tryed clicking The Dell wireless WLAN card utility and it reads, "there are currently no wireless adaptors availabe and enabled, i also wento to device manager and next to all my network adaptors there is an exclamation mark?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI don't really know much about computers, but I have a Dell inspiron 1545 and it fell off my bed by accident a while back so now I notice glitches here and there, but recently it just doesn't connect to Internet anymore, and I know my wifi is fine because I'm using my iPad right now to write this. When I go to Network and Sharing Center it shows a drawing of my PC and then a green line to "Identifying" and a line with an X to Internet. It also says my access is local only.

A few hours ago, I just restored my laptop to factory settings. Once it was done, I tried connecting to the internet but the computer could not detect ANY wireless networks!I already know it is not the modem or router because I have a Macbook Pro and two HP laptops that connect perfectly fine to the modem. I also made sure the wireless is on. The laptop with the problem is a Toshiba Satellite l645. It's running on a 64-bit Windows 7. When I try to look up wireless networks, it only shows 'MOBILE BROADBAND CONNECTION".

My friend's computer can connect to it but mine doesn't detect it even when the router is really close it's a 50 Mbps so I at least dont think it's the speed problem. My driver is Dell Wireless 1490 Dual Band Mini-card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my computer to our router with no success. Windows doesn't detect the wire when I plug it in, no matter which one I use. This has never been a problem before I recently installed Windows 7 HP.I had no wireless connection to the router either after I installed the new Windows, but following an answer to a remotely similar question in the forum fixed it ('scan for hardware changes' on "Realtek Wireless LAN" under Network Adapters in Device Manager)
View 8 Replies View Relatedfor no apparent reason I have lost both wi-fi and wired Internet on my Dell Inspiron 1545. I have tried to set up again etc but it states 'No connections are available'. I am connected on my iPod so my broadband is fine. I have tried with an Ethernet cable but it does nothing.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi have been experiencing problems with my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop running windows XP. For some reason my laptop connects to my network for a few minutes then disconnects, then it reconnects for a few minutes and disconnects. This happens repeatedly. I replaced my old Linksys WRT54G v.8 router with a DLink DIR-655 N Router thinking this would solve the problem but it didnt. I also positioned the new router higher than the last one, about 5 feet from the floor. The drivers for the Intel WiFi Link 5100 Mini Wireless Card on my laptop appears up to date, the current driver version is 13.5.0.6 from Intel. I don't experience wireless connection problems with my iPhone, apple tv or Xbox 360. Additionally, my DLink routers firmware is up to date.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA couple of weeks ago, one of our ASA 5505s failed, and Cisco TAC shipped out a replacement. I was on vacation, and my assistant worked with TAC to get our backed-up configuration restored to the new hardware. This backup was just a copy & paste of the "show start," rather than an export done from ASDM. Anyway, since I got back on vacation I was able to iron out all the wrinkles from the configuration restore, except one. The remote access VPN isn't quite working. This VPN is only used in emergencies, when I can't access that branch office's network via our WAN.
What's happening is that clients are getting "authentication failed" messages when connecting. On Windows, it's an error 691. The VPN is set to authentication against RADIUS (Microsoft IAS server). The IAS server reports that the connection and authentication is successful. AAA RADIUS authentication tests on the ASA succeed, as do authentication & authorization LDAP tests. Basically, everything was working fine before we swapped in the new hardware, and I've gone over the configuration with a fine-toothed comb to ensure nothing's changed -- but clearly, I'm missing something. The new ASA is otherwise operating perfectly.
I installed the drivers that came installed on the PC.
I looked at the settings and confirmed that they were correct per my internet provider.
Enernet works and I can hook up using cable. But the PC used to auto detect all wireless connections available. Now it detects nothing.
I gave this old router (DGL-4300) to someone far away and couldnt get it work over the phone.Normally, I would just connect it to my cable modem and it detects all the WAN IPs (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS Server, Secondary DNS Server). However, she lives in a building and her internet comes from the wall where she attaches her Macbook to it via Ethernet. When she connects the router to the wall, the WAN IPs remain at 0.0.0.0.

The WiFi worked before I re-loaded windows from the recovery disc, The radio switch indicates it is on but it doesn't seem to find any signals. I am running windows vista sp-2. View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently moved into the dorms of my college and tried connecting my laptop to the internet using an ethernet cable. It worked, so I decided to try and play Xbox Live through the use of the ethernet cable and it did not work. After messing around with it and failing to get it to work for my Xbox 360, the ethernet decided to quit working for my computer as well. (To try and get my Xbox to connect to the internet with the ethernet cord, I tried network bridging by bridging the ethernet connection with the wireless connection, then unplugging the ethernet cable from the wall so as to connect it from my laptop to Xbox 360. This didn't work so I just deleted the bridge. This is when the problem started happening as the local connection stopped appearing.) I am able to plug it in and see that in the Network and Sharing Center, however, it shows up as being unplugged. After a couple seconds though, it disappears. If I click on it fast enough, it shows up with an Error Code 45 after looking at the properties. I have tried typing in ipconnfig /all and the ethernet connection doesn't show up there either.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI tried 3 cables, and even one of them was new. So im sure the problem isn't the cables. For some reason, whenever I connect a ehternet cable to my computer, I cannot seem to get internet connection through it. Some days ago I installed this Wireless Lan device from a CD, that came with a sort of antenne I had to put on my computer. It works great, BUT its slow. Thats why i would like to go on internet with cable again. I remember one day to another that my computer didn't detect the cables anymore, what could be the problem?

I recently purchases an inspiron 1545 notebook with various upgrades, one including an upgraded wireless card to get faster speeds and signal strength. I have had problems with this laptop ever since i recieved it, i have an old laptop with a worse card which picks up my signal perfectly fine and the speed and signal stays constant. With this inspiron 1545 with a "even better" wireless card i have many problems:,losing signal, poor signal strength and quality, speeds going from decent to slower than dial up,I will be checking this as often as possible.

I get message indicating that a "internal configuration is inconsistent...and to restart. I have tried most of the suggestions I found on the Internet, but no joy. Restarting makes no change---I still get the same message. Utilizing network interview program, it indicates that the card is 'non-operational.' When I check through control panel...system...device manager I am told that the card is working (no yellow mark is seen). I seem to think that it is likely a software issue, perhaps with some "update" gone crazy.
View 26 Replies View RelatedOn a Dell Inspiron 1545, the internet stopped connecting. I updated all of the networking drivers and that did not work. The 'repair wireless network connection' does not work, it tries to repair it then stops at 'renewing your IP address'. It has nothing to do with the wireless network, because we are at a university and only this computer will not work.

My Inspiron 1545 has a 1397 Wireless G card. I want to up it to a Wireless N card. I have seen references to a Wireless N 1501, 1503, 1510, 1515 & 1520, but none of these are mentioned as being compatible with a 1545.
