View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying unsuccessfully for weeks to find out how to turn on the Bluetooth adapter (turn Bluetooth radio on) on my Dell Latitude D620.
Firstly does the D620 have a built in Bluetooth adapter? I've done a search on the web and it appears it does. Also I see a Bluetooth symbol just above my keyboard, but it is not lighted up. How do I turn it on?
I went to Control Panel, Device Manager -> Network adapters, but I don't see any Bluetooth devices listed there.
Do I need to install some software? I went to support.dell.com and downloaded the installer for Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal Module driver. But when I install it, it is tries to install the Vista Profile Pack, and it fails because it "Could not find compatible bluetooth chip on your system" and "DFU install failed with returncode 137".
i have inspiron N5010 laptop in which i accidently turned off my bluetooth adapter by clicking the bluetooth icon in they trayicons on left-side bottom of screen.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect a Logitech Boombox to a Dell XPS M1210 running WinXP SP3 but discovered that the Dell Wireless 355 adapter is Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. Any success pairing the Logitech Boombox device to their XPS M1210 and, if so, what steps did you take?
Alternatively, if there is another Bluetooth adapter that I can install internally in the M1210 that supports Bluetooth 2.1 or which is known to work with the Logitech Boombox?
The 355 adapter's software successfully finds the boombox but cannot connect. And if I try to pair the device, the 355 software insists on a security key, but I don't think the Logitech Boombox requires or has one. I have tried obvious candidates like "0000", "000", "00", "0" and "0001", etc., but I suspect that this is a dead-end path.
I installed the following software patches for the 355 adapter per the Dell drivers and downloads website:
Dell_Wireless-355-Bluetooth-_A01_R127314.exe and R159805.EXE.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI keep getting a bluetooth driver error when I boot up my Inspiron N5010.
It says "Bluetooth L2CAP interface failed".
And I can't pair any bluetooth devices with the laptop.
This never worked from the day I got the computer.
I am trying to sync my headset with the Targus adapter and it isn't recognizing the headset.
I have Win7 laptop Inspiron 1750. Is there a download to do this here? This is my first time using a bluetooth.
This afternoon, I plugged in a Belkin bluetooth adapter F8TO16 and paired it with a pair of 7dayshop headphones. Instead of leaving well alone with an old driver, I decided to update the Belkin driver - which went well. However, the Dell 365 Module then reported an error and trouble shooting informed me that it now had a driver error. Windows searched for and found a driver, but could not install it.. I've since downloaded and installed new Dell drivers for it but I still get the same result - can't install driver. (The module was working fine before I up-dated the Belkin driver.)
I figure I now have to un-install the Module and then install an up-dated version. Is this the right way to go and if it is, how do I go about it? I'm using Win7 64 bit on an Inspiron 1750.
Had the following network (fully functional) for last 3 years: Modem (netopia dsl 192.168.1.254) router (linksys wrt54gs 192.168.1.1) WAP1 (linksys wrt54g2 192.168.1.250) and WAP2 (Linksys wrt54g2).I was always able to click on Devices and Printers in Win 7 and would see the equipment displayed.I could also access the router and wireless access points by typing their address in my browser. The modem failed after 5 years.I purchase a new Netgear N300 ADSL2+Modem Router (DGN2200)and replaced the failed modem and attached router.I made no changes to either WAP's.Everything works just fine (after about 30 minutes on phone with Netgear Tech to configure), but now none of the equipment displays in Devices and Printers. Also, I cannot connect to either WAP by typing their address in browser.I can see the Netgear device when I click on "network" in file manager. It displays a model number and is labeled a "gateway".
I'm just curious as to why I am no longer able to "see" or access the devices. Looks like I would have to actually pull the WAP's and connect to them directly if I needed to change their configurations.
My Dell laptop cannot see any of my printers on my network. I recently installed a new Linksys 160N Router and created a new network on my desktop which runs Windows 7. These are the three computers I have:
HP Desktop - Windows 7
Dell Inspirion 600m Laptop - Windows XP
Compaq Desktop - Windows NT
Prior to installing the new router, all computers could see each other on the network.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer can no longer connect to the internet. As I do not use an Ethernet cable, my concern is the wireless aspect. I am running Windows 7 on an HP laptop, and when I troubleshoot the problem all it pops up with is "Local Area Connection 4 adapter is disabled". When I try repairs as an administrator it just repeats the fact that the adapter is disabled, but does not provide a way for me to fix this. I have also tried going through Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Troubleshooting > Network and Internet and selecting the network adapter option, selecting the Local Area Connection 4 to diagnose. It then said troubleshooting couldn't identify a problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI put in a bluetooth adapter today and now my onboard wired connection isn't working. I had to put in a wireless card. ipconfig /renew gives me an error that says "An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : The name specified in the Network Control Block (NCB) is in use on a remote adapter. The NCB is the data." I tried completely removing the network driver and then updating them, didn't work.I've removed all the bluetooth drivers I can find in the device manager, nothing changed. Troubleshooting and having it reset the adapter doesn't work. Only solution I can find is removing an extra dhcp reservation that might be there and I have no idea how to do that. It's like my computer thinks that bluetooth device is supposed to be my new wired connection or something.

View 1 Replies View RelatedVery soon for the second time we will be replacing systems in our (grad school) student computer Lab from the time of its opening in January, 1998. The monitors are recessed down below glass desk surfaces and are 17-inch CRT (Dell). Our current (medium) computers are SFF GX-150 and have 512MB RAM (doubled from the original 256) and 80 GB hard drives. The new GX620 will have 2GB RAM, 160MB hard drive. In addition, our current 10/100 Ethernet LAN for this part of the campus is also supposed to be upgraded to Gigabit (switch). Any experience of using Gigabit in an organization's local area network to find out any concerns for which I should be alert as we begin this new phase. Incoming students arrive before middle of August so the switch-out needs to be done fairly quickly and smoothly. What concerns should I have?

I purchased a bluetooth mouse and tried to use it, but I am unable to get the computer to turn on the Bluetooth device. Had Dell support look at it, but the guy passed me off to someone else. So I still do not have this working. Is there an updated driver required to get this Bluetooth working.
