I put in a bluetooth adapter today and now my onboard wired connection isn't working. I had to put in a wireless card. ipconfig /renew gives me an error that says "An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : The name specified in the Network Control Block (NCB) is in use on a remote adapter. The NCB is the data." I tried completely removing the network driver and then updating them, didn't work.I've removed all the bluetooth drivers I can find in the device manager, nothing changed. Troubleshooting and having it reset the adapter doesn't work. Only solution I can find is removing an extra dhcp reservation that might be there and I have no idea how to do that. It's like my computer thinks that bluetooth device is supposed to be my new wired connection or something.
I've spent the last 3 days trying to add my new Win7 laptop to our network. Not only hasn't that worked, but now even the XP computers aren't talking to each other ("ns etwork is inaccessible. You may not have permission ...")Here's what's on the network when it was working:
Desktop: Dell, WinXP Pro SP3, wired to network Laptop 1: Lenovo T43p, WinXP Pro SP3, both wired & wireless options (usually use wireless) Laptop 2: Dell, WinXP Pro SP3, ditto above **All machines are running Norton 360, but even when I turn off the firewall, they're not accessible. Internet: DSL modem Router: Cisco E3000 Printers: HP LaserJet 4 on desktop LPT1 HP Color LaserJet 2840 All-in-one on network
Then I want to add my new Lenovo T420 laptop (Win7 Pro SP1 x64) (I do have all machines in the same workgroup.
My iphone started resetting the connection every 2 minutes today. I noticed that the date maximum is Dec 31, 2012. My logs are getting messed up, and NTP isn't setting. Is there a firmware update for REV E3?? I'm at 5.10 right now.
I've been trying unsuccessfully for weeks to find out how to turn on the Bluetooth adapter (turn Bluetooth radio on) on my Dell Latitude D620.
Firstly does the D620 have a built in Bluetooth adapter? I've done a search on the web and it appears it does. Also I see a Bluetooth symbol just above my keyboard, but it is not lighted up. How do I turn it on?
I went to Control Panel, Device Manager -> Network adapters, but I don't see any Bluetooth devices listed there.
Do I need to install some software? I went to support.dell.com and downloaded the installer for Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal Module driver. But when I install it, it is tries to install the Vista Profile Pack, and it fails because it "Could not find compatible bluetooth chip on your system" and "DFU install failed with returncode 137".
i have inspiron N5010 laptop in which i accidently turned off my bluetooth adapter by clicking the bluetooth icon in they trayicons on left-side bottom of screen.
I am trying to connect a Logitech Boombox to a Dell XPS M1210 running WinXP SP3 but discovered that the Dell Wireless 355 adapter is Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. Any success pairing the Logitech Boombox device to their XPS M1210 and, if so, what steps did you take?
Alternatively, if there is another Bluetooth adapter that I can install internally in the M1210 that supports Bluetooth 2.1 or which is known to work with the Logitech Boombox?
The 355 adapter's software successfully finds the boombox but cannot connect. And if I try to pair the device, the 355 software insists on a security key, but I don't think the Logitech Boombox requires or has one. I have tried obvious candidates like "0000", "000", "00", "0" and "0001", etc., but I suspect that this is a dead-end path.
I installed the following software patches for the 355 adapter per the Dell drivers and downloads website:
Dell_Wireless-355-Bluetooth-_A01_R127314.exe and R159805.EXE.
Dell 365 Bluetooth Adapter program for [ Dell Studio 1558 ] is not compatible with windows 8. please update this program for compatibility with windows 8.
This afternoon, I plugged in a Belkin bluetooth adapter F8TO16 and paired it with a pair of 7dayshop headphones. Instead of leaving well alone with an old driver, I decided to update the Belkin driver - which went well. However, the Dell 365 Module then reported an error and trouble shooting informed me that it now had a driver error. Windows searched for and found a driver, but could not install it.. I've since downloaded and installed new Dell drivers for it but I still get the same result - can't install driver. (The module was working fine before I up-dated the Belkin driver.)
I figure I now have to un-install the Module and then install an up-dated version. Is this the right way to go and if it is, how do I go about it? I'm using Win7 64 bit on an Inspiron 1750.
Cingular 8100 windows mobile 5 network/internet (browsing) sharing via Bluetooth or wireless setting or configuration and also, USB network/internet connection

I'm working on a project in which we have to transfer our mobile phone calls via internet and our mobile should be connected to pc via bluetooth. This is pretty easy at dialer's end but how to recieve the call via internet on some pc and direct it to the reciever via bluetooth.
i have a gateway gt5668e and recently had to replace my hdd and i decided to put windows xp home sp1 on it. after installing windows my internet wouldn't work pretty sure i just need drivers but i cant seem to find the right ones for this pc , is as if it can only run vista lol. i have no network adapter in network connections and no drop down for it in device manager have been messin with it for 3 days.
im using a laptop with built in wireless adapter and it connects to my router but the connection appears to be very weak because i often get disconnects and the taskbar shows me having only one or two bars(im using windows 7). My roommate's laptop connects to it with max bars. So, i got my old usb adapter, which works fine on my desktop(i tested it), and it cant make the laptop use the adapter instead of the built in wireless adapter. I have tried disabling the built in adapter and it just tells me that i cannot connect to the internet. The usb adapter is enabled but it has a red X on the side of the picture.
I have a usb adapter that i used to use with another computer to get internet access. now i dont have that computer but when i plug the usb adapter into my new computer it can get internet access. HOWEVER, the new computer loses connection a lot and is mighty slow sometimes. It is not that far away from the other computer. on different levels but close. I think i might have installed it wrong. what is the correct way to connect to the internet using a usb adapter to connect with a computer that gets internet connection directly? or how do i make this connection stronger/better?
How can I share Internet to more than one network adapter? Internet Connection Sharing can only share to one adapter at a time, and I need to do this to two.
I have an very old laptop that I wanted to make use of for guests. It is Windows ME but does not even have an ethernet port, it was used for only dial up. I thought I could make it wireless to my router using the Linksys Wireless USB adapter WUSB54GC USB Stick. It has installed with no problem and connects to the router with no problem but it will not connect to the internet. It just says internet cannot be found. I have googled and googled and googled and it seems a lot of people have had this problem but all the answers are not for Windows ME and a laptop that does not have wireless connections, so I am stuck.
I'm part of a Tech Support department of 50 located along the Gulf Coast. In years past we have found hurricanes and other disasters may have forced Engineers to work from home or out of hotel rooms for several weeks. Since that time we are now using VoIP phones that require a power over Ethernet (PoE) LAN connection. Along with the phone we already have an external power brick that we can take home that supplies the PoE LAN connection. However, that requires that you have access to the router so you can run a physical cable from the router to the power brick.
That's fine when you are at your own house and have access to your own router. But in the case of a hotel, you can't run a cable to the router. Many hotels have gone to wireless only and don't have a physical LAN jack to plug into. So I've been looking at something like the Netgear WNCE3001 Dual-Band Internet Adapter. That will supply a physical LAN connection from WiFi only. But it does not have PoE. So now if we are going to work from a hotel room, we need the VoIp phone, the power brick and the WiFi Internet adapter. 3 seperate items to lug around.
Is there such a device that would allow you to pickup a WiFi signal in a hotel room and has a physical LAN jack that is also capable of PoE? I could at least lose the power brick then.
I have a desktop computer that connects to the Internet with a modem. I just bought a new computer that I want to use in a different room in my house. Can I use a Wi-Fi USB adapter to access the Internet on my new computer?
There are two PCs side by side on the table, one is XP and the other is Windows 7. I pull out Ethernet Cable from PC/XP and put it on PC/Windows 7. Because, I started using PC/Win 7 more often. Afterwards, I put on Wireless Adaptor with Win 7 to XP. Now, I can not get Internet on PC/XP. How to get Internet on XP with Wireless Adapter which was on Windows 7?
I am in Italy for the summer and brought a usb wireless antenna and have a good neighbor who has given me the password to his adsl router. I have a pc with xp pro and after installing the drivers, I get a very good signal and I get an IP and gateway address, windows shows i am connect but internet will not hook up. I have tried installand reinstalling the software, disable firewall and anti virus to no avail. worked on this for several days . Then I installed the software on my Asus ee net book that has xp home . It connected to internet right away.. I can work like this, but have all my software on the pc and would like to use it for the internet
my vista machine connected to the internet. My PC, a Dell studio 540, worked perfectly well on the BT Homehub2 in our last house but now I have very infrequent access. The wireless adapter connects to the network but not to the internet. I get a 'Identifying public network' message with (no customise option). When I use LAN to connect 'unidentified network'.it will connect via wireless, but it seems random and then if the machine sleeps or is restarted it's back to square one.
after purchasing a 11yr.old compaq presario 1200 from the swap shop,I was told by the seller,I would need usb ethernet adapter.I bought the adapter, but still can'get the internet.
I have a Ralink 802.11b/9 54 bps wireless USB adapter.I was able to install the drivers and get it so the computer sees the adapter and the adapter is able to see and connect to my wireless. It will not however connect to the internet. (I am using a HPpav a1113w with windows XP and I have a Dlink wireless router)
I've tried so many settings I cant even remember where i left off but one general question, troubleshoot to the next step with the wga54g; sometimes the connection shows 'acquring address' but never connects. I've fiddled with things so that i can get the GA to acquire an address but the internet comes through. Also the GA never shows up on the client table. So is the fact that i can get a network address a good thing or doesn't that necessarily mean i'm 'connected' to the network. Its frustrating to have the G light lite up yet no connection also at one point I did get the GA to show up in the client table when it was directly connected to the linksys 1200 but when i walked into the room and attached it to the PC, no dice I've turned off all firewalls temporarily and the 1200 is set on wpa/wp2 mixed. when i tried setting it just to wpa i got a warning then I lost my internet. I had to reinstall the 1200 again.
My Belkin wireless usb network adapter isn't connecting to the internet. The router and everything is fine as other computers in the house are working. It's just one desktop pc that isn't connecting. Our internet was running slower than it should and that was because we had too many wires and so in order to speed it up we decided to use a wireless connection instead of an ethernet cable. The problem seems to be that the adapter just isn't connecting. The little icon showing the status of the connection keeps going back and forth from no connection to attempting to connect.
I received the recovery CD's from Dell and reinstalled the operating system, But now I can't connect to the Internet and get the message that there is no network adapter. What do I do now? Do I need to use the Driver CD and reinstall also? [code]
I have a Belkin wireless N router and my PC uses a dual band wireless N USB stick. My internet speed when hardwired is 30 MB but when connected using my USB adapter it does not exceed 15 MB. Is there a limit on USB adapters and is there a way to increase the internet speed here?
