I've spent the last 3 days trying to add my new Win7 laptop to our network. Not only hasn't that worked, but now even the XP computers aren't talking to each other ("ns etwork is inaccessible. You may not have permission ...")Here's what's on the network when it was working:
Desktop: Dell, WinXP Pro SP3, wired to network Laptop 1: Lenovo T43p, WinXP Pro SP3, both wired & wireless options (usually use wireless) Laptop 2: Dell, WinXP Pro SP3, ditto above
**All machines are running Norton 360, but even when I turn off the firewall, they're not accessible.
Internet: DSL modem Router: Cisco E3000 Printers: HP LaserJet 4 on desktop LPT1
HP Color LaserJet 2840 All-in-one on network
Then I want to add my new Lenovo T420 laptop (Win7 Pro SP1 x64) (I do have all machines in the same workgroup.
My iphone started resetting the connection every 2 minutes today. I noticed that the date maximum is Dec 31, 2012. My logs are getting messed up, and NTP isn't setting. Is there a firmware update for REV E3?? I'm at 5.10 right now.
I put in a bluetooth adapter today and now my onboard wired connection isn't working. I had to put in a wireless card. ipconfig /renew gives me an error that says "An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : The name specified in the Network Control Block (NCB) is in use on a remote adapter. The NCB is the data." I tried completely removing the network driver and then updating them, didn't work.I've removed all the bluetooth drivers I can find in the device manager, nothing changed. Troubleshooting and having it reset the adapter doesn't work. Only solution I can find is removing an extra dhcp reservation that might be there and I have no idea how to do that. It's like my computer thinks that bluetooth device is supposed to be my new wired connection or something.
This past weekend I went out of town and took my Windows 7 laptop with me -- since I returned home, it has been unable to connect to my wireless network. Other devices in my home connect to the network just fine, and the problem laptop has always been fine until now. My network card is an Atheros AR9285, and I'm attempting to connect to a Medialink router with WPA password protection and AES encryption. My wireless network icon in the task bar has a yellow sign with an exclamation point in it. It says "No Internet access."
reinstalled my windows 7 and it doesn't have the network adapter drivers,so i go and dowloand the drivers i install and it still says no drivers installed, and yes i got the right driver,i tryed everything just cant get it working
I run a certain program in my PC and I need to make its data available to an iPhone app.I would like to broadcast it over WIFI from the laptop. How can I set up a simple wifi network so the iPhone can connect as described?I was thinking of wireless router connected directly to the PC.
I have setup an ad hoc network on windows 7 and I have apache httpd server running.I can connect to the network and access apache index.html page using the ip address from my iPade.g. 169.254.111.111The windows computer name is test-pc and I have a virtual host setup in apache called mytestpc.comWhat do I need to do to access this from my iPad using http://test-pc or http://mytestpc.com
I've previously had a desktop and laptop both running XP and happily sharing on a network. I've upgraded the desktop to Windows 7 and now the network won't work properly. My XP machine can recognise the Windows 7 although access is denied when I try to go into the files (I have set the appropriate sharing settings on Windows 7).
So here's my situation: up untill last night myWireless Internet was working fine, I came home and it all of a sudden would only connect with limited access? SoNo Internet ect. I left it for the night and wentto sleep, then this morning i come to logon and it wont find networks at all, nothing comes up in network centre and it dosent seem to even be looking for networks?!
I have an old XP machine with many useful but obsolete programs and history.I have a new Win 7 HP (home premium) HP Slimline.I have a KVM switch allowing me to control each independently through one keyboard and mouse.I have several external drives, DVD drives and a wireless mouse hooked to the W7 by USB.Each computer is wireless connected to Internet via a Verizon MIFI2200 (essentially a G3 mobil phone).I have no other suitable optioons for internet available in my rural area.I ran the network setup wizard on the XP and saved a copy to thumb drive problems:
1. The W7 computer won't recognise the setup.
2. The XP doesn't show the network I set up although no errors showed up.
3. Win 7 has removed any wizard and other programs from HOME PREM for setup a network.
4. I attempted to set up the W7 manually but it refused too alllow both computers to independently use the MIFI2200.I find all hardware works fine the way I now have iit configured, but I want to move files from old to new PC and I need printer sharing until I get organized. I also need access to an external drive to backup files and general storage from both compputers.
I have Windows 7 running on my laptop and XP running on my desktop and I am trying to Network both PC's. I have carefully followed the instructions at the following site http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...dows-7-and-xp/ and Network discovery has been 'turned on' on my laptop but when I go to 'Network' on my laptop I cannot see the desktop XP PC. Is it first necessary for me to set up a login password for the desktop XP PC to see the PC on the Network, from the instructions I thought this was only necessary for the Network to remain enabled ie when PC's are restarted?
I have been using Windows 7 for about 3 hours, and I spent the whole time trying to set up a network. I have a HP Pavillion dv6 Notebook PC running Windows 7 SP1 and a old Compaq PC running Windows XP SP3. I am trying to network the two using a direct Ethernet connection. The HP Notebook connects to our family's wireless network. I'm trying to designate the HP Notebook as a gateway for the PC. I also want to activate File Sharing.
recently, I have been unable to connect to my network. When I attempt to, it tells me that windows cannot connect to hsusnet(my network name)when I try to troubleshoot, it resets my network adapted and tells me to turn my modem off and on.
I am trying to wirelessly network two computers. The main computer is running Windows 7; that's the computer which runs the show. The second computer is running XP. I tried to install the LLTD Download from Microsoft on the XP computer and it gives me an message telling me that "Setup has detected that the Service Pack version of this system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update". I also pinged the computers and they pinged but I still cannot get them successfully networked. What else should I try??
I am running Windows 7 on a Fujitsu d 9510 laptop. My laptop has stopped connecting to my router wirelessly, although it can detect it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my wireless lan driver. Curiously, when i configured my router to be open (No Security key required) it says limited access, and when i require it to ask me for security key it does not connect at all saying ' Windows could not connect to (name of network)'.
Last week my laptop would connect to the wifi just fine but just a couple of days ago when ever I try to connect it to the wifi it just gives me the "windows cannot connect to network" error message almost immediately. What really stumps me is that the three iPads (school provided) in my house and my sisters laptop all connect to the wifi but my laptop It may have something to do with the fact that I started a homegroup so I could print stuff from my laptop and that the password for the router was changed to something easy a couple of days ago by my sister to make it easier to connect from her iPad?
I'm staying with friends who have a router connected to their modem, which is connected to a computer.Three other computers connect remotely via wireless, including mine, which is the farthest from the connection. I have a so-so USB wireless that gets the job done, but isn't anything special. This morning I came home to find my connection was very laggy and spotty. I rebooted the modem and router, which reduced me to no internet connection at all. I removed the adapter, plugged it back in, then rebooted. Nothing. Since then, I've reinstalled the adapter's software twice, gone into safe mode and back out, have verified the USB port is working, and removed the device from device manager. And I've seen everything on my status from the yellow yield sign to the unplugged icon symbolizing no adapter period, even when the adapter is plugged in.All other computers have access but mine. Just before writing this, I remove the connection settings and reentered them. The connection asks me for the key, I put it in, and receive "Windows could not connect to <the network>. I receive that even if I intentionally put the key in wrong. No "key is incorrect" or "please reeneter" just "windows could not connect." My wireless adapter's settings verify that there is signal. There was a thunder storm today, and I'm mentioning it, but feel insofar as my computer is concerned, it may be a red herring.
I am at a complete loss. There's signal. The usb adapter's software has been reinstalled, and it's attempting to connect. I think the fact that it's not giving me any response about the key being incorrect may be the key to this solution, but I am at a loss.My friends insist that no changes have been made to the router or modem other than my resetting them.In the time between writing this and posting it, I unplugged my wireless adapter from the computer with the ailing connection, and went to another computer to continue researching. When I came back and plugged the adapter back in, it connected immediately for about 15 seconds and gave me just enough time to visit my home page (which updates regularly, so I know it wasn't a cache), then fizzled. Then the internet went to zero bars. I disconnected, reconnected, and got limited connectivity with the yield sign. I used the repair tool and got that orange "flame(?)" in front of the connectivity bars and hovering over it yielded "connections are available. Not connected." When I tried to connect again, I received the previous "Windows could not connect to <network>." Rebooted again and saw the yellow yield sign. Then red flame. Then windows cannot connect.
I have a windows xp pc that is running as a server that is networked with a windows 7 pc. Both are connected through a switch. Here is the diagram.
Both Pc's--->Switch--->Wired Router--->Wireless router/modem--->Phone line box.
I am running embarq high speed internet. I also have a network printer that follows the route as the pc's but has its own port.I used to have the 2 pc's networked to share a folder on the xp machine. Came in one day, and now the shared folder cannot be located by the Windows 7 machine. I have tried to run setup wizard for network over and over and cannot get any results. I can map the drive on the xp machine but it doesnt show up on the 7 machine, or I am just not able to locate it under my computers.
recently i bought a phone that has the ability to connect your pc to the internet. It has worked great, but when i connect my ps3 or another computer to my laptop which i use the phone with, they all come up as unidentified network. I tried changing the setting on my computer, but cant seem to figure out how to change it from unidentified to home, so i can use the internet on connected pc's and my ps3.
My home network was made up of a desktop running windows XP home (wired) and a desktop also running XP (wireless). I have recently added a desktop running Windows 7 (wireless) to the system. When I turn on the Windows 7 machine, it sees the other two machines and I use the files from them easily. But after the new machine has been on awhile, it does not see the other computers. (I can, however, still access the shared files on it (the Windows 7 machine) from the other desktop (haven't checked the laptop). If I power down the Windows 7 and then turn it back on, the other machines show up immediately. I've got them all named to the same workgroup and in the network settings in the control panel, I think that it is set to discover the network.
I have upgraded my existing computers from win2k to win7 except for 3 machines. My servers are running Win2003 server. When copying files through the network from server to backup, network is extremely slow. When I shut down win7 machines network flys.
I am in a network, where my laptop works in all other routers except my room's router, whereas other's laptop/PC supports my room's routerI'm out of the network. However, I'm now in same network, coin another router.
my wifes computer had to have a new hard drive installed an since it was fixed it will not network with my laptop in a private mode only public and my laptop now has a question mark then step down her old computer as the network path we are both windows 7 hers is hp and my laptop is toshiba satellite I can not get rid of the 2 networks from her computer or the question mark on mine
My friend cant connect to the web using a wired connection, I thought I would have a look since I have another laptop with XP, I tried many ways to get a connection, now ive noticed in Device Manager under Network Adapters, on my OS XP I have 1394 Net Adapter, Intel(R) PRO/Wireless and Realtek RTL ( Family Fast Ethernet). But on his OS (XP) he only has 1394 Net Adapter and Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter.Should he also have a Ethernet Adapter as well or am I missing something?
I have my wireless router that gives internet to all my computers (4), each one having their own usb wifi adaptor. This part works fine, never had any issue with internet. Each of the computers also have its own GBE adapter but i wasn't really using them. Until now, i bought a switch and connected all 4 computers through rj-45 to the switch just so i could transfer files easier and especially much faster than through the wireless. This is where my problem is, the network works, i can see and transfer files just fine, the issue being, on each and every computer, the lan is considered as unidentified public network. I've tried everything i could think of, yet, nothing, i can't change the status of the lan connection.
How do I fix my network so that my Windows 7 and XP computers automatically detect each other on the network. Right now, they cannot browse each other by computer name, instead I have to type their IP addresses (for example: \192.168.2.5) in the windows explorer address bar, and then I can browse to their shared folders. And under "Network" (in Windows Explorer) each computer only displays itself, and not the other (unless I have already typed in the other's IP address, in which case it displays the other computer as the IP address).
Three PC's all Win 7. Networking/Homegroup problem. In Network RV711 can see and access RC710 & Akoya. RC710 can see and access RV711 & Akoya. Akoya can see and access RV711. Akoya can see RV711 but not access RC710. Under Network Akoya can see RC710 but “You do not have permission to access...
In Homegroup. RV711 can see and access RC710 & Akoya. RC710 can see and access RV711 & Akoya. Akoya can see and access RV711. Akoya can see RC710 but not access RC710. Under Homegroup No other homegroup computers are available. In Homegroup the identical password is displayed on each PC. The Akoya is wired, the others are wireless. Summing up the Akoya cannot access the RC710.
When I click on Network under Places I can see Windows Network folder. When I click on the Windows Network folder it displays an error message of Unable to mount location...Failed to recieve share list from server.
I've used the windows 7 for 9 month. One day when I came back to office. It can still connect to internet through server 2000 but can't access the public drive P:. It seems windows 7 can't locate the P: Is it any way to correct.
windows 7 won''t go into DOS commands and having problems with network. Often does not get a Local Area Connection, no IP Config, DNS Server Config not responding
