I received the recovery CD's from Dell and reinstalled the operating system, But now I can't connect to the Internet and get the message that there is no network adapter. What do I do now? Do I need to use the Driver CD and reinstall also? [code]

I am running 32 bit windows 7 on my mac with boot camp. Normally, all is fine, but for some reason I can't connect to the internet on windows 7, but I can on my Mac OS on the same computer. I ran troubleshoot, but it says it can't find any problems. I was connecting to my home network yesterday, but I couldn't get on the internet, however now I'm just stuck connecting to "Identifying...". I installed a game yesterday, and I'm thinking that could be the problem, but I can't uninstall it because I can't connect to Steam. I tried system restore, but I get the error message 0x80070001, and if i choose to press run system restore anyway, I get the message "Catastrophic failure 0x8000ffff". Everything is plugged in.

HOWEVER, the new computer loses connection a lot and is mighty slow sometimes. It is not that far away from the other computer. on different levels but close. I thought I could make it wireless to my router using the Linksys Wireless USB adapter WUSB54GC USB Stick. It has installed with no problem and connects to the router with no problem but it will not connect to the internet. It just says internet cannot be found. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried so many settings I cant even remember where i left off but one general question, troubleshoot to the next step with the wga54g; sometimes the connection shows 'acquring address' but never connects. I've fiddled with things so that i can get the GA to acquire an address but the internet comes through. Also the GA never shows up on the client table. So is the fact that i can get a network address a good thing or doesn't that necessarily mean i'm 'connected' to the network. Its frustrating to have the G light lite up yet no connection also at one point I did get the GA to show up in the client table when it was directly connected to the linksys 1200 but when i walked into the room and attached it to the PC, no dice I've turned off all firewalls temporarily and the 1200 is set on wpa/wp2 mixed. when i tried setting it just to wpa i got a warning then I lost my internet. I had to reinstall the 1200 again.

My old network set up had been 100% wired, but with the new router we have converted to wireless on some of the internet capable devices. I have 2 pc's side by side in separate room from the router that we purchased wireless adapters for, the Linksys AE1000. One pc set up fine and accesses the internet with no issues. The second pc cannot connect the network. It sees the network with a good signal strength, but it times out when trying to connect.I called tech support and have been through a variety of things with them to no avail so far.Both of these pc's are running Windows XP SP3. On the one that won't connect, have already confirmed in device manager that the adapter is correctly installed. I uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled it anyway with no luck. With tech support already tried disabling the 5ghz band and changing the channel on the 2.4ghz band to 11.I have confirmed several times I am entering the password in correctly, and I did pay attention to case sensitivity.When I run ipconfig/all, it says under Media State: Media Disconnected.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded the installation data "R147095 Dell Wireless Printer Adaptor 3300 Installation Set-UP.exe". Saved that to a new CD and loaded it to my PC. I get through most of the setup wizard but always fail at the same point - The adapter will not connect to the network. All the usual checks are positive and the network key is correct and in the appropriate case. I have run Driver Detective and that confirms that the drivers for the adapter are up to date. The printer is not yet installed on the PC and the software for it has not been loaded.
I have tried this procedure again on a second PC where the printer had been used as a wired slave printer but have uninstalled the printer first. Same result - Adapter fails to connect to the network.
Router is a Billion Bipac 7800 n. I can get other "newer" devices to connect without problems but this "old" adaptor is proving stubborn.
I have a Windows 7 machine that is a client to an old SBS 2003 server. I don't use the server but once a month anymore because there is some old software that I need to keep on it. I also don't want to use the server for internet access anymore. I just use a wireless adapter on the client machine for internet connection. My problem is that I can either use my wireless adaptor for internet access or connect to my server. I can't do both at the same time (I get the "multiple networks red x") and no internet access.

After installing the drivers through the disc, I ended up getting he BSOD, and my PC just kept on restarting automatically. I fixed that problem, and found out that I should install the drivers for it through their website instead. So, after restarting my PC yet again, I tried using the Internet (Chrome) and found out that I have no Internet connection. Now, I am writing this on my iPad using the same router and modem that my PC is supposed to be using, but I keep on checking my WLAN adapter and it says that it is Not Connected.
