Is there or will there be a Windows 8 driver for the Dell 5540 mobile broadband HSPA card?Now that Windows 8 has RTM'd I was expecting a few more drivers to be released but this one currently doesn't work on my fairly new XPS.
Is there an alternative driver from the chipset manufacturer I can try? I'm happy to try out a beta driver if available.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to change providers from Verizon to AT&T. This modem came with the AT&T Sim card installed in my notebook. The software (Dell Mobile Broadband Utility Help) says " Choose Network Selection from the Settings Menu. Select AT&T and click Load." Unfortunately, Network selection is not an option.
How do I do it? This modem is compatible with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.
I have a XPS 15 (502x). It has the above adapter installed but when I insert my sim card it says no network available.
I use the same sim card in a USB modem and it works fine.
I have an XPS M1330 with an internal Dell Mobile Broadband Mini-card 5720 VZW for Verizon. The Dell Mobile Broadband Utility (DMBCU) now reports an APPCRASH upon launch only when Windows Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) is installed. I'm certain it is due to IE8 and probably the required MeadCo Zeepe add-ins that are required for dmbcu.exe functionality. Upon uninstallation of IE8, the dmbcu.exe works flawlessly.
Is there any update or plan to update the DMBCU for the 5720 VZW minicard?
I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD DELL STUDIm O 1747 (YEP IT WAYS A TON), AND AFTER I start up the ole computer and Icon comes on a bit later in the desktop tray that says "mobile broad band not found. I am quite sure it came with the Original Operating system (windows 7). and I have been considering reinstalling the operating system provided by Dell which I still have for Windows 7....Which is a hasslel the last resort...I tried doing a recovery on the system but I will be damed if I can remember the password even though the computer boots up and I get my display window every time..

I already download and install Wirless Mobile Broadband Drivers, both of them (5620 and 5540 mini card) i realy dont understand how to determine which of them installed in my laptop.
I currently have a 4 year old Dell XPS M1530 that recently died due to an rough impact. About to buy a new Dell XPS 15 and was wondering if I can easily swap my Sprint Mobile Broadband Card between the two. And if so would I only need to download a new driver for it? I am currently grandfathered in with Unlimited Data on my current card plan and I would hate to have to get a new one requiring a new contract with Limited Data.

I have installed it with no problems except for the WiFi: when I install the driver I get this message in the Device Manager Properties window and the WiFi radio does not work (Intel software says no devices exist):

Windows does not see the modem when I look for hardware. Dell says it is an on motherboard modem and it is an MDC 56K V.92 modem.
Dell wireless 365,370,380 Bluetooth module is the most common Bluetooth device that Dell uses. Broadcom has released their Bluetooth driver for Windows 8 PRO.....the Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 driver has support for a lot of Bluetooth devices and Dell Wireless 3XX Bluetooth module is in the support list.....But as Broadcom don't provide drivers directly to customers.... they give it to the system manufacturers like Dell, Lenovo, HP, etc. and the modify it for ease of their customers.so here is the Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 driver from Lenovo site which is running fine on Dell 365 Bluetooth device without any compatibility issue and also you can use Bluetooth Control Panel as you do in Windows 7?
I installed a clean Windows 8 Pro on my Vostro 3460 (HD was wiped beforhand).However, for the WLAN driver is not found.Here is what I did:
- I can confirm that the WLAN component is activated in BIOS. Actually, it worked just fine running Windows 7 until yesterday.
- After a clean Win8 install the missing component is enlisted as "Network Controller"
- Installing the "Dell Dell Wireless 1901 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Dell Wireless 1901 Bluetooth" driver from your website (Network_Atheros_W8_A00_Setup-92GWH_ZPE.exe) didn't change anything,, the device is still missing its driver and thus not working.
- I tried to install the drivers coming with the driver CD for Windows 7. No change.
- I tried to install almost any driver on your web site related with WLAN, Vostro 3460 and Windows 8: no success.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am unable to install the driver for my wireless device on my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop running Windows XP Professional. The laptop originally came with Windows Vista Basic edition. I have tried installing the driver for Windows XP from the original drivers CD that came with the laptop and also by downloading it from Dell's Web site. The driver program installs without giving an error, but after installation the device remains nonfunctional and the Device Manager shows no information about the wireless hardware.
My system spec's are as follows:
- Model: Dell Vostro 1500
- Operating System : Windows XP Professional
- Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz
- Main memory: 2 GB
- Video card : Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
