I have just ordered a Dell Wireless 5540 Utility. I would like instructions as to how I am to insert the card without voiding the warranty.

Is there an alternative driver from the chipset manufacturer I can try? I'm happy to try out a beta driver if available.

How do I do it? This modem is compatible with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.

I have upgraded from Win 7 to Win 8 recently at my new Dell PC.I have upgraded my PC Drivers and get the latest Win8 update on line.My ISP has came up with a latest version of 4G Connection Manager (software) to allow me to login to the Wireless Network.I am using a small pen like modem called Dongle.
The performance of the new Connection Manager is uncertain, sometime I can logon to the network easily after starting, but sometime I don't.The searching for the network only last for 3 seconds and could not proceed further to detect and connect to the network. The present sucessful rate is about 50%.
Here are portion of the event log for the device (Dongle)

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a XPS M1210 laptop running Windows XP. It has a Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Net adapter for wireless connection. Following a recent reinstall of windows XP, my wireless no longer works. The Intel Proset / Wireless software is controlling the wireless connection and it indicates that the wireless is turned off. It states that I should use the wireless On/Off switch to enable it. I can find no such switch to enable the wireless.
I have seen that the Fn + F2 combinaion should toggle the switch, but it does not work on my system. In the device manager, everything seems to be installed and working correctly. In Control Panel / Network Connections, the Intel Pro/Wireless is shown for the wireless Network Connection, but it is shown as not connected.how to turn on the adapter so that I can make a wireless connection?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two computers, one is a Dell Dimension 8300 while the other is a Compaq Presario Desktop. Both use Microsoft Windows XP OS 32 bit and are networked using a Microsoft Wireless G-Base Station MN-700 on the Dell and a Wireless G-Adapter on the Compaq. This arrangement worked quite well for some time and recently they stopped communicating with each other. I reset the base station as described in the manual. When I did the same for the Adapter I could not enter the correct Wireless Security Key. I tried copying the key from the Base to the adapter but to no avail. Do I have to uninstall both units from their respective computers and reinstall from the CD provided?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a Dell Studio 1747, i7, 8GB, etc.It has a DW1520 Wireless-N half-mini card.Yesterday I encountered a problem with my wireless adapter when it stopped recognizing my home network (wireless), although it did recognize other networks as the neighbors.I did every reasonable step while trying to restart the router, then disable and enable wireless, then restarted the laptop.Nothing worked and it could not recognize the network nor to connect to it as a hidden network. After taking a (not so good) advise from a friend, I cleared the wireless network list and then uninstalled the adapter from the device manager.I then restarted again and counted on the Windows 7 (home, 64 bit) to re-install the adapter.
Since then I'm experiencing bigger trouble when I probably missed a driver or a device.I tried to download and install the drivers for the adapter from Dell's size and got "R249128.exe", then installed it. Still no change.I cannot enable the wireless connection at all and when doing a diagnose to the "Wireless Network Connection" I get the message: "There might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter".Since I am clueless now, although I do plan to check with a Linux boot cd that the adapter is working.
i have a dell inspiron N5110 which has developed YET AGAIN another problem
The wireless doesnt pick up any networks and it says the wireless adaptor has been switched off.
PS i have checked wndows mobility centre and the wireless adaptor enable button is greyed out.
attempted to upgrade their wireless adapter? I know I can go buy a $40 fat USB adapter, but I would like to get dual band abilities without a USB adapter. I hate that I got an upgraded Inspiron 15R that did not have a dual band wireless adapter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently reinstalled XP but 8 yrs ago Dell forgot to give me a drivers/utilites disk (I got 2 for the monitor instead).I downloaded the ethernet driver from my other computer via USB, installed it and since I now had internet access, I was able to directly download the remaining drivers via my service tag Computer & all programs are running like new again, but I KNOW my 3000 had wireless before but under Device Manager/Network, it only shows an Intel PRO/100 VE (my original paperwork say Intel PRO/100M). I know it had wireless before - my ASUS router wasn't wired to the computer and internet access was great. I want to ditch the pesky cord again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having problems with connecting wirelessly with my laptop (Inspiron 1525). Suddenly it's only able to connect to the local network, but I have no internet access. When I've tried to diagnose the problem, it's given me the option to reset the network adapter, but that hasn't solved the problem. The person who started this thread seems to have similar issues - [URL], however, unlike him my drivers aren't missing. I tried downloading the Dell driver which applies to my WLAN card and reinstalling it anyway, but that didn't work. When I go to device manager, the device status claims that the device is working properly. I also did a system restore but the situation remains unchanged...I still can't connect to my wireless!
My computer is running Vista and prior to this happening I hadn't reinstalled or tried to change any settings, it just seems to have happened spontaneously.
