I have a Dell Inspiron 580S, running on W7 64-bits, with a Broad com Netlink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet adapter.
I am not being able to connect to the internet either via wireless nor wired network. I have updated the network and BIOS drivers to the latest versions as suggested here, but the problem still persists. Other computers connected to the same network via wireless connection do have internet access without issues.
I have a Dell Inspiron 560 desktop pc--running Windows Vista--and Clear mode internet connect to an integral Ethernet connection (built into computer) and I cant connect to internet. When I try to connect it says it cant find hardware. Device manager shows a ethernat with a Realtex RTL8168 PCI E and driver but with a yellow question mark.

When i tried to connect the Router cable directly to my DSL to my laptop the wifi works as well but when i unplug the router cable that connects to my laptop, the wifi shows same problem again with connection but no internet access. How did this happen coz i tried to use other device and it is connecting well. I even tried on my cellphone and it is fine too. But on my laptop it won't work anymore.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am currently in Thailand and I have been using dozens of different wifi connections around Australia and South-east Asia without a problem for the last year. I moved into a new place yesterday and when I tried to connect, it has the little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, over the wireless symbol on the taskbar. I tried the troubleshooter but it says turn the modem off an on, I don't think I can do this, I'll try and ask reception but I doubt they will let me.
No-one else at this place I am staying has had the same problem as me. The signal strength is "excellent", the wifi password is correct. I have windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron.
I am at my old place now, where the internet works. I downloaded the internet test thing from one of the stickies, I'll go and do that at my new place and post the results soon.
On the administrator side everything is fine, I can access the internet, my documents ect. We recently changed to AVG Virus protector
because with Windows Essentials had issues with a rogue Spyware Program saying we had viruses and wanted us to sign up
with some other people. So I have removed WE and now have AVG, the scan has run and it's all running well On my side of comp.
The problem is when I switch to my husband's side of the computer and click on the internet exp. the following message appears:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or fil. You may not the the appropriate permissions. We have Microsoft Windows XP
Home Ed. 2002 Serv. Pack 3. He can access documents, but anything associated with the internet, this message appears.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) on a Dell Inspiron 560. I am using a DI-524 D-Link wireless router. I have an Acer Aspire One Net Book running Windows XP Home it is equipped with an internal wireless network adapter. I can connect/communicate with router and access the internet with no problems whatever. However, when I connect an external wireless network adapter e.g. Alpha AWUS036H I cannot get a connection when I disable my internal network adapter. I have also tried the Trendnet TEW-424UB USB external wireless network adapter and the symptoms are exactly the same.

There is a red cross over a dial-up symbol where the wireless symbol used to be. And when I go on "change adapter settings" nothing is there. I tried to install the drivers on my Dell 1546 Inspiron (Windows 7 64-bit). [URL] I am stuck on step 4 (see link) as I'm unsure which one to download under networks. I think its the Realtek Driver (RTL8103EL-GR) and when I install it a message pops up "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable."
I have spent countless hours searching online attempting to fix this problem. I read in numerous posts if I remove the RAM and place it back in after 10 minutes it should solve the issue, but others have said it did not work for them. I am inexperience and rather not open-up and remove anything in-case of further problems.
I recently purchased 4 Inspiron 660 destkop with Windows 7 x64 Pro. When I plug them in to an ethernet connection, they are able to pull an IP address from DHCP but they do not connect to the internet. The network icon in the taskbar has a yellow exclamation point and has the message "No Internet Access" when I mouse-over it. I am trying to connect the computer in an office with a DHCP server. I have not joined the computer to the domain yet. I can plug any of my other computers into the same ethernet port and they will connect to the internet including other computers with the same OS and computers with XP SP3 or Vista. I have also had another tech connect the computer to other ethernet ports that we know work with other computers and the computers still cannot access the internet.
I have already tried the solution here: [URL] which advises you to uninstall the free McAfee software (which was already done or the computer didn't come with it) and uninstall a windows update which we did. The computers still do not connect to the internet. Are there any other possible solutions? These computers are straight out of the box and unaltered other than removing the software and update in the above link.
Could this have anything to do within the Atheros Smart Net software or the Intel Trusted Connect Service Client? I'm not familiar with this software or what it is supposed to do.
My computer is a inspiron 17r and is only a month old. for the last week or 2, it has been disconnecting from the internet while at home. The computer says it has an internet connection and is discoverable on the LAN, but will not connect to the internet for browsing, email or any other internet activity. I can restore the internet by rebooting the computer, or by rebooting the router and modem, or by deleting the network and re-establishing it through the network sharing center. Any of these will work, but somewhere between 1 minute and several hours, I will again lose the internet. I have several other computers and devices and none of them lose the internet so I know the router and the modem are fine. This also ONLY happens at home. I take the computer to work and connect with no problems and stay connected for 9 or 10 hours.
I have looked for answers and have tried ip release and winsock resets. these also work for a period of time but eventually fail as well.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 here, that we could not get to connect to the Internet, we'd only get "Local Only" both wired or wireless on any connections. After messing with it for a few hours decided best to just reformat and fix it that way. After a fresh reformat (Vista Home Premium) we get the exact same issue, with a clean install. All other computers connect with no issue, this one doesn't wireless or wired, just "local only"

Firstly, the wifi takes a lot of time to connect. Following, every 10 minutes I'm online, my network access stops working completely. But if I just CLICK on the network icon in the tool bar, it starts working again, but it stops in the next 10 minutes again, and so on. If I try to repair connectivity problems, it always find and fix some problem in the network adapter or wireless point, but then again, after 10 minutes or so, it happens again.My network adapter is a Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n 2.4ghz and I have tried to update it and to re-download the firmware, but nothing seems to fix it.
