View 3 RepliesI am currently in Thailand and I have been using dozens of different wifi connections around Australia and South-east Asia without a problem for the last year. I moved into a new place yesterday and when I tried to connect, it has the little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, over the wireless symbol on the taskbar. I tried the troubleshooter but it says turn the modem off an on, I don't think I can do this, I'll try and ask reception but I doubt they will let me.
No-one else at this place I am staying has had the same problem as me. The signal strength is "excellent", the wifi password is correct. I have windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron.
I am at my old place now, where the internet works. I downloaded the internet test thing from one of the stickies, I'll go and do that at my new place and post the results soon.
I have a new inspiron 537s with vista home.basic. I have to limit the connection to 10 mb, full duplex due to my buildings internet system. it would work great, but after about 15 minutes, I get a limited connectivity icon over the internet icon, and I can't go online at all.. The building IT person said to go to 10 mb half duplex, but then I get no internet.My older dim 2400 works great, with no interruptions.I don't want to change anything without knowing what I am doing. View 17 Replies View RelatedThis computer is brand new Dell Inspiron 15R. The WIFI is dropping out repeatedly. I connect for ~10 minutes, but then the connection gets a yellow exclamation point for limited connectivity, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router. I read the sticky but there wasn't a post for the 2230 network card.
The problem happened on windows 7 and now on windows 8. Rebooting the computer doesn't work. I tried the POWER SAVE trick and it didn't work. I tried the maximum roaming trick, and that didn't work either. The network card is the Centrino Wireless-N 2230 with the 15.5.6.48 drivers.
I can connect to the Verizon Wireless router or tether off my DROID X2 for about ten minutes, sometimes for longer, but either way, the connection is dropped, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router.
I am having trouble with a Vista Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop that says it is connected to my Linksys router, but has limited connectivity. It's this way with both a wired and wireless connection. I have 4 other computers in the house that all connect with no problems. The Dell laptop connects in safe mode, but won't connect when in normal mode

I recently took my Dell Inspiron1545 out of sleep mode and my wireless internet connection no longer works.i have tried power cycling the 2-wire modem and the Cisco Valet router and resetting as well. I also have another laptop and xbox that use this network and are having NO issues in connecting and working perfectly fine.
The only device not working is the Dell laptop. I've tried removing the network profile, uninstalling the wifi driver and reinstalling after powercycling the computer and still nothing but limited connectivity only The WLAN utility has stated that the "Gateway IP Ping" has failed Now the laptop will connect to internet via LAN cable however will not to WiFi

This afternoon the computer crashed. It restarted normally, however will not connect to the internet. Upon start up, icon states it is connected but will not connect to the internet. When attmpting to Repair connection, Windows is then unable to fix the problem. All other devices work normally on the home network (Laptop, Xbox360).
I have also tried 3 different Restore points, but Windows states it is unable to restore to this point and to select another Restore point on each attempt.

When I start my laptop, it acquires the internet connection fine, whether wireless or the wired connection.However on the wired connection, if I unplug the cable and replug it, it does not get the connection. It shows Limited connectivity or no connection. If I try to repair, it says , the IP address could not be renewed. Nothing works but restarting the laptop.Same is the case with wireless connection at home. The first time it catches the wireless fine. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing quite a bit of wireless problems with my Inspiron 17R SE. Only about half the time can I connect to my router and even then it only stays connected for a couple hours. It seems intermittent and the problem will go away for a week or so, but right now it is back in full force. Typically it will either connect and say that there is limited connectivity or it won't connect at all. Resetting the adapter via the Windows 7 troubleshooter only fixes it about half the time.
The thing is that the wireless and everything else works just fine on my Ubuntu partition, which makes me think that my driver is a bit wonky. I have tried downloading the one directly from Dell, and that has come to no avail. I have even tried using the Dell software support suite, and that hasn't found anything wrong either.
I recently added a new laptop to my network and it will only connect wirelessly for short periods of time and then it says limited connectivity. I had this problem with the old laptop and got it fixed but it was running windows xp and this one runs windows 7.

Firstly, the wifi takes a lot of time to connect. Following, every 10 minutes I'm online, my network access stops working completely. I still have my old laptop, and on that one I simply open the laptop and it's connected. This new one, I have found that I MUST put it to sleep before closing, and upon "waking" it back up, I may or may not be connected to the wi-fi upon restart. A little "caution" symbol will appear over the wi-fi indicator, and it say that I am connected to my network, but no internet connection. Sometimes I can disconnect and reconnect, but sometimes I have to put my computer to sleep and start over again.what I need to do to have consistent connectivity?

Recently, my wireless internet function has not been working on my Inspiron E1405 computer that I purchased in June 2006. The Intel Proset/Wireless shows the networks in range, and then is unable to connect. I don't think it is a security issue because I have been able to access those networks in the past, as recently as last week. I think maybe one of my drives or programs got uninstalled, but I'm clueless how to fix it.

After suffering for a day or so with a painfully slow wireless connection (the status showed the signal was "excellent" but the speed of downloads or loading web pages was dreadful; meanwhile my older Inspiron Mini in roughly the same location blazes along and has for years with no problems), I decided to try just going with a wired connection. This fixed the speed issue to say the least, but now the connection drops for a few seconds every five minutes or so, then immediately reconnects. If I were just web-surfing, it wouldn't impact me all that much, but the activities I enjoy, like playing games online and streaming music, require a signal that doesn't keep cutting out. I've tried updating the drivers, but I'm told I have the most up-to-date drivers. I've tried unchecking the power-saving options and I've tried unchecking IPv6 and just about every other solution I've come across in my web searches, but nothing works. When I get home from work this evening I may try uninstalling and reinstalling the device drivers. Barring that, I may just go pick up a USB wireless adapter-- I used a cheap Belkin one in the same location on an old Dimension desktop years ago and it worked great-- and see if that works.

McAffee has been uninstalled and Avast put on instead, but still it is the same - it works fine when the lead is plugged in from the router - on Speedtest it shows download speed 3.13. On wireless at home it works, just, but speed is reduced to 0.49 even though I'm sitting right next to the router. Bring it to work and it can't see the internet to connect to it

Connectivity has been intermittent the last few months and now none at all. Laptop can see the router but can't connect. Tried connecting via hard-wire to the router but no connectivity 2) tried downloading a driver update but resulted in a message saying "software can't be installed hardware doesn't exist". Check of the adapter through the device manager shows "device is working properly". Have two other dells on the same router and neither have any connectivity issues.

My wife's one-year old laptop computer (Dell Inspiron 5010) worked fine until this week when it suddenly lost connectivity and I can't get it back on-line. My laptop still works fine. I first ensured that the wireless function is on. I then clicked on the connectivity icon which shows "No connections available". It also won't show me any available wireless conection options. Under the "Open Network and Sharing Center" link, I've tried the "Set up a new connection of network" and "Connect to the internet". Under "How do you want to connect?" it only gives me "Dial-Up" as an option initially and adds "Broadband" when I choose "Show options the computer is not set up to use". When I choose broadband, and enter my user name and password, I get a message that "The wizard cannot create the connection". I also went to Control Panel, Internet Properties, Connections, Set-Up, and it takes me back to the same "Connect to the Internet window mentioned above with the same issues. I'm seeing some weird behavior trying to connect my Windows XP SP3 desktop via a USB wireless to my Windows network via Linksys WRT120N Router. It is unable to connect with DHCP. "Limited or No Connectivity" is shown on the network icon and no internet connectivity is present. When i manually assign a static IP, i am able to get connectivity to browse the internet, and I am able to ping the other computers in my network, but I am unable to view the windows workgroup. I am able to manually map network drives, but those drop continually. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the connectivity and the dropping while I am using the static IP. DHCP does not work at all. I'm just trying to get this computer connected to the windows workgroup so that I can map network drives and printers once and for all. Right now the rest of the network (ethernet cabled to router) works fine. I'm thinking it may be something in the routers wireless config, as I am having the same issues (DHCP not working at all, static IP working but constantly dropping) with a Mac laptop.
