I just bought a Dell Latitude D620, Win. XP, wireless and have been getting "limited or no connectivity" message when trying to connect wirelessly. Belkin G router. I cannot download anything cause I cannot get connected.

When I start my laptop, it acquires the internet connection fine, whether wireless or the wired connection.However on the wired connection, if I unplug the cable and replug it, it does not get the connection. It shows Limited connectivity or no connection. If I try to repair, it says , the IP address could not be renewed. Nothing works but restarting the laptop.Same is the case with wireless connection at home. The first time it catches the wireless fine. However if the system gets locked because of inactivity, and I unlock it, I am left with LIMITED CONNECTIVITY or NO CONNECTION message on the Wireless. I need to restart my comp because the repair or the disable and enable of WLAN does not facilitate.

Use the wireless ON/OFF switch to enable it" i have tried the Fn+F2 and just F2. I also tried looking for Quickset and I cannot find that either. Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN MiniCard
Dell (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
When I try to install the first one I got the failure message "BASS_REL_5_6 456".I am able to install the second one, but I still got the message, that the WIFI-/LAN-Hardware is uninstalled. Therefore I still can't access to the internet with this computer.
I have an old Dell Latitude D620 and have Just upgrade my wireless deal with BT to Infinity with a new BTHomeHub3.0. The Dell will connect to the internet and I can see it's working because some of my programs can use the internet to function but when I try to use the internet it just stops loading at 5 bars on IE but then stops. I have tried a system restore but this has not done anything and tried a different browser but the same thing has happend.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have Dell Latitude D620 and bought it refurbished, I did NOT recieve a backup drivers and utilities disk with the laptop. The computer worked fine for about a year I had no problems accessing the Internet at all. Then it crashed and I had to reinstall Windows XP. After reinstalling Windows XP it will not connect to the Internet at all. Even with the ethernet cord directly to the modem. Since it will not connect to the internet I can not do a diagonostics to see what driver it needs. I have tried downloading a few onto my other laptop and then use flash drive to install it on the Dell but have not had any luck with finding the correct driver. I am not that computer savvy and do not know what type of wireless card I even have.

I use my wireless for my internet connection, and want to allow other computers (on the wired network) to share my wireless internet connection. The problem is that all forums I have found merely say "click the enable connection sharing checkbox". This does not work, as that option is not available on my wireless conn. It is available on the wired conn. I also received a message saying that the connection wizard can only be run as network administrator. I have a home network...I am all the administrators. I am using Intel PROSet/Wireless for my wireless connection.

Everything is working now except the WiFi does not get on the web. I have a strong signal, and it says Connected, but also says "Limited Connectivity". Another laptop works fine on this same wireless router, so I know it is a problem with the machine. This afternoon the computer crashed. It restarted normally, however will not connect to the internet. Upon start up, icon states it is connected but will not connect to the internet. When attmpting to Repair connection, Windows is then unable to fix the problem. All other devices work normally on the home network (Laptop, Xbox360).
I have also tried 3 different Restore points, but Windows states it is unable to restore to this point and to select another Restore point on each attempt.

I am currently in Thailand and I have been using dozens of different wifi connections around Australia and South-east Asia without a problem for the last year. I moved into a new place yesterday and when I tried to connect, it has the little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, over the wireless symbol on the taskbar. I tried the troubleshooter but it says turn the modem off an on, I don't think I can do this, I'll try and ask reception but I doubt they will let me.
No-one else at this place I am staying has had the same problem as me. The signal strength is "excellent", the wifi password is correct. I have windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron.
I am at my old place now, where the internet works. I downloaded the internet test thing from one of the stickies, I'll go and do that at my new place and post the results soon.
I have a new inspiron 537s with vista home.basic. I have to limit the connection to 10 mb, full duplex due to my buildings internet system. it would work great, but after about 15 minutes, I get a limited connectivity icon over the internet icon, and I can't go online at all.. The building IT person said to go to 10 mb half duplex, but then I get no internet.My older dim 2400 works great, with no interruptions.I don't want to change anything without knowing what I am doing. View 3 Replies View Relatedi was poking around steam when i lost connection to the network, when it came back it was limited connectivity. now its 3 days later and i've been trying everything i can think of to make my wireless card work again from recovery to reinstalling drivers. all the troubleshooting can say is it might be the drivers, still might be for all i know but those didn't seem to work like i said. is there a chance im just being blocked by the network? its one big public network thats shared by the whole base.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis computer is brand new Dell Inspiron 15R. The WIFI is dropping out repeatedly. I connect for ~10 minutes, but then the connection gets a yellow exclamation point for limited connectivity, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router. I read the sticky but there wasn't a post for the 2230 network card.
The problem happened on windows 7 and now on windows 8. Rebooting the computer doesn't work. I tried the POWER SAVE trick and it didn't work. I tried the maximum roaming trick, and that didn't work either. The network card is the Centrino Wireless-N 2230 with the 15.5.6.48 drivers.
I can connect to the Verizon Wireless router or tether off my DROID X2 for about ten minutes, sometimes for longer, but either way, the connection is dropped, and I can't reconnect until rebooting the router.

The unit can not see the router right next to it and the wifi can see several other routers in the area. We tryed to use the microsoft install wifi driver with the same problem! My question is can the router be blocking my laptop out? Laptopis a G device and the router is an N device but works with another laptop in the house.
The difference could be the incription used laptop uses 128 and the router is set to 64?
I have a Belkin G Wireless router and I have a Acer Aspire 5738Z and I have no problem linking up to the router. The card is correctly installed (w/ 3 antennas) and the driver installed correctly but there seems to be a conflict with Dell Quickset utility which gives the error "WiFi Catcher band is not compatible". Tried uninstalling the Dell Quickset, but not sure it completely removed everything. Installed Intel PROset/Wireless but still unable to connect. Could not find a Quick set version for Win7 - from what I have read, it seems the Vista version is noted that it does not support 4965agn.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get my local MAC address changed for Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx adapter in D620 running winXP. Based on Broadcom advice this should be pretty straightforward.In Microsoft Windows, right-click the Network Adapter in Network Connections and then click Properties. Click the Configure button and then the General tab. Configure the "Locally Administered Address" parameter by assigning a unique node address for the adapter. Netware: The Mac Address is configured by the adding Node=XXXXXXXXXXXX parameter to driver load command line in the AUTOEXEC.NCF file, where XXXXXXXXXXXX is the Locally Administered address.
However after clicking "configure" in "general" tab I see only "Driver Details, Update Driver, Roll Back Driver, Uninstall" buttons, on "advanced" tab I see "802.1p QOS", "Flow Control" "Speed and Duplex" and "Wake up Capabilities", however I CAN'T see "Locally Administered Address".I've tried :
- reinstalling drivers, at the moment using latest from Broadcom, from 2006-12-15
- reinstalling Dell's drivers
- installing Broadcom's Control suite
Wireless card is Dell Wirele4ss 1490 Dual Band WLAN Mini-Card
Each time I try to launch the Dell WLAN Utility I get a message:
"Internal configuration is inconsistent. Please restart the machine to resolve the problem."
Restarting does not solve the problem.
The wireless card connects fine with Windows managing the connection. But what about the Dell Utility? What can be done so it will launch and I can let it manage the wireless connections?
I have reinstalled the Driver and utility using R115319.EXE
I have been having some gripes with the above problem for the past few days, connecting several PCs in my office into a network. To cut a long story short, it's a bunch of XP SP2 and SP3 machines with only some of them having these issues. The network consists of two switches and one router with integrated modem and wireless. Internet access is established over that router/ ADSL modem.I have drawn out all the cabling and made all the connections myself, I don't doubt network related hardware one bit. Basically, I had the problem on two PCs, I tested connectivity on that cable with a laptop which didn't have any problems connecting to the network. I need to add a new pc to the network and here is where the problem starts.I have a cable from a HUB in that office which has a splitter 1 way goes to a PC the other is empty. At first i tried connecting the other PC from that splitter but i get the Limited or no Connectivity message on both PCs. If i connect only one of them to the splitter the connection works fine.Now i tried with a HUB, made a Crossover cable from the splitter to the HUB in the WAN port, same deal both PCs get Limited ot no Connectivity. THe strange thing is that if i connect only one via the HUB the same thing happens.I am really out of ideas, my only option left is to connect the PC from the main HUB which means allot of cable posing.
