Wireless card is Dell Wirele4ss 1490 Dual Band WLAN Mini-Card
Each time I try to launch the Dell WLAN Utility I get a message:
"Internal configuration is inconsistent. Please restart the machine to resolve the problem."
Restarting does not solve the problem.
The wireless card connects fine with Windows managing the connection. But what about the Dell Utility? What can be done so it will launch and I can let it manage the wireless connections?
I have reinstalled the Driver and utility using R115319.EXE
Upgraded my D620 WLAN card from original 3965abg to 4965agn for wireless-n support. The card is correctly installed (w/ 3 antennas) and the driver installed correctly but there seems to be a conflict with Dell Quickset utility which gives the error "WiFi Catcher band is not compatible". Tried uninstalling the Dell Quickset, but not sure it completely removed everything. Installed Intel PROset/Wireless but still unable to connect. Could not find a Quick set version for Win7 - from what I have read, it seems the Vista version is noted that it does not support 4965agn.
I'm trying to get my wireless turned back on after using an Ethernet connection at work. It's a Latitude E5400. The message I'm getting is that the DW WLAN Card is still disabled and to use the DW WLAN Utility to enable it. There is no icon in my notification area and I cannot seem to locate this "Utility". I'm assuming I'm missing a driver.
I have a Inspiron 9400/E1705 laptop with the Dell Wireless 1500 802.11n WLan card when I try to use the utility I get an error message that the internal settings are bad and to restart the computer to fix. It does not fix this. I am currently using the windows wireless to control the card. Is there a way to fix this, It used to work fine just when I downloaded the R151519 update now even when I use a previous update I still get this error. The driver is Broadcom dated 10/12/2006 version 4.100.15.5
Laptop D800 with WLAN 1350 mini PCI wireless adapter The wlan 1350 was working fine until I updated the wlan drive to ver 4 and the new wlan utility In our office we have about 27 D800 and we need to use a specific mac address in order to access the network with ver 3 I was able to change the mac address from the registry or using a 3rd party utility ie smac 2.0 without any problem now after I updated the wlan 1350 driver and the wlan utility the minute we change the mac address we get windows error – wlan error and must be close etc I narrow down the problem to the waln utility if I unistall the utility no more error.
I have accidentally uninstalled the WLAN utility card. I tried reinstalling it via dell downloads but windows says that it is not compatible. I have lost my wireless connectivity to the internet on my inspiron 5520 laptop and need it back as soon as possible. Do you have this driver which is compatible with win 8?
My wireless card is Dell Wireless 1704 card (802.11n + BT 4.0)
I have a DELL Studio 17, with a DW1520 Wireless N WLAN half mini card. Whenever I go to the control panel utility, it tells me there are no wireless adapters, yet, the very fact I have this post up shows I am connected to the Internet. I have wanted to specify a specify local lan IP address but I cannot access the utility... yet the device manager tells me its running ok. However, downloading the utility from DELL, it tells me that there are no compatible devices.
I have a Dell XPS 17 and I am having trouble with the wi-fi. It always connects and works, but is very inconsistent. It will speed up and slow down for no apparent reason. I ran a speed test and it will go from 40mbps to 2mbps. This does not happen on any other device connected to the wireless in the house. It does not happen when the laptop is connected directly. I also purchased a USB wireless adapter and do not have any problems when connecting wirelessly that way.A new modem and router have not changed the problem.I am 100% sure it is the wireless receiver in the laptop itself.
I have a laptop just configured with XP SP3 and the wifi works fine, except at the users house on a linksys router, hosted by comcast. The unit can not see the router right next to it and the wifi can see several other routers in the area. We tryed to use the microsoft install wifi driver with the same problem! My question is can the router be blocking my laptop out? Laptopis a G device and the router is an N device but works with another laptop in the house.
The difference could be the incription used laptop uses 128 and the router is set to 64?
I just bought a Dell Latitude D620, Win. XP, wireless and have been getting "limited or no connectivity" message when trying to connect wirelessly. Belkin G router. I cannot download anything cause I cannot get connected.
My company just bough me another Dell Latitude 6530 with Dell wireless 1540 half card previously I am using Dell Latitude 6520 with Intel Centrino Ultimate N 6300 without any problem
but this new Dell 6530 wifi connection is pretty slow and inconsistent -- I may got burst of high speed / performance for few seconds but pretty much all time is slow.I ran both the old 6520 and new 6530 side by side as I am transferring file and downloading new software, so I can tell for sure that this new 6530 has some issues.
1. Update the drivers for Dell wireless 1540 using this link [URL]
2. Set the power management to high performance, disable power management for the wireless card as well
3. Turn off "Allow computer to save power" in the wireless card adapter settings
My main computer is an apple mac and it is connected to the internet via a sky router. I have two lap tops one connects to the wirless network this one a dell latitude d620 does not. The icon in bottom right corner states wireless connection not connected but i have tried everything but it just wont connect. I can connect by using a local area connection by connecting the lap top to my router?
I have a Belkin G Wireless router and I have a Acer Aspire 5738Z and I have no problem linking up to the router. My husband has an old Dell Latitude D620 and when I try to open up his laptop and connec it to the router it doesn't connect and the message I get is Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you onto the network loobi's.
When i try to enter my wep password on a dell latitude d620, it only allows me to enter 8 numbers. The length of my password is 16 characters, consisting of letters and numbers. How can I enter my password?
My son was using the computer early today and I got back on and could not get on the internet.Says "Wireless is turned off. Use the wireless ON/OFF switch to enable it" i have tried the Fn+F2 and just F2. I also tried looking for Quickset and I cannot find that either. Saw similar problems looking through other forums but I don't understand much about computers and can't quite figure out what the solutions are. I have a Latitude D620.
I have a Dell Latitude D620 and my wireless isn't working. It worked before but then I had a malware/spyware on my computer that blocked my wifi and when I managed to get the program off, my wifi still wouldn't connect. It's not the wireless card because I bought an external one and it did the same thing. It's not my router because my other computer connects to the internet.
When I try to install the first one I got the failure message "BASS_REL_5_6 456".I am able to install the second one, but I still got the message, that the WIFI-/LAN-Hardware is uninstalled. Therefore I still can't access to the internet with this computer.
I have an old Dell Latitude D620 and have Just upgrade my wireless deal with BT to Infinity with a new BTHomeHub3.0. The Dell will connect to the internet and I can see it's working because some of my programs can use the internet to function but when I try to use the internet it just stops loading at 5 bars on IE but then stops. I have tried a system restore but this has not done anything and tried a different browser but the same thing has happend.
I have Dell Latitude D620 and bought it refurbished, I did NOT recieve a backup drivers and utilities disk with the laptop. The computer worked fine for about a year I had no problems accessing the Internet at all. Then it crashed and I had to reinstall Windows XP. After reinstalling Windows XP it will not connect to the Internet at all. Even with the ethernet cord directly to the modem. Since it will not connect to the internet I can not do a diagonostics to see what driver it needs. I have tried downloading a few onto my other laptop and then use flash drive to install it on the Dell but have not had any luck with finding the correct driver. I am not that computer savvy and do not know what type of wireless card I even have.
I'm trying to get my local MAC address changed for Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx adapter in D620 running winXP. Based on Broadcom advice this should be pretty straightforward. In Microsoft Windows, right-click the Network Adapter in Network Connections and then click Properties. Click the Configure button and then the General tab. Configure the "Locally Administered Address" parameter by assigning a unique node address for the adapter. Netware: The Mac Address is configured by the adding Node=XXXXXXXXXXXX parameter to driver load command line in the AUTOEXEC.NCF file, where XXXXXXXXXXXX is the Locally Administered address.
However after clicking "configure" in "general" tab I see only "Driver Details, Update Driver, Roll Back Driver, Uninstall" buttons, on "advanced" tab I see "802.1p QOS", "Flow Control" "Speed and Duplex" and "Wake up Capabilities", however I CAN'T see "Locally Administered Address".I've tried :
- reinstalling drivers, at the moment using latest from Broadcom, from 2006-12-15 - reinstalling Dell's drivers - installing Broadcom's Control suite
I need to confure 3 ESW-520, 2 24 ports and 1 48 ports, connected in etherlink on the same vlan. One of the 24 ports and the 48 ports works perfectly, the other 24 ports it working, i can use it as a flat switch, i can also access from the console, but i can't access from the http configuration utility. I upgrade the firmware, and set the vlan 1, the one i'm using as the only management, but i can't access ti the default ip 192.168.10.2. It's the switch broken or i'm making some error?
I have a WAP4410N and I got the internet working nicely, but I can't access the web-based configuration utility. The manual says the address is 192.168.1.245, but Firefox (and other browsers) can't open it. I have tried pressing the reset button, but that did not solve the issue.
You mentioned a "Notebook System Utility." The download page lists the models it is for. My Dell Inspiron N5110 is not listed. Do you think I maybe need this and they forgot to list some models? Should I not try it?
Recently I've noticed that Intel My WIFI Utility is not starting up after reboot. I reinstalled WLAN drivers (downloaded the newest version from support.dell.com) but the problem persists. Is there any way to start it manually?I'm using Dell XPS l502x, Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1030, Windows 7 x64.
We have 3 WAP4410N on our network. Our laptops pick them up but I cannot access the configuration Utility or ping the default IP address. If their IP addresses have been changed how do I find out what their current IP adds are? We currently use static IP addressing for our network.
I have an XPS M1330 with an internal Dell Mobile Broadband Mini-card 5720 VZW for Verizon. The Dell Mobile Broadband Utility (DMBCU) now reports an APPCRASH upon launch only when Windows Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) is installed. I'm certain it is due to IE8 and probably the required MeadCo Zeepe add-ins that are required for dmbcu.exe functionality. Upon uninstallation of IE8, the dmbcu.exe works flawlessly.
Is there any update or plan to update the DMBCU for the 5720 VZW minicard?
I am experiencing one, possibly two problems with the X3000, firmware release v1.0.03:
1. When enabling guest mode, the internal network is not accessible via WLAN even for clients NOT connected via guest mode but regularly: Even non-guests but regularly connected clients can't access any internal IP but the router itself. netscan shows only the very client's IP and the router's. Only after switching guest mode entirely off, regularly connected clients can access interal IP again. netscan correctly shows the whole network. Obviously a firmware bug. BTW: Clients connected via cable do not experience this problems.
2. I am not sure about this, but after using the firmware built in "Reboot" button, the router reboots correctly. But for some reason, it is instable afterwards. It is operational for a few seconds but then reboots again. It keeps cycling. I could stop it by switching the router off and on again.
