I'm trying to get my wireless turned back on after using an Ethernet connection at work. It's a Latitude E5400. The message I'm getting is that the DW WLAN Card is still disabled and to use the DW WLAN Utility to enable it. There is no icon in my notification area and I cannot seem to locate this "Utility". I'm assuming I'm missing a driver.

I installed Win7 and now I cannot locate a 3G/WWAN software (the drivers are working fine, but I just cannot find the software that allows me to connect with the Vodafone 3G/WWAN network). I am using the "Dell Mobile Broadband Card Utility" software on my D830 (5520 card; also on Win7), but I cannot find that software or its successor for the 5530 card.

It does not fix this. I am currently using the windows wireless to control the card. Is there a way to fix this, It used to work fine just when I downloaded the R151519 update now even when I use a previous update I still get this error. The driver is Broadcom dated 10/12/2006 version 4.100.15.5

Each time I try to launch the Dell WLAN Utility I get a message:
"Internal configuration is inconsistent. Please restart the machine to resolve the problem."
Restarting does not solve the problem.
The wireless card connects fine with Windows managing the connection. But what about the Dell Utility? What can be done so it will launch and I can let it manage the wireless connections?
I have reinstalled the Driver and utility using R115319.EXE
I have a DELL Studio 17, with a DW1520 Wireless N WLAN half mini card. Whenever I go to the control panel utility, it tells me there are no wireless adapters, yet, the very fact I have this post up shows I am connected to the Internet. I have wanted to specify a specify local lan IP address but I cannot access the utility... yet the device manager tells me its running ok. However, downloading the utility from DELL, it tells me that there are no compatible devices.

Everything is working now except the WiFi does not get on the web. I have a strong signal, and it says Connected, but also says "Limited Connectivity". Another laptop works fine on this same wireless router, so I know it is a problem with the machine. And I am still not able to install Dell Wireless WLAN 1397/1501/1520 Half MiniCard Driver - in the download section it is only update package? I have installed all the drivers per instructions except that the device manager indicated one ethernet controller (Wireless 1395 WLAN MiniCard) is not found. I ran the desired driver R242906 but it begins and then states that hardware is not found and stops. I have tried some of the older drivers as well but still have had the same result.
Prior to redoing the OS is was Windows Vista Pro but kept crashing so went back to XP. The wireless card worked then.

My wireless has been working successfully for the past 2 years no problems till now. I have a Dell Latitude E6410 my computer is running Windows 7 32bit. When I open up the DW WLAN Card Utility it says "There are currently no wireless adapters available and enabled. Please enable any available wireless adapters before accessing this configuration utility. I tried reinstalling drivers for the wireless but my computer says "no compatible hardware found".
Also the under the wireless adapters section of Device Manager there isn't an adapter for wireless, but there is an unknown device.

So I now either need to:get the updates to work properly Remove the updates and get back to a working condition if you wonder why I applied the updates...why repair something that's already working...I have had Bluetooth sporadic connection issues with this laptop with a BT GPS unit. The same BT GPS unit works perfectly on a D610 but on this D600 after initial connection there can be repeated connection loss requring the BT GPS unit to be moved around, after which BT connection is re-established only to fail a while later. As the same GPS works without problem with the D610 my presumption has been the issue is a BT stack issue on the D600 BT implementation.

Lights are on on port plug.I can see the network, when I run troubleshooter on the Proset/Wireless Wifi Connection utility It says the wireless adaptor failed to get IP address and could be due to authentication failure with the network, incorrect wireless security passwords or because of DHCP server malfunction.I did the passwords, checked the router, all is ok there. My new computer works fine on this wireless network as well as my wired desktop. I suspect this happened as a result of a security change that windows XP or whatever security soft ware that's in there did, but cannot figure out how to undo or reset this.

All my internet devices (Laptops, PS3, iPad etc.) have been able to acess the new network but my old Dell XPS 600 with its Dell 1450 wireless card cannot "see" the new network. I just got an Inspiron 1520 for Christmas. So I have only been using it a few days. The first day I set up the internet connection I had no problem but now when my computer goes into sleep mode or hibernate mode I lose internet connection and it won't reconnect. It will seach for a network, then say that I have limited access or the network is unidentified. I have to either disconnect from the network and reconnect and sometimes I even have to restart the laptop to get the connection back. I have the Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN mini card.

I have an Dell Inspiron 1520.
I recently installed Connectifyme (Connectify for Windows - Turn your Laptop or Smartphone into a Secure Wi-Fi Hotspot) so that I could broadcast a wifi signal for my phone. Testing at home, I used it to repeat my router and connect through my computer. But when I took the laptop to the place at which I primarily need the utility (I have access to ethernet but no wifi), and used it to broadcast an unprotected ad-hoc ethernet->wireless network. Since using it in this way, my laptop has been unable to locate my home router, or my college's public wifi, though it is able to locate networks which either I am unable to connect to, or do not supply wifi internet. I tried making a ticke on connectifyme's support page, but after something like a week I've yet to get a reply. Uninstalling connectify did nothing, nor have I been able to find any issues with the network card or windows not recognizing the card. I'll be using windows 7 default utility to see how that works, but I first need to be able to reconnect to networks I know are in range.

And Its working fine most of the time but my problem or question is this, I play the WII online and its wireless through the router.I have a friend that is local in my town and we try to play online and it will never let us team up, and if we try it never lets us assign a host. I can play otherwise when i connect and search for a game in progress but if I send him an invite it will not let us team up and either host a game or join a game.

I am unable to locate my wireless adapter on IBM Thinkpad R50 after I had to re-install Windows XP. It was not the cd that goes to the laptop, as I did not have one because I bought the laptop used. I went to the Lenovo website and have installed just about every driver on support page and still NOTHING.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI currently have an E1000 router set up on a 2006 Dell PC as main hub of a network that includes kids' 2003 Dell PC (with a Cisco Connect USB receiver plugged in because it has no wireless capabilities) and wife's Dell laptop. We're about to change main desktop computer to an iMac (2011 refurb, won't be running Lion which I know there's issues with as far as Cisco Connect), give the 2006 Dell to kids and get rid of the old 2003 box. I cannot locate my installation CD, I'm sure it's somewhere in our rather cluttered computer area, although I understand I can download what I need. This probably is a dufus question, and I apologize in advance, it's just not clicking in my mind, but basically am I going to have to go back to step one, just like the first day I set up the router, as far as setting up our network?

FYI...I do have the card working using the Cisco's Airnet Utility but my work requires us to use the Dell utility for security purposes.
Also, when I view the wireless utility it says No Adapters on the tab.
You mentioned a "Notebook System Utility." The download page lists the models it is for. My Dell Inspiron N5110 is not listed. Do you think I maybe need this and they forgot to list some models? Should I not try it?
